Evolver Intensives: Divinations

Have you ever imagined that the seemingly chaotic events that make up your life are guided by something more than random chance?
What if you could learn tools and practices to unveil the inner workings of the universe – to make manifest your dreams and reveal the method behind the divine mystery?
Throughout human history, people have looked to the natural world for patterns to provide insight into their lives and what might await them in the future. This is the origin of oracles and divination: the systematic approach to the deeper patterns of cosmos, mind, and nature.
How can we integrate this ancient knowledge to improve and inspire our own lives, right now? Join us in November for the Evolver Intensives tele-seminar series, "Divination: How to Read the Future Now." We have assembled a faculty of preeminent scholars, seers, and teachers of divinatory arts who will demystify these arcane traditions, and show you practical ways to apply their teachings to transform your life. We invite you to join our host, acclaimed author Erik Davis, for an extraordinary series of live, in-depth conversations with true luminaries of divination and oracle reading.

“Divination: How to Read the Future Now” consists of four calls with some of the world’s most sought-after divinatory practitioners, leaders at the vanguard of an archaic revival: celebrated spiritualist and Tarot expert Rachel Pollack; archetypal astrologer VerDarLuz; initiated diviner and I Ching scholar Stephen Karcher; and John Michael Greer, geomancer and Grand Archdruid of the Ancient Order of Druids in America.
In this one-of-a-kind series, we will explore the following questions:
* What is the value of divination and oracle reading for people in modern society?
* What are the different traditions behind the I Ching, Tarot, astrology and other prominent oracles, and how are they best employed for practical self-development?
* How does divination, with its root in the word “divine,” come into conflict with or complement various religious beliefs?
* How do mythology and archetypes influence our daily lives, and how can a deeper understanding of them inform our decisions and relationships?
* Could a reintegration of divinatory knowledge aid humanity in the quickening of evolution, especially as we our world grows increasingly chaotic and perilous?
When you join the series, you will have the chance to ask your questions and share your concerns with our knowledgeable faculty.
"Divination: How to Read the Future Now" starts on November 10. For more information about the series, go to:

The modern day I Ching
As I wrote in Erik Davis' blog:
We have moved on in the 3000 years since the original I Ching was developed. As such, when we consider the last 3000 years of neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science reasearch so we find that within the 'primitive' perspectives of the ancients is a grain of truth that we, in the 21st century AD can exploit, no magic or randomness needed. See:

To add to this - we discover access to our holistic nature, our ability to make unconscious assessments of situations using parallel methods (emotions), through consideration of neurosciences and work on emotions that we can then map to I Ching representations. In making these mappings we bring out a LOT of 'hidden' information not previously realised to exist. This has nothing to do with the I Ching itself, it has to do with our neurology and its use of recursion to derive meaning - the I Ching is a specialist tool that manifests the methodology of our brains. Intuitively we have known there is 'something' going on, and now we know - even if vaguely. ;-)
