Carjack Hack

A controversial technology created for the purpose of remotely disabling cars whose owners are delinquent on their payments is being called into question after the technology was misused by a disgruntled employee in Texas. A recently laid off auto center employee decided to seek revenge against his employer.   He remotely disabled over one hundred cars, frustrating their owners and drawing attention to another example of how the unintended uses of overreaching technology can turn everyday situations amok.

What a joke! Nothing is safe

What a joke! Nothing is safe nor secure anymore. I enjoyed the read but I doubt the victims in this story could laugh with this and probably the culprit can't anymore either. It is a pity the story doesn't tell what happened to him. I expect he's in jail? http://www.larp64.com

How could it be

How could a single employee has an access to such a volnurable technology. I would consider this technology like a nuclear missile in a submarine, which not even the captain has to had approval from the XO and Washington to launch it. This has got to be very tricky. Car is not a notebook, it's much more expensive.
