Congress just passed a bill that includes a provision to protect genetically engineered seeds from litigation over health risks. I don't think there is a conscious conspiracy to reduce human populations but the question of what is conscious is an interesting one. (more)

The other night, I saw Bill McKibben speak at Cooper Union. He reviewed his work on climate change beginning with The End of Nature, the first mainstream book on global warming. McKibben is a great writer and a hero. But his message would be more powerful if it included a transformative vision of the future we can create together. (more)
