A recent study of the causes of mental retardation performed at MIT suggests that our brains aren't too dissimilar from plants in a garden.

Small bushy spines grow from brain cells. The brain prunes these all of the time in order to keep the cells protected from the overgrowth of the spines. The study suggests that mental retardation is caused from an inability of the brain to do its pruning.

Scientists are now driving towards the creation of drugs that could do the pruning for the brain when it stops.

It's fascinating enough to think about the concept of a garden within, let alone a gardener...

A garden within is a beautiful and comforting theory to contemplate. 
It is also interesting to think about the effects of this drug on the spirit.? Some believe that the challenges we have in this life are chosen by our spirit. If a drug is availiable to circumvent living a life with a mental disablity, can it be said that this an easy fix, one that may hinder our spritual growth--Just a thought...

That's definitely interesting. I wonder the same thing about synthetic psychedelics verses the plants themselves? It's like---not a gardener doing the garderning but a robotic spade? Hmmm... Adam Elenbaas
