Evolver Goes Boom

From full moon forest party to one of the leading events in transformational culture world-wide, the biennial Boom Festival has jumped up the spiral of evolution over the last 15 years, reaching its 9th edition in 2012.
In this much-awaited year of unprecedented global transition, Boom takes place from July 28th until August 4th around a magnificent lake in the heart of the Portuguese countryside.
This year's theme is "Alchemy," manifested through a wide variety of stages.
There's the Dance Temple, the festival's beating heart for advanced music with psy-trance aesthetic, the Ambient Source, for relaxing soundscapes through concerts and DJ sets, and the Alchemy Circle, which features bass, techno, dub, glitch and theatre performances.
The Healing Area offers an array of alternative medicines, yoga and meditation practices, and the Sacred Fire keeps the flame alive during the entire festival. The Third-Eye Gallery exhibits work from leading visionary artists like Andrew Jones and Anderson Debernardi, from the Amazonian tradition. And then there is Kosmicare, a safety zone for healing difficult psychedelic experiences and for the implementation of harm reduction policies, a truly groundbreaking achievement setting the standard for events world-wide.
The Liminal Village showcases workshops and presentations by cutting edge thinkers and innovative leaders, including Evolver speakers Daniel Pinchbeck and Charles Eisenstein.
The production’s decade-long commitment to sustainability and permaculture has resulted in awards such as the Greener Festival Award 2008 (Outstanding Prize) and the European Festival Award 2010 (Clean 'n' Green Festival of the Year).
Boom attracts some 30,000 people from 91 different countries, making it one of the most culturally diverse event on the planet.
The doors are open, don’t miss your chance to bring your unique contribution!

THE ALCHEMY OF 2012 AND GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION (A BOOM FESTIVAL/EVOLVER SALON PRESENTATION)
It should be obvious to everyone by now that the world is not going to get any less haywire any time soon. Climate change is accelerating. New technologies of control and liberation are proliferating. Civil insurrection is becoming a global phenomenon. What is our path toward a rapid transmutation of our current civilization toward a truly planetary culture, where symbiosis and cooperation become the norm? What role could shamanism, psychedelics, and psychic experience play in this transformation? How do we as individuals contribute to bring about the world we want to see?

HUMANITY'S COMING OF AGE (A BOOM FESTIVAL/EVOLVER SALON PRESENTATION)
To many of us, it is obvious that a deeper process is driving the crises of our time. This talk describes the striking parallels between our historical moment and the universal dynamics of the transition into maturity. Drawing from anthropological examples and invoking concepts from technology, ecology, and philosophy, we will explore the Rite of Passage humanity is undergoing and how it echoes in our own lives.THE MORE BEAUTIFUL WORLD OUR HEARS KNOW IS POSSIBLE (WORKSHOP)
At a time of rapid change and profound uncertainty, we sense the possibility of a world far more beautiful than what we have long accepted as “normal.” We also know that the strategies we use to create change, if they are grounded in the old world, will be insufficient to create a new one. This gathering will explore a way of being called “living in the gift” that allows us to step into the flow of synchronicity and achieve things that are impossible from our old understanding of cause and effect. The planet is entering a new era, and we can bow into its service.
