Call For Speaker Submissions For Burning Man 2012

The Evolver community will host a series of salons throughout the week in the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors visionary art dome at the "AREA 51" theme camp on the Esplanade around seven o'clock, at this year's Burning Man festival in Nevada. Daniel Pinchbeck and myself will be selecting the speakers and moderating the discussions on playa, so if you have something to say to the Burning Man community then send a proposal ASAP and we will consider it for the series.

Proposals should include:

- Brief biographical description of the speaker and their background in whatever research, writing or experience you would like to share.

- Brief description of the planned content and duration of the talk.

- A link to any URL or an attached file that may be necessary for us to consider in support of your proposal. If you wrote a book, work in an academic department, live on an intentional community or are in some clinical healing practice, please include a link to the relevant info so that we can see your work. If you don't have this, then be creative and convincing and be prepared for questions!

Topics should reflect the "Fertility 2.0" theme if possible, but any serious visionary, evolutionary or socially conscious proposal will be considered. Possibilities include: urban transformation, art and vision, apocalypse, research into psychedelics, healing practices, media studies, cutting edge science, music and transformation, mythology, initiatic practices, cultural criticism, indigenous knowledge, conspiracy, and many more possibilities. Just convince us of why Burners need to hear it, convince us of your ability to explain it, and if the content complements or enriches the other submissions and planned speakers, then we will see you on the playa!

We can host presentations as short as 20 or as long as 45 minutes, but be specific and realistic in your proposal because playa time management is extremely difficult and we will stick to our planned schedule so as not to disrespect any of the other participant speakers.

E-mail me as soon as possible for best consideration! The first threshold will be Aug. 7th. Although we may be able to take submissions after that, we would like to have most of the schedule formed by Aug 10th so we can begin promoting the talks within our community.
