The Coming of Ages

jurvetson.jpg

A few weeks ago, a whole lot of hoopla went down about the end of the Mayan Calendar. Most of it was disinformation by the media who insisted on referring to it as a prediction for the end-of-the-world. No one with any real understanding of the Mayan culture said anything of the kind. The media being who and what it is, there was little effort made to clarify what was meant by the calibration of an end point in the type of calendar the Mayans kept.

It was not the end of the world. It was the end of a world age.  A world age is a vast season of consciousness made manifest on the physical plane. The Mayans, very advanced beings, created a physical culture to teach the consciousness of time, the essence of which is that time is consciousness. We have now entered the world age in which we will learn and live that reality.

The previous world age was a cycle that had an entirely different consciousness and served an entirely different purpose. It lasted 5125 years and encompassed all of what we call civilization. It has been referred to as the "cycle of history." You could also characterize it as the cycle in which we separated from nature. It literally began with the distortion of the calendar from its primordial role as a social form that harmonized human activity with the synchronic order of all creation into a tool to control humanity via government, warfare, taxes, debt and police. The holy days -- holidays -- of the ancient matriarchal societies of the previous world age were tied to natural events such as seasons, celestial comings and goings and -- very much to the point -- the rhythms of the female body.

All of us are now living through the morphing of one age to another, from one dominant thought form into another. We are recovering from the intense experience of a dark vs. light drama as the age of history played itself out in the struggle to find redeeming glimpses of harmony in an increasingly distorted world. This is still the world that greets us daily as "news": hideous examples of humanity living out a psychotic suicide mission of disharmony on all fronts.  Technically, none of that is news because it belongs to the world age that is over. Nevertheless, a habit-bound and reactive media keeps serving it up.

World ages don't end crisply. They end like a car running out of gas, in fits and starts. You keep pumping on the accelerator pedal out of habit but the car is rolling to a stop.  When the tide turns, there is an initial period of chaos as the water that was pulled one way reorganizes itself to respond to being pulled in the opposite way.  What fueled the previous world age, thoughts that were programmed in via a time-equals-money macroprogram (the twelve-month erratic calendar), no longer fuels the new world age -- but the sputtering car has a little momentum left.

Meanwhile there are signs of the radical changes that are coming to be the fuel of the new world age, and these signs are the real news. We have the structures of the old age collapsing. Watch them go. The Vatican appears to be the first to bite the dust. The central banking system will follow. The concept of money as debt is no longer viable. It doesn't work. Too many have too little and too few have too much and the inevitable outcome of that disharmony is bedlam. (Bedlam is a word that derives from the name of a London hospital for the insane.)

On the fringes of awareness, new systems are being birthed. We're seeing the arising of consciousness movements with political agendas that are founded in values of the heart, not pitting one group of us against the other. We are seeing that survival is a whole planet issue, not a pecking order privilege. We are likely to see movements arising outside the political formula attached to the last world age. Maybe they will be more like Burning Man and less like burning down the house. We are seeing the power of celebration, meditation and synchronized dance forms to bring about the renewal of hope and aspiration. The long-suppressed feminine energy once embodied in the authority of natural time is returning, as is the 13 Moon Calendar of Natural Time.

This is the period of incubation, of the seed murmuring under the soil, of the brewing of new energies and the testing of new ideas in a friendlier climate. Sensitive people are agreeing that things have changed and noticing the subtle power of projecting internal personal harmony into social situations. The appetite for the archetypal nurturing values of the feminine is undeniable. We're tired of war and violence as tools of resolving anything. It's better to reach out and take away the pain than inflict more pain.

Gradually the awakening of the new consciousness will take form on the physical plane.  The human race will heal the earth in the world age we have now entered. All our genius of invention will be harnessed in the undoing of the damage that has been inflicted on the physical earth and the simple act of overturning our priorities will initiate a new creative explosion of healing and restoring. In this we will not be alone. The harmonization of all beings with the synchronic order of the universe is the invitation that will open our awareness to the vast field of cosmic intelligence that surrounds us.

Welcome to the New Age.

time is consciousness

Please elaborate on the idea that time is consciousness.

time is consciousness

I will give you some seed ideas and you can water them with your own experience.

1.) Clock time is mechanical time but our actual experience of time is only of the present. Time is not clock time.

2.) We remember the past and imagine the future from the emotional state of the present. The past is changed when we change our feelings about it. "We can only change the past and we do it all the time," said Bob Dylan in his latest Rolling Stone interview.

3.) Our experience proves that time slows down or speeds up depending on our subjective consciousness.

4.) Under certain conditions of consciousness, such as dealing with an emergency or some mind-blowing event, we see layers beyond the present reality. Our mind stops and inputs from who-knows-where come in: insights, words, actions, expanded awareness, etc. We are clearly expanded outside our normal functional consciousness into a new dimension of consciousness.

5.) Collectively, a group of people sharing a transpersonal awareness such as a medition or a trance dance or even an athletic event can experience time together as an expanded awareness or even a communion of consciousness.

6.) The ability to attain states of deep meditation or lucid dreaming or altered states via psychotropic plants always opens up portals to "timeless" experiences. The individual ego is flooded with perceptions that are "more real" than ordinary life. This is the consciousness that certain extraordinary individuals can access to shift the physical 3D world.

7.) As we become more adept at realizing these states, and as the group consciousness of humanity as a whole operates at the more refined vibration of these states, we will achieve skills in manifestation that will advance us to being masters of the physical world. It is the difference between knowing how to go into a kitchen full of ingredients and make anything we want and being in the dining room told we can chose from a menu with half a dozen items on it.

8.) Understanding that this is our evolutionary heritage changes our whole reason for being and this is what the World Age we have just entered is about. The Fourth Dimension of time is the dimension of consciousness in which we see how the physical reality is structured and how it responds to our mind.

9.) Mayan mathematics offer maps of this structure encoded into their synchronic patterns. The exploration is infinite. This is a new consciousness, known as the Noosphere.

10.) As we enter the Noospheric Age, we are seeing that the structure of our present time-is-money culture is utterly artificial and, furthermore, hazardous to our health. We are seeing that it is nonsense. This new consciousness will grow until it sweeps the vestiges of the old age away.

That's It, make-it-happen.

"Time got the time tick tick ticking in my head"

To the Guarani people, wisdom means "to feel time".

"Man dreams the dream of things;Time thinks the dreams of men."Octavio Paz

Right on about time. Time is

Right on about time. Time is critical to all physics formulas, but we have yet to actually isolate it. we measure it very precisely, but have yet to prove it exists outside of our consciousness like more objective forces like gravity, electromagnetic energy, and so on. (And we do have very accurate clocks, atomic clocks so precise they can measure the difference in relativistic time to 3-foot increments.) If time equals money, and time doesn't exist, neither does money - it's just a perception. Great article.

Thank You!

Yes, Thank You Elizabeth Whitney for writing this article. It is so eloquent and to the point - so refreshing to read. Like a shower of words, but not an indoor plumbed or a golden shower of words; rather a cool and pure waterfall of words that I can't help but enjoy - Invigorating! Hella Clean!

STRONG AS DEATH

SWEET AS LOVE.

Wonderful perspectives

A beautiful unfolding of possibility and perspective- and well written, dear Elizabeth Whitney. :) Yes, as par for the course the corporate media (understandably) misrepresented the significance and potentially experiential understanding of this last Solstice cycle. To share a short story: I live in the present-moment -always- and thus was not 'expecting' anything when the Solstice arrived- though I had read of it being related to the End of Time/Days. And yet I felt something subtle in my field that was not there prior to the 21st- and because present-moment folks allow grace/insights to reveal themselves (versus mental probing), I went on with my experiences as they arrived. On New Year's Day, a friend greeted me saying, "Happy New Year, Andrea; Happy 2013." And as I watched my mind prepare to go into autopilot in response, I felt this subtle awareness that has appeared during the Solstice, expand throughout my entire Being... and its silence engulfed me as I nodded politely to my friend. In that moment my entire Being 'experienced' that "2013" did not exist; that time and its calendars, history, have never existed- and are only concepts in my head. I 'felt' this... Like it has been said so many times: There is only the present-moment- but this feeling experience was different in that it closed the door eternally on 'time.' Shortly-after, I experienced a vision where I saw this huge, heavy, wooden clock over my head and shoulders (shaped like Napoleon's headpiece), lift up and crash to the floor- and I felt freed from a huge 'burden.' And so, without merit, I am moving through this world perhaps with one less perception obstacle holding me in this dreamscape. It is always and only the present-moment where I remain with God- the Unknown One. Again, thank you for a wonderful piece. "There is no Love greater than Love without an object- for then you yourself have become Love itself."~rumi

Great article

I agree, except for "We are recovering from the intense experience of a dark vs. light drama" The recovery cannot begin until the climax of the drama is resolved. The resolution hasn't yet come because the final showdown between both sides is still preparing. No metaphysical terminology and analyses can change that fact; only distract from it till distraction is no longer possible. The prophecy is the prophecy and it will be fulfilled whether post-modern philosophers-of-hip-and-cool want it or not. Both Light and Dark want to rule eternity and neither will acquiesce to the other. The final war is at hand.

The interesting thing about Daniel Pinchbeck's "The Return of Quetsalcoatl" is that he talked very little about the prophecy of Quetsalcoatl who is the one Messiah of many names. Quetsalcoatl and Kukulcan is the Christ who subscribes to no human religion. The Vatican, in fact, is the arch-enemy of Christ and the Creatrix.
