In 2003, the Hubble telescope aimed its sights on a seemingly empty patch of darkness in the sky. Eleven days later, humanity would witness what has become known as "the most important image ever taken." Seeing the furthest distance ever from Earth (47,000 light years away), Hubble's discovery revealed over 10,000 galaxies with millions and millions of stars, putting our small planet on the scale of pollen blowing in the wind. This short documentary video serves to illuminate the "smallness" many of us encounter when contemplating humanity's singular role in an extremely vast universe.
