A New Drug Culture
Bill Machon
A new book, Drugs and Culture : New Perspectives"is the result of a unique symposium organized by the Interdisciplinary Group For Psychoactive Studies. The book, supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, is a collection of articles that examine the intersection of drugs and culture, putting an emphasis on promoting fresh perspectives that cut through the standard, often sensationalist narratives that are usually associated with drugs. The history of drug usage, prohibition, and cultural attitudes are all explored and dissected. The book aims to serve independent thinkers who are curious about breaking down the prevailing dichotomy that too often seems to infest any dialogue about drug usage.
The book is published by Editora da Universidade Federal da Bahia
