The Book in the Sky
There is currently much speculation on the possibility of imminent changes in our external reality, due to forces in nature, economy and society, as well as changes to our consciousness, or internal reality, during this same period of the next few years. This period coincides with the 2012 end date of the Mayan calendar, but regardless of one's views of the Mayan system, there is a general feeling that we are at a crossroads and we will be required to choose a new direction. At such a time it can help us to be open new ways of obtaining information, while remaining careful to evaluate it in a discerning way. It would seem that more people are experiencing synchronicities, and are increasingly seeing them as pointers towards information, or as sources of information in themselves.
I began to experience synchronicities in the early nineties and in the last three years or so they started to become frequent and more complex. Feeling that they were too significant to simply experience and then let go, I started archiving them in 2005. Some friends became interested and I dubbed them my "field reporters" -- they would report their own experiences of that type back to me. The involvement of multiple people seemed to create a feedback loop that resulted in some complex events.
At this same time I became interested in instrumental transcommunication, which is the use of electronic devices to capture voices and images of unknown origin. I wrote a feature for Reality Sandwich on this topic in October of 2007. My interest in this area is not about ghosts or occult, it is about information. I feel a kind of instinctive drive towards getting information from sources outside of our day-to-day. Over time this has taken different forms but I see this as the common thread.
Another aspect of my experience that began to change at this same time, during spring 2005, was dreaming. I began to have dreams of greater significance, that I was very sure were communications from other sources, often about events in the near future.
In the last few months I have found that the synchronicities have again increased in complexity, and they are increasingly containing what I interpret as communication. This generally takes the form of a group of events that take place over a period of days or weeks, that are aligned in a synchronistic way, and that seem to convey information.
This chain of events has presented a picture to me, and it is this larger picture that I want to convey here. It is an unconventional form of narrative in which the interpretation and recording of the information conveyed through synchronicities seemed to set of more synchronicities which then had to be fed back into the interpretation and recording. The writing, reading and broadcasting of this article, the subject and the object, have essentially merged. I believe the publishing and reading of this article then continues to feed back into this same continuum, as has been the case already.
In June of 2008 I read the Reality Sandwich feature "Radical Interdependence and Online Telepathy: How Twitter Helps Us Find One Another" by Jennnifer Palmer. I then began following Jennifer's Twitter feed. A day or two later she tweeted that she had had a dream a few months previous that involved an observatory and a large letter "A" in the sky. I had a very strange feeling come over me, as I had also had a dream a few months previously about a large A in the sky. I contacted Jennifer about this.
Both dreams took place around November of 2007. I had written mine down with the date marked only as November 07, and she pinpointed that hers was just before she first contacted Reality Sandwich, which was also that November.
My dream consisted of several rows of large symbols or characters that were scrolling slowly across the sky from left to right. I was on the ground looking up. Out of these characters, I could only recognize a letter A, which was prominent and obviously intended to be the object of focus in that scene. The others were exotic and unfamiliar looking. A woman standing beside me looked up and said "Not long now."
That evening, after the dream, I watched Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey on TV. While riding in the back of a carriage with Mr. and Mrs. Allen, the main character Catherine is reading a passage from an Ann Radcliffe novel:
"A tumult of emotions stirred in the bosom of Adeline. Fear gripped her heart, that, at any moment, ruffians would fly upon the carriage and return her to the ignominy of her captive state."
Catherine falls into a fantasy in which she is abducted from her carriage by a man who examines the crucifix around her neck, to her excitement. She snaps out of it, and Mr. Allen looks into the camera and says "Not long now." (Northanger Abbey Part 1, start at 4:30.)
In Jennifer's dream, she saw something shoot out of an observatory into the sky. She wrote, "I looked up and the A appeared after some other static and gibberish. The A was the only thing I could recognize." The A then became bold and the other symbols faded away, first the ones on the left, then the ones on the right. The A stood on its own for a second before fading out itself.
"The sensation that I had in the dream was very, very strong - it was an emotion of profound elation mixed with belly dropping fear and wonder - whatever launched in the sky seemed to produce a thunder that shook me at what felt like a molecular level."
Both dreams not only included a large capital A in the sky, but the A was among other characters that were not ledgible for whatever reason. Only the A could be made out. In my dream, the characters scrolled from left to right; in Jennifer's they faded out from left to right. The dreams happened around the time that bother Jennifer and I started writing for Reality Sandwich, and both had themes of technology crossed with telepathy or mediumship. We had never communicated before, and yet we had the same specific and unusual dream imagery at around the same time. I felt that this needed to be looked at further.
Carl Jung, in a letter to A.D. Cornell dated February 9, 1960, wrote:
"...the archetype is not evoked by a conscious act of the will; experience shows that it is activated, independently of the will, in a psychic situation that needs compensating by an archetype. One might even speak of a spontaneous archetypal intervention... Because of its ubiquity, the archetype can by its very nature manifest itself not only in the individual directly concerned but in another person or even in several people at once - for instance, in parallel dreams, the 'transmission' of which should be regarded more as a Psi-phenomenon than anything else."1
It is conceivable that the act of bringing people together that are looking for insight into the idea of 2012, through the Reality Sandwich website, created a psychic situation, as described by Jung, that brought about a spontaneous archetypal intervention in the form of parallel dreams. If Jennifer and I received such a transmission, it should contain some kind of information that can be interpreted, and it would be worth attempting to interpret it.
The dreams have the same core idea of a set of characters appearing in the sky, that can't be understood with the exception of the letter A. The other elements of the dreams vary.
• Letter A amongst undiscernable characters in the sky - both dreams
• In an around November 2007 -- both dreams.
• A matrix of characters in rows, slowly moving across the sky -- John.
• Characters emanate from an observatory -- Jennifer.
• The message "Not long now" -- John.
• Profound elation, belly-dropping fear -- Jennifer.
• "Shook me at what felt like a molecular level" -- Jennifer.
The letter A comes from the Greek Alpha, and can be traced back to Aleph, the Egyptian hieroglph for Ox. A and its predecessors make the first letter of Latin, Greek, Cryllic, Hebrew and Phoenician alphabets. Wikipedia tells us:
"Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 1."
Plutarch in Moralia, presents a discussion on why the letter alpha stands first in the alphabet. Ammonius asks Plutarch what he, being a Boeotian, thinks of Cadmus...placing alpha first because it is the Phoenician name for ox - which...the Phoenicians considered not the second or third, but the first of all necessities. "Nothing at all" Plutarch replied. He then added that he would rather be assisted by Lamprias...For Lamprias had said that the first articulate sound made is "alpha" [ah], because it is very plain and simple - the air coming off the mouth does not require any motion of the tongue - and therefore this is the first sound that children make."2
Some symbolic meanings of the letter A then could be:
- Beginning - Alpha
- Essential practical value - Aleph/Ox, "the first of all necessities"
- Accessibility, simplicity, universality - "The first sound that children make", the first letter of Latin, Greek, Cryllic, Hebrew and Phoenician alphabets
- Upward shift or ascension - A geometically forms an arrow pointing upward
I found a kids toy that evoked this dream imagery. It is a simple computer with buttons with numbers, objects and shapes. There is a switch with two options: a scroll with a capital A and a scroll with a question mark. When the question mark is selected, the computer names something and asks you to press the appropriate button. When the A is selected, you press the button and the computer identifies the item for you. The A means that all of the the information is available to you. I would say that the primary meaning of the A is this accessibility or availability of information.
What is the information that is being made accessible? In my dream, the alien characters were arranged in several rows stacked upon one another, forming a field of information. The field moved horizontally across the sky from left to right. This evokes the Matrix movie series, with its columns of descending alphabetic characters representing the digital information underlying the reality that Neo and the other characters operate within.
David Icke regularly references the Matrix movies when describing the holographic nature of reality, and this holographic concept originiates with physicist David Bohm's holomovement. There is a particular version of this framework from systems theorist Erwin Lazslo, incorporating much older thinking.
A couple of weeks before learning about Jennifer's A dream, and connecting it to my own, I had finished reading Lazslo's "Science and the Akashic Field", in which he proposes that our reality is grounded on an information field, that he calls the Akashic Field, based on the ancient Hindu concept of Akasha. He refers to this as the "A-field".
"Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning "ether": all-pervasive space. Originally signifying "radiation" or "brilliance", in Indian philosophy akasha was considered the first and most fundamental of the five elements - the others being air, fire, water and earth. Akasha embraces the properties of all five elements: it is the womb from which everything we perceive with out senses has emerged and into which everything will ultimately redescend. "The Akashic Record" is the enduring record of all that happens, and has ever happened, in the whole of the universe."3
The symbols appeared in the sky. In Supernatural, Graham Hancock makes connections between themes found worldwide in shamanic journeys and those found in UFO abduction experiences:
"...most abductees report that at the beginning of the experience they are ‘floated' out of their houses or cars and up to the sky to where the UFO awaits. Similarly, most accounts of shamanic initiations also begin with a sky journey (because the realm of the gods and spirits is located in the sky...)"4
The techniques used to transport the shaman or abductee to the sky are similar; both are floated or levitated through the air, by a beam of light in the case of the abductees, and by a "sky rope" in the case of the shaman. The abductees end up in a flying craft of some sort, and it is common for the shaman to also end up in a boat, "flying shield" or even a vessel with "walls of metal".
Once they have reached their destinations the shaman generally meets with a spirit guide and the abductee meets what are perceived as aliens or extraterrestrials.
"...the purpose of a shaman's spirit guides is to bestow upon him the power and teach him the requisite skills to shamanise: to travel freely and at will in the spirit world, to negotiate with its inhabitants, and to return to earth equipped to heal the sick, influence the weather, control the movements of animals, and find out the truth of hidden things - not for his own benefit but for the benefit of the tribe.
...from the reports of UFO abductees, it is also clear - despite their frequent of confusion and trauma - that they regard their encounters with the aliens as important learning experiences."5
In some cases this tranferal of knowledge makes use of a book. Hancock cites the case of Mazatec Indian shaman Maria Sabina from the 1950s:
"...the spirit smiled, and immediately he had in his hands something that he did not have before, and it was a big Book with many written pages. ‘Here,' he said, ‘I am giving you this Book so that you can do your work better and help people who need help and know the secrets of the world where everything is known.' I thumbed through the leaves of the Book, many written pages, and I thought that unfortunately I did no know how to read. I had never learned and therefore that would not have been any use to me. Suddenly I realized I was reading and understood all that was written in the Book and that I became as though richer, wiser, and that in one moment I learned millions of things. I learned and learned."6
Maria could not take the book with her, and said that it "remains in the sky". The same story is told separately by UFO abductees Betty Hill and Betty Andreasson, who were given books but had to return them before leaving the ship - as if it were a reference library.
Another theme heard in UFO abduction reports is of the abductee being shown pictographic symbols or characters of an alphabet. Abduct.com has a list of 25 such reported cases. Within many of these alphabets are recognizable numbers or letters.
The phrase "Not long now", clearly emphasized in the dream and later that day with an additional synchronicity, would imply that this accessibility is imminent. Once I had worked out a rough interpretation of these dreams, the imagery began to spill over into my daily reality.
A coworker with a background in mathematics scribbled a ridiculously complex mathematical formula on the window with a marker, just for entertainment, as our work has very little to do with math. The left side of the equation consisted of a large capital A and the right side was the indecipherable mass of symbols.
On June 1st 2008, 10 days before Jennifer made the connection about these dreams, a 300-foot crop circle appeared near Barbury Castle in England. Kal Cobalt reported on Reality Sandwich that "analysis of the 'ratchet' design has left many experts breathless with the complexity hidden within its angles...Mathematicians studying the new formation have made the startling discovery that pi to the tenth decimal point is encoded within the ratchet (3.14159265358)." The Telegraph reported it as "the most complex crop circle ever discovered in British fields".
"This is the most exciting and puzzling event so far this year to appear in Wiltshire. This formation appears to deliberately straddle a public pathway. This is a little baffling as there is plenty of room in the barley field to accommodate a pathway free design."
It seems unlikely that the maker of this formation would have accidentally overlapped it with the walkway. Here we see similar symbolism: a complex pattern of intricate, encoded knowledge overlapped and perfectly aligned with a walkway accessible to the public.
I began to come across imagery of an A emerging from geometric patterns or words. An advertising campaign for a new TV channel, "A-Channel", took over the subway system, featuring a large capital A in various configurations. Here we see an A next to an image of fingerprints. Fingerprints are code in that they are not directly readable, but act as a unique idenifier of an individual person. There is also research supporting the idea that fingerprints can act as diagnostic indicators of genetic diseases such as schizophrenia and diabetes. This would mean that they carry information.
The image used for Daniel Pinchbeck's November Reality Sandwich post "Breakdown or Breakthrough" is highly significant in its unintentional evocation of the A-dream imagery. The image is of text with a leading offset capital A. The text has a mirror reflection above it. The lower text, which is readable, deals with the current economic situation. The upper text, also showing the capital A, is backwards, thus appearing alien and indecipherable. I interpret this as a symbol of two levels of information - one dealing with everyday matters, received through the conventional channels such as academic research, media and communication with others. The upper level of information we can equate with the sky symbols, which is not always consciously available to us, but is becoming more so, as symbolized by the A. It is information received through less conventional channels such as psychic mediumship and synchronicities. It can pertain to any aspect of reality. Both types of information in this Reality Sandwich, I believe, are valid and essential, and must be evaluated by the individual.
Spontaneous access to knowledge is usually associated with altered states of consciousness. Psychologist Stanislav Grof has observed numerous cases of this kind, in sessions where an altered state is induced using LSD or meditative techniques he developed. In "The Holotropic Mind", he presents cases of transpersonal experience where the subject, in an altered state, experiences the consciousness of animals, plants, and even minerals.
A Belgian woman describes an experience that took place during one of Grof's workshops:
"I had an increasing sense that my consciousness had a distinctly oceanic quality until I felt that I actually became what can best be described as the consciousness of the ocean. I became aware of the presence of several large bodies and realized that it was a pod of whales.
"At one point, I felt cold air streaming through my head and had a taste of salty water in my mouth. A variety of sensations and feelings that were alien and definitely not human imperceptibly took over my consciousness. A new, gigantic body image started to form out of the primordial connection to the other large bodies around me and I realized I had become one of them. Inside my belly I sensed another life form and new it was my baby. There was no doubt in my mind that I was a pregnant whale cow.
"And then came another wave of the birth process. However, this time it had a different quality than the previous episodes. It had gargantuan proportions, as if the ocean were stirred from its very depth; at the same time it was surprisingly easy and natural. I experienced my genitals in the most intimate way, with all the nuances of these birthing activities associated with profound visceral understanding of how whales give birth. What I found most amazing was how they use water to expel the baby by sucking it into their genitals and working with hydraulic pressure. It seemed significant that the baby was born with its tail first."6
Grof described this woman's experience to a marine biologist, who confirmed that the details she gave of whale birthing were accurate. She had not previously been aware of information on this subject. Grof continues, "This is just one of hundreds of confirmations of extraordinary insights that people have received while in altered states. I have been repeatedly surprised by the voracity of these insights, which often involve highly specific and detailed information even with people who had no previous knowledge, interest, or experience in the subject."
According to Laszlo,
"All we experience in our lifetime - all our perceptions, feelings, and thought processes - have cerebral functions associated with them. These functions have wave-form equivalents, since our brain, like other things in space and time, creates information-carrying vortices - it "makes waves." The waves propagate in the vacuum and interfere with the waves created by the bodies and brains of other people, giving rise to complex holograms. ...
"Generations after generations of humans have left holographic traces in the A-field, and the information in these holograms is available to be read out. The holograms of individuals integrate in a superhologram, which is the encompassing hologram of a tribe, community, or culture. The collective holograms interface and integrate in turn with the super-superhologram of all people. This is the collective in-formation pool of humankind."
"We can tune our consciousness to resonate with the hologram in the A-field. The transmissions of information in a field of holograms is known: it occurs when the wavefields that make up two (or more) holograms are "conjugate" with each other. The effect is similar to the more familiar effect known as resonance."8
It is interesting that Laszlo tells us that we are in fact already accessing part of the A-field on a daily basis: that of our own hologram.
"Normally the most direct and evident resonance occurs between our brain and the hologram we ourselves have created. This is the basis of long-term memory. When we remember a thing, a person, or an event from many years ago...we do not address the memory stores in our brain: we "recall" the information from the hologram that records our experiences."9
This idea is supported by the work of neurologist Karl Pribram which states that long-term memory is stored holographically across the brain and is not local to a specific area. That we generate our own hologram, which becomes part of the larger hologram, is expressed in Jennifer's dream imagery of the observatory, which we can safely take as a symbol for the observer, projecting the A-field information into the sky. One of the common elements of near-death experiences is known as the "holographic life review". An example:
"All my life up till the present seemed to be placed before me in a kind of panoramic, three-dimensional review, and each event seemed to be accompanied by a consciousness of good or evil or with an insight into cause or effect. Not only did I perceive everything from my own viewpoint, but I also knew the thoughts of everyone involved in the event, as if I had their thoughts within me. This meant that I perceived not only what I had done or thought, but even in what way it had influenced others."10
Here we see an individual, who's body is clinically dead, with full access to his own hologram as well as to those of others affected by him during his lifetime.
Laszlo speculates on an evolution of consciousness, where we do not need to re-tune to altered states, or die, in order to achieve lucid transpersonal awareness.
"Ideas such as these differ in specific detail, but they have a common thrust. Consciousness evolution is from the ego-bound to the transpersonal form. If this is so, it is a source of great hope. Transpersonal consciousness is open to more of the information that reaches our brain than the consciousness still dominant today. This could have momentous consequences. It could produce greater empathy among people, and greater sensitivity to animals, plants and the entire biosphere. It could create subtle contact with the rest of the cosmos. When a critical mass of humans evolves to the transpersonal level of consciousness a higher civilization is likely to emerge, with deeper solidarity and a higher sense of justice and responsibility."11
Whenever we feel empathy and put ourselves in someone else's shoes, we are experiencing transpersonal consciousness. Perhaps a greater emphasis on an empathetic mode of being by a critical mass of people can result in, as Laszlo suggests, a quantum leap in which we all go online and boundaries dissolve. Perhaps it is happening regardless of our actions, and the best we can do is to become compatible with this mode of being. How things play out is to be determined. One thing that seems for sure is that any of us can be informed at any time.
The preceding paragraph was intended to close this article. I wrote the closing while at a relative's cottage. The following day, something occurred that seemed to be in reponse to the closing paragraph. I was in the washroom helping my toddler to use the toilet. I stood facing her, and directly above her was a picture hanging on the wall. For no apparent reason, the picture fell off the wall and smashed the lid of the toilet into pieces. The pieces remained in place and no one was hurt. I examined the back of the picture frame and the cardboard backing had a cutaway with a hole intended for hanging. The nail that it had been hanging from had slowly worn away at the cardboard simply by force of gravity, until after a decade or so, the cardboard gave way, as I stood facing it.
The picture was of several sailboats. The first, second and last sails showed a capital A followed by some numbers, some of which showed backwards and like alien symbols. The message on the poster was "We cannot direct the wind. We can adjust the sails."
I removed the loose pieces of the toilet lid. With half the lid remaining, it looked like a cut-away in a technical illustration, where part of a container or covering is rendered invisible so as to display the inner contents or mechanism. A search on "cut-away" in reference to technical illustrations turns up the following definition:
"...the usual practice is to cut away a quarter segment to expose the inner details while still maintaining the external shape... this type of illustration is particularly suitable for showing internal flow and principles of operation."12
I feel that this is intentional symbolism, once again with the theme of information that was previously abstracted away from us, becoming directly accessible to our senses.
In this same theme, I photographed a scene on my street in which we see a digger breaking through the sidewalk to provide access to the water and gas pipes underneath. The red wooden barrier on the right forms an A next to the post reflecting the camera flash. At the time I didn't notice that on the arm of the digger are some letters that are defaced or obscured with the exception of an A.
In this context, another meaning of "A" could be the word Apocalypse, which is popularly considered a sort of destrcutive reckoning event in the near future. However the word itself is dervied from the Greek apokalyptein meaning "uncover". The components of this word are apo, a prefix meaning "away from", and kalyptein, meaning "to cover, conceal".
I thought that the falling picture would be the final event to integrate into this piece however that was not the case. Upon returning to work after my vacation, I attended a management training course. During this course I began to experience another set of synchronicites that seemed to add new themes to those presented so far.
The man presenting said he also teaches a course in "experiential learning", which is about ways of learning that involve direct experience as opposed to academic methods.
He got onto the subject of bees, saying that they are genetically wired so that when they find a new food source, they do a dance for the other bees that is highly complex and involves triangulation to the sun, and communicates the location of the food source. The bees then go off and find the food. However, twenty percent of the bees are genetically wired to not go to the food source and go somewhere else entirely, in a random fashion. The apparent reason for this is so they will in turn discover locations of new food sources which can then be communicated back to the group.
He expressed his admiration for the work of Carl Jung, and described some behavioural personality types that were based on Jung's work. Much of the day long session involved exercises around determining our behavioural type and how to balance it out and work with people that have other behavioural tendencies.
A folder was handed out with material for us to follow. As I hadn't filled out the questionaire beforehand, I was given a personality profile for "Sam Sample". In the footer of each page was a graphic of two shapes. The left hand shape resembled a capital A. The right hand shape looked like a misshapen A, with the lower right leg bent upwards.
We came to the explanation of this graphic. The shapes were lines on a graph of the behavioural types. The misshapen A was an example of Sam Sample's personality profile, or "natural style," also described by the presenters as the style requiring the least effort, and the A represented the "perceived adjustment" that Sample Sam felt he needed to make based on the answers he provided in his questionaire. Others in the course did not have had a graph shaped like an A, it was only my "Sam Sample" binder that had this shape.
So here we have events that tie into the previous ones presented. The capital A is juxtaposed with the indecipherable symbol, and we have the theme of making adjustments to ourselves to adapt to a changing reality.
What is changing and what should be adjusted? One type of change could be on the collective psychic level, that results in an overall shift to transpersonal consciousness. It may be that we need to adjust to this mode of consciousness in anticipation of this shift. Another type of change could be upheaval in our society and natural environment that would require adjustments of a more practical and material nature. One could bring about the other, or the two could be different aspects of the same change.
There is a Darwinian overtone to this idea of adjustment. I put very little stock in the theory of evolution-by-natural-selection as an explanation for our development, especially the development of psychic abilities. However these abilities are part of our toolkit and could be of immense practical value, especially in times of upheaval. In fact, the upheavals could be what releases these abilities some of us.
Mythologist John Lash refers to the work of Stanislav Grof:
"Today we are on the verge of witnessing a collective manifestation of what Stan Grof calls ‘spiritual emergencies.' His recent book, When the Impossible Happens, presents a vivid inventory of such emergencies."
"Grof has shown that traumatic experiences normally dismissed as due to ‘mental breakdown' or ‘mental illness' are actually opportunities to break through into non-ordinary reality and acquire paranormal perception. The 2012 endtime marks a global pandemic of such opportunities."
In very apocalyptic launguage he pictures a scenario where an unravelling society acts as a trigger to unleash paranormal abilities:
"The vast spiritual emergency to be undergone by the human species in ever-increasing numbers, with natural disasters, social violence, and outright madness escalating up to and beyond 2012, will open the seals of paranormal faculties and burst the floodgates of non-ordinary reality. As the world humans have made comes apart in convulsions of fire and flood, a world will arise anew, but first within human perception, because seeing the Next World comes with traumatic extrapolation of the senses toward non-ordinary reality, in the very moment we behold the destruction of the existing world.
"The 2012 endtime will bring physical destruction on an unimaginable scale-this is not a prophecy but a common sense inference based on observable events and data, such as the meltdown rate of the Greenland iceshelf (dystropic feedback). It entails a total planetary makeover in parallel with a visionary awakening and plunge into altered states and paranormal perception, a shift into evolutional anomaly and shamanic magic. The scale of natural law will be reversed: instead of survival depending upon everyone´s conformity to consensus reality, it will depend on some individuals entering and navigating the realms of non-ordinary reality...
"For those who lived through the Ice Age, practical and magical skills were complementary. But these skills declined slowly over many millennia, and split apart. Hence early Neolithic cave relics and rock art are markedly inferior to what preceded them in the Paleolithic. We did not evolve from grunting, hairy cave people who hacked out stone implements: we evolved from handicapped cave people who themselves were degenerate heirs of far more skilled, sophisticated primitives. And these skilled, sophisticated primitives were themselves the diaspora of civilizations destroyed by a combination of natural and human-made factors. The mark of such civilizations was high attainment of social order and technological accomplishment at the expense of the dissociation of the magical and practical faculties which, working together, comprise the dual psychosomatic endowment of the human species.
"We lose our survival sense as access to non-ordinary reality becomes less and less common, and even comes to be rejected entirely. This, I would propose, is a peculiar evolutionary rule of the human species."13
Without getting caught up in the terror envisioned by Lash, the takeaway is the idea that paranormal abilities not just something we can aspire to in the future, they are part of our past. They have played a role in our sustenance and can do so in the future.
In January 2008, David Caron of Texas filmed a UFO in the sky for nine minutes. As UFOs go it was unusual because it was morphing into what at times seemed like squiggly lines and at other times seemed like symbols or characters. It would transform directly from one shape to the next, as if it were the frames of a movie.
More sightings of this kind have occurred since in New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana and Nevada.
In March, someone from Los Alamos, New Mexico uploaded a video to the MUFON website showing a similar phenemenon in the sky. In this case however, some symbols seemed to be recognizable numbers.
And so we are seeing the concept of alien sky symbols spilling into physical reality in a very literal sense, and intermixed in them we see characters from our own writing system.
Around the time of making this connection with the UFO symbol appearances, I began to find the number six turning up an unusual amount in daily life. I then had a dream of a man called "Sextum", Latin for "the sixth time", who won the lottery by playing all sixes. Not sure what to do with it, I sent out a Twitter of the number 6.
I mentioned this to Jennifer Palmer on November 4th, and a few days later she sent me a link to a webpage titled "Wisdom of Astrology."
"On the day of this Full Moon, we begin the 6th Day, representing the dawning of a new direction and a new era. Carl Johan Calleman, Mayan scholar and author of The Mayan Calendar and the Evolution of Consciousness speaks of this time as "the shift from chaos to the enlightened world." He maintains that "we are talking about the emergence of an entirely new species of human beings" and that, during the 6th Day (November 12, 2008 to November 7, 2009) large numbers of people will move toward a more enlightened, global consciousness."
The November 2008 cover story of Scientific American was titled "Plugging into the Brain" and explored the concept of brian-computer interfaces. Taking the cover image on its own outside of the computer interface concept, we see a person receiving information into their brain from a upward direction in stream of sky blue. Zooming in on the information, we see it composed of symbols and A's.
The information downloads to six glowing star - or solar system-like points on the head. An image placed at the beginning of the article shows a brain interface composed of hexagons.
In early 2007, NASA reported a highly unusual weather pattern at Saturn's north pole. Space.com reported:
"This is a very strange feature, lying in a precise geometric fashion with six nearly equally straight sides," said Kevin Baines, atmospheric expert and member of Cassini's visual and infrared mapping spectrometer team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. "We've never seen anything like this on any other planet. Indeed, Saturn's thick atmosphere, where circularly-shaped waves and convective cells dominate, is perhaps the last place you'd expect to see such a six-sided geometric figure, yet there it is."14
On November 17th 2008, Bill Machon reported on Reality Sandwich, "The...hexagonal anomaly at Saturn's north pole is now ablaze with beautiful blue lights. Newly released images from NASA show the visually stunning phenomenon at Saturn's north pole."
The aurora is perfectly superimposed over the hexagon, a six-sided shape, and Saturn is the sixth planet of our solar system. The image was released by NASA on November 12th, the day before Calleman's 6th day of the Galactic Underworld. On a larger scale, 2012 marks the end of the fifth Mayan long count cycle and the entry into the sixth.
If the picture is turned one quarter clockwise, within the aurora we can see a form that resembles a capital A. This would have been a form that appeared only briefly at the time the photograph was taken, as the aurora is always changing.
Notice the similarity in color to the stream of information in the Scientific American cover image, which was appeared in the same month as the aurora photo. This and other vibrant colors that could be taken from a spring color palette are used by the artists of the symbols that appeared earlier in the year in Texas, Illinois and Indiana, and in Nevada symbols only weeks ago.
At this point in the story, the number six, signifying Calleman's sixth day, which a year ago was "not long now", has been added to the A, which signifies access to universal A-field information. What does Calleman's sixth day mean?
A few weeks ago, I was out walking and noticed a large billboard for the new Disney DVD Tinker Bell. When I came home, my two-year-old daughter had been given the DVD as a present from her aunt. Later as I prepared to finally conclude this article after my two-year-old woke up at 6 am, she asked to watch the movie. I watched it for a few minutes with her, then went to the computer to write. Feeling that I didn't fully understand what Calleman's sixth day was about, I searched on "Calleman 6th day". The first result that came up was a blog posting by "Tinker Bell." I took this as a pointer back to the Tinker Bell movie, and looked at it some more.
The synopsis from IMDB reads,
"Enter the magical world of fairies and meet the enchanting creatures of Pixie Hollow, who "nurture nature" and bring about the change of the seasons. Changing the colors of the leaves, moving a sunbeam to melt snow, waking animals from their winter slumber, or giving a patch of sproutlings a sprinkle of water are all within the realm of these seasonal specialists. Tinker Bell thinks her fairy talent as a "tinker" isn't as special or important as the other fairies' talents. But when Tink tries to change who she is, she creates nothing but disaster! With encouragement from her friends Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn and Iridessa, Tink learns the key to solving her problems lies in her unique tinker abilities and discovers that when shes true to herself, magical things can happen."
Fairies are considered by some researchers to be an earlier version of the aliens and UFOs of today. In "Supernatural", Graham Hancock documents many clear similarities in the aspects of abduction, paranormal abilities and interdimensional travel.
In the opening frame of Tinker Bell we see the Everblossom, the flower in Neverland that brings about springtime on the mainland, which is the everyday world. In Neverland all seasons exists simultaneously, and the fairies are responsible for the changing of the seasons on the mainland.
In another scene, Iridessa draws a multi-colored "S" in the sky with her "rainbow tube". Another of the the central group of fairies is Rosetta, responsible for the blooming of flowers. The Rosetta stone was the tablet that first allowed Egyptian hieroglyphs to be translated, as it contained the same text in both Greek and Egyptian.
Each fairy has to discover her particular given ability, and Tinker Bell must touch a series of iconic symbols to determine hers. The symbol that responds to her is the hammer, meaning that her ability is tinkering. While out exploring, she comes across an old music box that has fallen into disrepair. The container is rung by a pattern of six leaves. Having never seen such a thing, she opens the lid to see the inner workings.
Tinkerbell seems to have an innate understanding of how to assemble the various parts of the machine. She assembles the various gears, nuts and axes to get the music box working, allowing the encoded information on the music cylinder to be converted into a melody. The large gear on the axis has 13 cogs, which is a principal number of Mayan calendrics: it is the number of divisions (baktun) in the Mayan long count calendar, and the number of day and night "heavens" of Calleman's Underworlds. There is a large hexagonal nut on the main axis that mirrors the hexagon on Saturn, which, while it is atmospheric, in seems to turn with the planet's axis. It "appears to have remained fixed with Saturn's rotation rate and axis since first glimpsed by Voyager 26 years ago".
Since the the different Mayan calendars are interlocking, they are often depicted as a set of gears in a machine. Here we see a museum display by Peter Associates that allows visitors to turn a wheel to generate different calendar dates.
Around this time I rented Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, relased three months before Tinker Bell, and saw some strong parallels. Hellboy's team is provided with a set of special goggles. It is explained that "normally we can't see fairy folk and trolls. They generate a cloaking aura called ‘glamour'." The glasses "penetrate that effect and reveal the true nature of things." They in fact work in any situation where inner workings are concealed.
In one scene, the team comes across a complex combination lock marked by strange symbols. Using the special goggles, the inner gears are exposed and they gain insight into the workings of the lock.
In an incredible scene, Hellboy battles a forest god that has been sent to defeat him. Hellboy is framed against the sky, standing on giant HOTEL letters. Although conflicted, Hellboy kills it. As it dies, pollen is released into the air, and the streets of New York suddenly bloom into foliage. From the body of the forest god emerges a giant orchid.
While Tinker Bell is obviously very talented, she feels tinkering is a lowly skill and tries to emulate the other faries, who are responsible for things such as flowers, light, and animals. In doing so, she gets into some mishaps and overturns all the work done in preparation for spring, such as painting lady bugs and making acorns. The head fairies meet to assess the situation. Fairy Mary, the head Tinker fairy, uses a six-columned abacus to keep track of progress. She calculates that there will not be enough time to recover the work lost in time for the opening of the Everblossom, thus spring may not arrive on the mainland. They fret that there will be no harvest and nothing to eat for the mainlanders.
Realizing the situation, Tinker Bell explodes with creativity and innovation. She designs a set of devices that can be built and used by all fairies using natural materials and "lost things" from the mainland, saving them work in order to make up for lost time.
Tinkerbell mobilizes the teams. The works gets done in time for the opening of the Everblossom, and spring arrives on the mainland.
Looking around, I found:
"The Sixth Day heralds a time of flowering for the plant - awakening, unfolding, opening up to new possibilities. Most scholars use the words "enlightenment" and "renaissance" to define this creative period. Historically, the Sixth Day on other levels or cycles corresponded to the invention of tools, first attempts at agriculture and building shelter; the European Renaissance itself; and the flower children movement of the 1960's. ..."
With time acceleration and the concrescence of novelty becoming more apparent to individuals, and as more individuals begin to open to awareness and the increased photon field that we seem to be moving through, we realize that our minds alone cannot keep up with the evolutionary changes. It has become necessary to rely upon our instincts and feelings to navigate through this new vibrational field..."
As we go into the Sixth Day, let us each be like the bud of a flower, ready to open to our full beauty."
At this point I had one more dream in which I was at a waterfront watching a movie play on an outdoor screen from a distance. A news report came into my head saying that UFOs had been spotted creating forms in the sky nearby. I looked up and beyond the movie screen and saw the forms being drawn. I then saw that the light from the movie projector was going beyond the screen and, like Jennifer's observatory, was in fact the source of the sky forms. The symbols ultimately emanate from our own being, and as such, some parts are familiar and some are to be discovered. The book in the sky is being written by us, revealing our selves to ourselves.

Glyphs, Trips, and "The Matrix"
Wow. Your drawing of the "writing in the sky" seems to further confirm my deeply felt hunch that I am certainly not the only one noticing previously hidden "information" which seems to be embedded, well ... just about everywhere. I am intensely curious as to both the significance and frequency of occurance of this phenomenon.
In my case, I first saw it "in my own eyes" during my first experience with the mushroom - even given a conservative dose of about 1.9 dry grams for my first time, I was absolutely in wonder of the fact that seemingly everywhere I placed my eyes and focus, what I can only describe as cuniform types of glyphs would appear to be flowing through whatever it was that I was looking at - most notably for me (that time at least) - all over my own body. Upon considering it, I immediately had the thought (that is, the thought literally just 'popped in there') of the Holodeck in "Star Trek: TNG" - Remember the episodes where they'd find themselves somehow 'trapped' in it, and one of the most notable clue-ins they'd get would often be glimpses of the actual machine, visually represented as "glitches" in the holographic imagery? ... Yeah. The striking similarity to "The Matrix" seems apparent as well...
Were these just hallucinations? Quite possibly! In the interest of discovering the truth, one surely must consider that. I am well aware that I have an often staggeringly active imagination. On the other hand, the consideration that I had little to no historical knowledge of these ancient cultures was something that I couldn't get past. I of course, felt a need to "go back" to the mushroom and investigate further. 10 trips later, I can certainly confirm the persistence of this phenomenon - during one of the most powerful experiences, I found myself walking around the city of philadelphia with a good friend of mine. (somewhat foolishly, in retrospect - an extremely profound '++++' experience outside in the middle of a large city, during the cold winter - at night - was harrowing to say the least) It was a clear night, and, at one point, I stepped out of a train station to be greeted by a full view of the skyline - complete with a massive, glassy pyramid (think blade runner) smack in the middle of it! Utterly amazing, and that really is just a footnote when it comes to the things that I have seen. That night in particular, I found myself repeating, over and over - "If I can just bring this back and show people, EVERYTHING can be OKAY!" - it was as heavy a thought as it sounds, and it felt like something I had been waiting my whole life to say - as if the puzzle pieces of existence had suddenly come together.
Having experienced these things myself, and also having confirmed that _every one_ of my friends have noticed similar phenomenon in their own experiences with the mushroom, I am dying to know if this happens to everyone else as well. How is it - WHY is it - that this is revealed in some way to all that partake? This question burns in my mind, and seems extremely relevant to the exponentially growing "question" I believe that everyone here is pondering each day.
Namaste!
butterflies as archetypes?
Hi, I've been following Reality Sandwich for some time but never before commented. Your writing about synchronicity compelled me to ask you something.
A few days ago (first week of January) I kept running into butterfly imagery, much of it explicitly tied to mysticism, synchronicity, etc. The first was in a horoscope. It's worth noting that I don't normally read horoscopes or take them particularly seriously, but was humoring my girlfriend. It said, "You're not yet out of the cocoon butterfly." I was then bombarded a few days later with butterfly images from unrelated films/TV shows I 'randomly' selected to watch (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Diving Bell & the Butterfly, I Am Legend). There were climactic instances in each tying butterflies to inner realities, psychics, belief in God, etc.
I was wondering if you had a similar experience or knew where I could find some information about what butterflies "mean." It seems like an obvious symbol for transformation and the like, but wanted some more insightful information on the topic.

My thoughts
Hi holdthemayo,
Please take another look at the Comment Guidelines at Reality Sandwich. "A"rgumentative and "A"ggressive postings are not the quality of discourse we welcome here. If you express disagreement, do it with civility.
In my view, your response here is typical of a reductive materialism that seeks to eliminate human consciousness from the concept of "truth". That cold, debilitating paradigm is responsible for nearly all of the problems now crashing down on us, and it too will pass. I am glad you are here reading articles on Reality Sandwich, although I question your motives for doing so.
To your suggestion that Mr. Topp "read some books," might I suggest one that you might find useful: A Secret History of Consciousness, by Gary Lachman.
And in your personal quest to grapple with why, throughout the course of history, the crises facing us in 2009 are incomparably different from challenging times in the past, check out Bryan Ursadt's cover feature in Harper's August 2006, "Scenes from a Liberal Apocalypse"
The Crash Course video series I discuss in a current piece on RS is also an infinitely valuable resource, that I would recommend very strongly you dedicate some of your time to viewing.

My Facebook Status before I read this article
This was my Facebook status before I read this article: "Sam says sometimes these synchronicities astonish me. It's like a storybook is written out to guide the growth of my consciousness... wait you're seeing it too?"
I wrote this because over the past few years or so, mainly since I started writing music, I've had this feeling that over time I've been "shown" or "taught" certain ideas, motifs, or philosophies that have been hidden in the experiences I have day to day or the media/entertainment I look in to. This is not an "inkling" anymore like it was in the beginning and just recently (I guess since the 6th day), I've started to become accustomed to the process and I'm now noticing instantly when these "messages" change. The only way I can explain it is that my consciousness is slowly starting to be peeled open by what I experience and certain themes and ideas stay constant for a limited amount of time until the world decides to "change the slide" and say "WELL NOW THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THIS, THINK ABOUT THIS IDEA...". and that new idea lasts about a couple months until the slide in the "projector" is changed. I'm so used to it at this point that it has been integrated with my belief of how the world works. It frustrates me being an 18 year old and already having all of this understanding and attending college with thousands of others who are not connected to this knowledge like I feel I am. It's sites like RealitySandwich, articles like this, and the comments that follow them that show me that so many other people across the globe are feeling and experiencing the same thing I am. We ARE connected, and it's a beautiful thing. I love you guys, and I can't wait until the whole "Orange Peel" is gone.
Thank you
Thanks for the kind words Don! I noticed it when I was 13 or 14 and it has been stronger since. I see it as intuition building, something becoming more endangered the more we as a society start depending on material things to gather information. I've always had a passion for subtlety.
I feel like sometimes the "hand" leads us to a flawed mindframe for the simple purpose of showing us the consequences of that particular archetype. This guidance is a blessing as well as a curse, because sometimes I wish I could just be ignorant of all the forces at work in order to be truly happy, ignorance is bliss. These people my age, other students and my friends, rely on materials, and pop-culture to supply them with the happiness they seek and it seems to work for them. They don't need to search for answers to life's questions like I do, only to constantly be told this archetype I've been "working" on for so long is flawed and maybe I should try another one, how about THIS ONE. The recent one I just entered I think has not only changed my outlook on everything, but also has made me more conscious of the process behind this "guiding hand". Since turning 18 it's been happening more frequently. The best way to communicate the overall change between archetypes is like this: two days after switching archetypes (roughly), I can look back on who I was two days ago, and say "wow, I was a totally different person then, than I am now, two days later" ( I look back at this past self with the sense that that self was a child compared to who I am today). But if I am still in the same archetype for a few months or so, I can look back a couple months and say "I havent changed at all, and my way of thinking seems to be perfect". It's right when I start crossing the border of over-confidence that the world seems to come to a screeching hault so that it can take time to utterly humble me and break down my walls. Do you have any similar experiences Don? Or anyone? Thanks for the feedback.
Hi, AnOpinMind
Thanks!
Thanks for the encouragement!
The problem I have with pinning down a date for a "shift" and the "movement" (if we can call it that, this relates to my quote at the bottom) in general are as follows : (this is an off-tangent rant, but I am going to get some things off my chest, I've been into topics on this website for 4 or 5 years, and I'm 23 now. Seeing The Matrix and reading the Allegory of the Cave really started me though, further back than that).
-It places our salvation on exogenous variables - something outside of us - like this day will somehow "save" us. We have to realize that we are all we have! We are not going to be shown some Earth-saving technologies by the Greys/Reptilians/whatever that will give us Utopia here on Earth. It's up to us to do it, whether the date of 2012 means something or not. If it does, then great! If not, then what? We need to really think about the then what.
-There is a certain smugness present to others who do not agree, or offer other viewpoints.
-We need change NOW, not in three years. Placing our hope in something that may or may not come is fruitless.
-Our imaginations often get the best of us. I have read Jung's book on synchronicity, and I think there are things that follow the acausual connecting principle, but seeing everything as a long string of endless synchronicities and trying to fit everything into a pre-existing thought paradigm is silly. If I have a belief system and am certain of it, of course I can take ANY event and retrospetively fit it in, it requires creativity, but it can be done.
-We need to have a plan of action. All of this pondering and pontificating over ion-belts, climate change on Saturn, Russian physicists arcane DNA-light experiments, Nibiru, ancient astronauts, Reptilian Overlords, etc, are nice and all, but there comes a time when we have to DO something and stop typing on our computers. Are we just spinning our intellectual wheels in the mud?
-Is 2012 our "Plan A?" If so, what's our "Plan B?" Should something that is so probabilistic be our Plan A? If it doesn't happen, what are we going to do? Put if off to another date? Blame a calendar misinterpretation (I can already see this happening)?
-Regarding quantum science, a lot of the theories that work on the quantum level do not translate to the macroscopic level, I think a lot of people assume the transferability of concept between scale.
-Our systems very well may be falling appart, but we need feasible ideas to fill the void, or those with power issues will. See the recent article on basing the economy on ecosystem with resiliency - probably the best article I have ever read on here (and I've read them all). Why? Because it is documented, lays out a plan, is tangible, and is actually based on prescedent (WIR). Things with these characteristics tend to work. On the other hand, we have the Venus Project. Technology will not be our savior.
-The political articles on here are sometimes ridiculous, hailing Obama as some sort of savior figure, a tired clique if you ask me. We need to get to the roots of the problem, the banking/monetary/finance system. We need viable alternatives. For instance, on this website http://www.change.org/ideas where citizens can put up important issues to be presented to Obama, ALL issues related to the Federal Reserve are deleted. Don't believe me? Try it, there are articles documenting people doing the same. The power system is in place to keep the power system in place, it's a feedback loop, "keeping the ball in play" as McKenna says.
-Read my quote at the bottom. There is not a final date. We have been and will be at constant battle between "up and down," authority and freedom - it's a harsh reality, but a true one - life, is suffering.
Peace.
"There is no final revolution. Revolutions are infinite."
Can I nominate you for a fellowship or something?
My goodness, OpinMind, you think so clearly and across so many (Arbitrary as they may be) disciplines and write so compellingly. At 23! Bravo!
Your statement about Jung is certainly better than anything I could say.
And you are paying Attention to so many Areas, from economies of scale to change.gov. Obviously, your knowledge in each area informs others.
Thanks for recommending the article on ecosystem resiliency - I'll read it. What do you think about the current piece on 'Pregnant with Meaning'? As a young man, can you relate to it?
Calendric recalibration. Isn't there a law against that, like setting back the odometer on your car before you sell it?
We are all we have. Yeah.
I agree with you that life is suffering. For some of us, some of life. For some of us, all of life. I have tried to help starving babies in impoverished areas who have never known anything but the empty breasts of their malnourished mothers, and watched their tiny lives wink out like fireflies.
But there is also joy. Between lovers, in solitude, in the sudden song of a starling, in the complexity of a string quartet or a genome, in the simplicity of a smile or a bite of a mango, in the satisfaction of a task well done. I wish you much joy, OpinMind.

Meaning of the syllable 'A' in proto-Sumerian terms
Dear Ora, It's nice of
Dear Ora,
It's nice of you to want to help the author out.
But this whole line of (I don't know if I should call it thought - how about ideational trajectory) reminds me of the plot of Ghostbusters: paranormal incidents occur with increasing frequency, leading the Ghost Guys to the conclusion that New York City faces a head-on collision with Gozer the Gozerian, aka Gozer the Destructor, a powerful Sumerian god.
Why is it that something from long ago and far away, something distant, exotic and unfamiliar has so much cachet on this site? Is there some reason to believe that ideas about the letter A (perhaps) held by Ancient Sumericans, are more meaningful than ideas about the letter held by the Seventh Day Adventist congregation down the street today?
I suggest that if you could talk to some ancient Sumerians at sufficent length, you would find that their ideas are just as mundane as anyone else's.
i salute holdthemayo for
i salute holdthemayo for poking humorous holes in a very subjective piece. i also believe wholly in the value of such subjectivity. at this point in time its clear that subjective outlook is important. an oppressive world has left many people feeling afraid of expressing the associative experiences and questions inside. this helps outragous crime go unnoticed. speak up, listen. the story is unfolding.
now is a wonderful time to share. and if someone makes fun of us, so be it, we laugh. a world of many truths is nothing if not funny. as for what these synchronistic subjective experiences mean, i don't know. they happen to me and i see them as the universe at play with me. after reading the article about the little green marijuana spirits in their castle with a pi symbol, i see pi symbols everywhere. i mean everywhere: tattoos, graffiti, all kind of matrix-y stuff. so what? i don't know. unfolding truth.... somehow this moment in time seems to me to ask us to be practical in our poetics, poetic in our practicality. i feel very drawn to understand the mechanics of finance, and i also feel a deeper than ever respect for the ebbs and flows of the songs in my head, in the heads of my friends. knowing one another well will mean accepting some oddball stuff. and knowing one another well will help us work for each other, not the soul-lacking extractionists who have been running things. no?
agreed a bit
//i also believe wholly in the value of such subjectivity. at this point in time its clear that subjective outlook is important.//
I agree with this, to a point. The problem is, those who are careening our civilization down the "Road to Serfdom" are not subjective at all, they are objective, reductionist, rationalists. Many, I would venture to say most, people in this RS community are subjective, which face-value is fine. The problem is the people who are objective are running the show, and will continue to run the show. Objectivity beats subjectivity in terms of practicality, regardless of intention, because historically, it produces results (good or bad). These people are in power for a reason, they have a plan, they are informed, and they are very smart (plus the whole banking/military system on their side doesn't hurt). Not to say their intent is good, it certainly isn't. But flowery prose will only get us so far, and maybe it will even cause detriment because there is an opportunity cost associated with it. There is a time and place for it, and now, in my opinion, is not the time. We are in 'crisis mood' and necessity indeed is the mother of invention. Can we channel the necessity into something objective with GOOD intention or will we sit idly by thinking about the 'what-ifs?'
//after reading the article about the little green marijuana spirits in their castle with a pi symbol, i see pi symbols everywhere. //
I pose to you the following ... did you see these symbols before the article? The were out of context before reading the article, but now they have context and subsequently you will notice them. This (synchronicity) ties into many different cognitive biases, which may be hard-wired within us, or socially acquired.
confirmation bias (the tendency to search for or interpret information in a way that confirms one's preconceptions)
selective perception (the tendency for expectations to affect perception).
availability cascade (a self-reinforcing process in which a collective belief gains more and more plausibility through its increasing repetition in public discourse)
patternicity effect (the tendency to find meaningful patterns in meaningless noise)
hindsight bias (filtering memory of past events through present knowledge, so that those events look more predictable than they actually were)
Alternately, Murphy's Law of Research dictates that "Enough research will tend to support your theory."
//i feel very drawn to understand the mechanics of finance//
That's great! The more people that learn, the better, both for you own good and that of society. The recent article on RS (Reinventing Money), like I said before, is very very good (but maybe not for basics). A good website I like getting information and news from is mises.org . My belief is the Austrian School of Economics best explains the past, and therefore, can be used for more accurate foresight.
Also, don't let your soul get extracted!
"There is no final revolution. Revolutions are infinite."
"the ebbs and flows of songs in my head"
That's beautiful, workin-it-out. Euphonious!
"...practical in our poetics, poetic in our practicality."
I love it.
Yeah, I know that knowing each other well means accepting some oddball stuff. You should meet my neighbors sometime.
As you feel drawn to understand the mechanics of finance (you are braver than I), I feel drawn to ask others to pay responsible attention to the world - a good example of which includes your desire to understand the mechanics of finance.
So I find the skepticism about evolution by natural selection by the author as off-putting as I do Sarah Palin's desire to have creationism taught in American schools. Not everything is best addressed subjectively.
Palin, if you remember, also belonged, and still has close ties, to a church in which members speak in tongues, and have God Warriors or something equally attractive, and have their own Apocalypic vision, in which folks like you and I would be toast.
May the songs in your head be sweet.

Hey Don,
The terms I used (the cognitative biases) are just some common psychological textbook terms (they may be in a book, they probably are, but I am not aware of one specifically).
I get a lot of what you are saying, and agree with some of it. I'll have to check that book out, if it challenges my preconceived notions, then all the better!
Are our assumptions castles made of sand? I was just listening to a radio program the other day and they were saying how for politicians to change their mind is viewed terrible (I was never a fan of this), but scientists are SUPPOSED to change their minds in light of conflicting evidence.
There are two ways to go about life (usually I don't break things up dualistically, but I think this is a valid case); you can use a thought-paradigm and take all information and fit it into the paradigm - here your thought-paradigm remains static. The other option is to take conflicting evidence to your current thought-paradigm and build upon, or even drastically change it - in this case you are dynamic. I tend to go with the latter. Static dulls you, you become content with your current situation, being content leads to stagnation, intellectually and otherwise. I think a question that everyone should ask themselves occassionally is, "am I married to my theories and willing to follow them to the grave, even though conflicting evidence shows them to be most likely wrong." This little test keeps us honest and allows to transcend blockages we may be experiencing.
"There is no final revolution. Revolutions are infinite."
synchronicity is deeply personal
is it profound?
//That doesn't mean it's dopey, though, to share them. It's important to share the feelings, I think, perhaps more than the details, because that is what is most real.//
Sharing them is cool with friends, family, this website, etc, but because they are so personal I don't think they should be taken as empirically true. Also, the extremely personal aspect discredits the notion that two people, or multiple people, can have the same synchronitic (I don't think that's a word) events meaning the same thing, does it not? Again though, the whole thing may be symptom of cognitative bias(es). Just last night I had what may be described as an event - as I was reading something on the internet about The Beatles song "Help" the song simultaneously started to play at the hockey game I was watching on TV. Now, this can be seen a coincidence, or I can try and find some arbitrary meaning or value to assign to it that fits in with my pre-established world view and life-context. Taken a step further I can try and associate it to society-wide trends, does any of this even make sense for me to do?
Everything makes sense in retrospect, but, does it offer foresight? If the latter, then maybe we need to examine closer! In general, the whole concept seems analagous to the "fine-tuned" universe argument for god, which says the probability is too low for the fine-tuned constants for things to be random.
"There is no final revolution. Revolutions are infinite."
synchronistic - is it a word?
Well, Wikipedia, the free dictionary web site, and a site by that same name (.com) all suggest that if it wasn't, it is now. A word was born and it came so silently that no one heard it, UNTIL NOW! Ha, ha! I don't wish to offend AnOpinMind, but you sound like someone who is synchronistically (note a potential new morph on a newish word) challenged to me. You don't "try and find some meaning to some coincidence" - that's just it, you profoundly feel you know the meaning and that's what makes it a synchronistic event.
Feedback loop
It's true that synchronicity is a deeply personal experience, which is why sharing it with others is a very difficult thing to do. The limitations of language make it hard to convey the bliss and uncanny feeling of being led from one discovery to another. I think John does an amazing job of explaining what it was like.
I think there are certain patterns and connections being revealed in the world right now--whether it's through art, popular media or social networking--i think humanity is in the progress of communicating something to itself. I think of this "something" as being like a repressed memory for humanity as a whole-- information about ourselves that we pushed down and made unconscious that is becoming conscious on a mass scale.

I think..
//i think humanity is in the progress of communicating something to itself//
I think this "itself" is understanding what itself truly is, which is painful (certainly what we are experiencing on a society-level is too, which may give more credence to the theory), much akin to a birthing process - so, I agree!
"There is no final revolution. Revolutions are infinite."
And so we come back to:
What is "skepticism", really?
Hey holdthemayo,
What does it mean to be skeptical? I once heard, and was disinclined to research since it was seemingly reinforced by common sense/observation, that depressed people tend to ignore connections/meaning/”synchronicities”, whereas schizophrenic people go overboard in drawing connections between unrelated things, frequently falling into paranoia.
After reading Grant Morrison's advice to (paraphrased) “listen to the world as if it's trying to tell you something”, I gave it a shot and “asked” a nearby plastic bag full of empty coin rolls what they had to say about the idea. My “interpretation” came back “the technique is transparent/non-requiring-of-doctrine in itself (plastic bag), but is valued for the data carriers it contains (coin rolls), though the universality of their information can be distorted by their specific surface appearance (printed denominations curving around the surface of the rolls).”
In a probably-related deflationary-ju-jitsu vein, Ken Wilber once gave a heroically diplomatic interpretation of David Icke's reptoid theory: (paraphrased) “... it may be an intuition that current world leaders are too dependent on archaic, lizardlike emotional processing”.
I'm also thinking of RAW's (did he coin it?) dictum “what the thinker thinks, the prover proves”, and the example he once gave of someone taking a deliberately silly belief (that a cartoon mascot was God) and looking into it only to actually Find Stuff (the mascot's creator said it came to them in a dream, it corresponded to ... ancient alphabets ... I forget).
Point is, whatever else the human mind is, it's a pattern-finding device, and the universe does (you'll grant) contain patterns: it's healthy/salutary for some people to stretch the limits of the means of pattern-finding (dream-logic, connection hopping), so long as they don't cling too rigidly to their “findings”, and even if the patterns found are usually/probably just trick/coaxed out of unconscious lurking (why is the Final Conclusion of these narratives so often “we are entering a time when everyone will be Very Nice To Each Other?” - see also: John Edwards – death makes you bland and smarmy? – people have been “channeling” this hallmarkian non-news since the seventies, and where's my telepathy?). At least they found a new way to think. Even if it's not very good. You know, Faces In Clouds aren't "really" there, but they advance understanding (or whatever) the same way space travel inadvertenly suggests new plastics, or whatever.
Anyway. I think I talked myself out of a counterpoint to your skeptical offensive. I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic earlier - do you have any interest in These Things (RS stuff) at all, or do you just salve your existential chapping with dry wit?
Different types of Synchronicities
Propaganda Anonymous
The first time I became aware of the notions of Synchronicities, they/it seemed so surreal to me.Reality had become psychedelic. Perhaps all that talk about 'you take acid 7 times and you stay tripping' was right!Nearly everything now became significant.
I'd be reading a book and a Ghostface Killa song and Ghost would say the exact word I was reading on the page.I'd be reading about Nietzsche one moment, and then when I would turn on the TV there would be an Alfred Hitchcock movie talking about Nietzsche.
At the time I found all this stuff greatly amusing and it also helped bring some positive energy into my life, which was very much needed. I had grown used to things being hollow and somewhat random. The personally meaningful conicidences were nice.
Over time, I noticed patterns to my synchronicities. And I will just say that some meaningful coincidences are more meaningful than others. And pretty much leave it at that.
I do think that there is really something to Synchronicity. I think that it is saying something about our relationship with "reality" that goes beyond materialistic perceptions of the universe. I also think that looking for synchronicities also increases the chances of finding them, and that we can become aware of our awareness there.
Synchronicities also increase the deeper one gets into the study of depth psychology, Magick, psycehdelics, and some other stuff.
My opinion, the next step is then looking at some of the things one is now experiencing as a Synchronicity and doing the math, i.e. probability, and questioning if it was just a coincidence after all. That's the fun part.
Old barometers we have passed down to us, when it comes to accessing "higher" levels of consciousness, has come from traditions that utilize paradox to teach a lesson. I.E. The Zen Koan.
I think this is a key element in all this stuff. It seems like it's part of the lesson. I think anything that keeps the mind on it's toes is a good thing, hopping from one sinking stone to another.
And if there are some good deep belly laughs along the way, then I think that truly shows "progress"
How about this
True indeed

A psychic awakening all across the world?
Dear John and others,
I did not wish to say this openly, but have had recent psychic experiences similar to yours as well. My working hypothesis to explain these anomalies is that our crop artist friends (yes, the same guys who contacted Daniel in 2003, or made Barbury Castle in 2008) are now extending the scope of their contact program beyond England or Europe, with less than four years left until December 2012.
Just for your information, Mike Reed in North Carolina solved Barbury Castle on June 5, 2008, sent an email to Linda Howe, then she forwarded it to me. Quickly I wrote up his "pi" solution with nice figures on www.cropcircleconnector.com/2008/barbury/barburyRC2008a.html Forensic inspection of the field by Charles Mallet and others showed conclusively that no humans had been there when it first appeared.
Those crop artists are also "psychic wizards", and clearly possess the capability for directed information transfer by dreams and/or telepathy, if they wish. Could they indeed be spirits and not purely material lifeforms? Nobody currently knows.
Strange letters have been appearing in our sky, not only in dreams, but also in UFO videos. Nobody currently has decoded such information, nor even knows what language they are written in!
My own cognitive dream (in mid-October of 2008) came from 10 very friendly e.t. spirits, who sang a beautiful song in some alien language, part of which asked me to contact another person overseas whom I had never heard of or met: by name! With some trepidation, I followed their hypnotic-like instructions, and did indeed contact a person in Canada who had recently written a book about the Emerald Tablet of Hermes and the upcoming year 2012. After seeing her book, and learning about the Emerald Tablet, I quickly solved one of the last major crop pictures of 2008, namely East Field of August 25: see www.cropcircleconnector.com/2008/eastfield4/eastfield2008d.html Again, nobody had any idea before what it meant. It tells about "seven steps to spiritual transformation".
Well, maybe my dream-contacted friend in Canada will tell the whole story soon, so we can pool information from other people like John or Jennifer, to figure out what this all means? What exactly are they trying to tell us? It has to be more than the "letter A"!
Thanks
Red Collie,
Thanks for sharing that fascinating story. Your interpretation of that crop circle, and the dream invovled is very interesting and I'll look into your stuff some more. I've also had the experience of being led to a specific individual, through syncs involving the number 22. I haven't spent much time interpreting crop formations and I'd like to do that. I wouldn't say that it is the circle makers per se that are creating sychronicities, as syncs I suspect have always been a part of this life. But I would say they are related.
Regarding pooling of information, this is something that's been on my mind lately. I'm thinking about ways to consolidate these diverse bits of material. Perhaps we should keep in touch about that.
In the case of this article, the "A" itself is not intended to be the information, but a symbol with meaning that I interpreted from it's context in the two dreams and subsequent experiences.
Also, I did go into the recent UFO symbol sightings in the article so you might find that of interest. In one sighting, there were latin numerals.
Best,
John
winks
Great article John.
I too have noticed an increase over the last several years. I find they come in waves and can be affected by diet and exercise - ramped up by eating right, light, and by keeping my yoga practice steady. Further still, they have been incredible in the days after visiting with the Vine.
But I also find simply hearing and reading of other people's synchronistic experiences can help awaken them.
While I was reading Daniel Pinchbeck's 2012: The Return..., and his discussion of how he and his friends were experiencing an increase, it activated one of those several-day waves for me. It was as if reading well-written thoughts about synchronicities prompted (?) confirmed (?) legitimized (?) amplified (?) my own waves.

Wondering if a new word or phrase could catch hold, something between "coincidence" and "synchronicity" - that addresses the little ones with more respect than "coincidence". I've liked the phrase "synch wink" that I think Kotze and the synchromystic scene have coined.
I do recognize that the little connections can be taken too far. However, if it's been quiet for a while, winks with even a little significance seem like important gifts. Moreover, one of the messages conveyed through the vine was that everything is so inter-connected we cannot even come close to comprehending it in the usual ways we comprehend things with our humble human brains.
Actually, Propaganda A's first 2-line comment nicely sums up what I'm trying to say!
Thanks for this article John, and to Jennifer's which I'll have to go back to. It's great that you're recording your experiences and inviting friends to participate.

Communication
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the comments. I like the phrase "ideational trajectory". I would say that there are lots of different kinds of synchronicities and I do think the content of them is often important, as I've tried to show in this article. I would guess that your Albania synchronicities would hold some sort of trajectory to be followed. I think this is a form of communication that we're just learning how to interpret.
Thanks,
John
Hi everyone
What I think is going on is
What I think is going on is that myself and others, maybe on some level everyone, are receiving communications of some form through synchronicities. I would liken the quality or resolution of a synchronicity to the quality of a radio or tv transmission. Many of us experience a sort of middling quality of syncs on a regular basis. They are somewhat interesting but nothing to write home, or RS, about.
Some people, some of the time, may get syncs of a higher quality that may contain information. Perhaps all syncs contain information, but it is only when they get to a certain level of complexity and precision that they can convey something that can be interpreted. So the kinds of syncs you experience may be a matter of psychic reception, and experiencing, or more accurately "receiving", syncs may be a form of mediumship.
I think that the question of whether or not synchronicities are simply a creative interpretation of random chance is the same question as posed by intelligent design. In seeing order in a set of elements that we had assumed to be random, we might ask "Is there intelligence involved?" Intelligent design, not creationism, looks at the unfathomable complexity and order of biological form and says "This can be only the result of intelligence". The neo-Darwin crew will say that order in biology is the result of "design without a designer", as the order arose as a result of the environment gradually honing organisms through selection. This is a fundamentally dishonest proposal in light of everything we know today about biology, and you can start with DNA if you want to look into that.
We often see hostility coming from the materialist crew, masked as indignance at the so-called superstitious tendencies of the "believers". This is in fact a deep frustration that arises from their own cognitive dissonance, or their lack of security in their own belief systems, which are increasingly being demonstrated as inaccurate. When we see a tendency towards hostility, it is a sign that there are unresolved internal conflicts that are being externalized.
I think that it is important to share your experiences if you feel that they are extraordinary, rather than hiding them away. This way we can try to integrate these experiences into a larger sense of what our consensus reality is.
Good Stuff & A Possibly Relevant Dream
Hi All,
Long time reader, first time commenter. I've read so many RS articles that I've been inspired to comment on, but it seems that this one provides and opportunity to share a particularly significant dream I had recently. So I am using this as my RS maiden voyage, my first comment, an introduction. Hello! I'm making my way to the middle of the river, trying to keep my head up, looking around. There you are.
I won't comment specifically on what others have said here already or on the article itself, except to say how much I've enjoyed reading everything so far and look forward to reading more. Instead I want to ask you folks if the imagery and timing of my said dream resonates with you. If so, any interpretations, and thoughts at all?
So, the dream. It took place around 3am on the morning of January 6th, 2009. I found myself, after a series of events I won't get into here, on a castle's veranda, a grand balcony overlooking a forested valley, part of which had been cleared for some kind of mining operation. In the sky, I noticed a strange and beautiful cloud formation, a cylindrical formation stretching toward the horizon like a hose. This slinky-like cloud formation had spokes coming out from its center to its edges, exactly like a wagon wheel. I was completely mesmerized, taking it in, and then realized that no one would believe me if I described it, that I needed to document it, and so began fumbling through my bag, which was suddenly by my side, looking for my digital camera. I couldn't find the camera. I did, however, pull out my phone, which is quite old but does have a camera feature, and, determined to capture this strange wheel-tube in the sky, held my phone out in front me. Just then, an identical wheel-tube, this one more like an apparition than a cloud, began extending at a ninety-degree angle from the original formation, and I was overcome by the realization that I was witnessing a very important event, a paradigmatic shift - yes, something like a trigger - and I was absolutely overjoyed! There was a sense of, "finally, at long last, it can begin, the shift!" Just then I sensed I was in great danger, and a split-second after that realization, a great light shot out from the apparition extension, off toward the horizon in the same direction the cloud-wheel-tube extended, and I instantly awoke, covered in goose-pimples. Shaken. I immediately grabbed my old cassette recorder and documented the dream.
So that's it. It seemed relevant for whatever reason.
Also, I've been meaning to ask for ages if any of you fellow New York RS-ers caught this sky over the summer: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dc-bw2736/2728890038/
John, thanks for the thought provoking piece. I loved it.
Peace.
Shift
Goatberg,
It means a lot to me that yourself and others have felt encouraged to share some of their dreams and synchronicities after reading this article.
Your dream makes me think more about an idea I've had on my mind to create some sort of system for gathering this kind of material, that people feel are transmissions, and seeing what can be done with it. It's like we are all getting these little puzzle pieces.
As for an interpretation, it does seem that your dream is prophetic of a shift.
Best,
John
Cylinders of light
Hi Goatberg and All,
I'm super glad to see so many people sharing their synchs. I like too the idea of calling them something like synch winks a la Jake Kotze. Jake has an excellent blog about synchronicity and has been featured on RS in the past:
http://www.realitysandwich.com/9/11_synchronicities
I could go into a million things about the phenomenon of synchronicity, as it has become a large focus in my art and life in general. I will try to keep this short and to the point. i was blown away to read about Goatberg's dream of the cloud cylinder of light. I know it sounds crazy, but this past July I wrote a scene into my novel about just such a cylinder!!! i based what I wrote upon a waking dream/hallucination /imagination that I had while sitting on my bed against the wall in June (will have to check exact dates) I looked out my window at the branches of the tree that hangs over my fire escape and for a few moments its brilliant white blossoms appeared as connected in a cylinder of beautiful light, draped around the tree like garland. What's more but within the tube it seemed like there were faces--outlines of faces but quite abstract...It was wild...i saw the whole thing out of my peripherel vision.
As I said, it only lasted a few minutes, but during the time I was very conscious that what i was looking at was more than just an optical trick. It was real--and by that I don't mean "subjective" or "objective", but a sublime mixture of the two, which I believe is the case with all reality. I prefer to refer to phenomena--or that which appears. This term isn't perfect but it gets closer to the co-creational aspect of all that we experience.
There was something about the cylinder and the faces that was "alien". I put that in quotes because they also seemed to be a part of that tree--and by that I mean a part of our planet. Maybe they are already here and always have been--or maybe they visit at different points, go away and come back. Whatever the case, I don't think they are newbies to this planet.
The other thing I wanted to mention about Goatberg's comment is the cloud aspect. This past November I had a second strange occurrence involving the same feeling/sensation of otherness. This time it was on a beach in Florida. I saw the same face from the cylinders again--only this time it was in the clouds themselves. It was a completely wild experience that i haven't communicated to anyone until today. I've been writing about it for the past two weeks in the hope that it can go up here on RS. I go into lots of detail about what I saw and how it felt.
Thanks so much for communicating this--I think as John said that communication is key. The more of us who realize we aren't alone than the less fear there will be about whatever is happening.
I for one am very excited! The feeling I had when I looked at the tree in the summer and the clouds in November was one of profound joy! I think amazing things are happening and I'm so thankful to be a part of it with all of you!
peace,
jp

Thank You John
After reading this article I decided to begin documenting sync's from recent memory (so dec to now) and i'm already up to 10 powerful and personal sync's.
A few months ago I had a very strong, long and lucid dream that centered around a snake that I knew was changing people and that if I got bit that I would change as well. Then in waking life A shaman friend of mine indicated that this snake represented a kundalini awakening and that I had been called to action/wake up. A couple weeks later I was telling a lover about this, and his face went white from having a similar dream with a snake. Most recently I was talking about this with a new lover (i'm busy!) and he too freaked because just last week he dreamt a man with a 'devilish' face at the foot of his bed caressing a snake around his head and telling my friend that he would see why he was there...and then waking up just before the snake stroke.
Since I was a child I remember seeing my uncle's house which I viewed as grand and expensive at just over $100k, that impression has always been on my mind as I've seen the cost of houses increase so dramatically. In fact it's a common theme in this grouping of themes that seem to rotate in my head from time to time. I know something in me kept this on my mind but I was not confident enough to know why. Now I do.
About 2 month ago I was at my mom's out back smoking with her and she was telling me about all these bees that just seemed to commit suicide by diving right into her pool for no reason. 10 or so a day. We also observed this ominous wind about that day. Afterwards I head home and pop in a movie (movie's seem to correlate a lot to my syncs) not knowing A THING about it called the happening. The opening scene talks about bees and their disappearance, then these winds come through carrying some element that makes people commit suicide.
Most recently I've been on my balcony smoking and noticing all these flocks of birds continuously flying by. I live not by a lake or anywhere very green (i'm in arizona) so i've been observing this with curiosity (or just paying attention, not sure which). 3 days after noticing this we had that plane go down yesterday from a "flock of birds". My timing is improving. I used to get upset at the almost pointlessness of the synchronicities I observed in my life (like watching ellen on tv and her playing taboo with her guests, then that night going to a friend's who pulled out the game taboo for us to play and no more than 10mins into the game was a taboo card discarded facing me titled "Ellen Degeneres".
I think for those of us who experience these synchronicities on a large/continuous scale might be somewhat ahead of the game/older souls/incarnated beings here with a specific purpose - I'm still trying to understand what that is, but at least I can see now they are not pointless, in fact it just takes paying attention to the mundane ones to get to where you can almost play with them and learn from them. This article will help me do just that, so thanks.
Recording
Justin.thyme,
A couple of hours ago my brother-in-law made a bad joke, asking "What is the herb that heals all wounds...Thyme". Anyway.
Those events you described sound very much like the kind of stuff I get too.
I think that writing these things down is the best thing you can do. I remember hearing when I was 13 or 14 that writing dreams down made your dreams more real and intense. I started doing it and it did make a difference. I think it's the same with synchronicities, and really they are dream-like events.
I'd be interested to know how the recording affects your experiences, maybe drop me a line sometime.
John
dreams provoking belly-dropping fear
it's so hard to know if these experiences are merely intensely numinous subjective things or things pulled from the collective unconscious. It's true that one can get into a feedback loop that is self-reinforcing, thereby diminishing the potential for true astral or collective experience. And we must pay attention if we're going to collect empirical data about this and "prove" it, but are we just getting excited about something because it seems to reveal information about our own psyche? What's more fascinating than that, right? I have definitely been hearing much over the past few years from folks who feel a sense of time/evolution speeding up and synchronicities increasing -- even from the most skeptical among us. But often those that are searching for meaning will find it anywhere they can, and we have no system for separating wheat from psychic chaff.
I know that a dream I had a few years ago woke me up in the middle of the night with a feeling of "profound elation/belly-dropping fear" as described in the article. It was around 2003-2004, and was set in a place I can only describe as Stonehenge. At the time, however, this stuff was totally off my radar and my only association with Stonehenge was Spinal Tap. It was only last fall, November of 2008, when I was reading Daniel's 2012 book, that I recalled the dream. In it, there were a bunch of people marching around the stones in rags, and I asked where they were going. One pointed to one of the walls which said "The answer is 3.14". When I read about the golden ratio -- Phi or 3.14 and its connection to Stonehenge in Daniel's book, I thoroughly freaked out. So was this information encoded in my mind through the collective unconscious? Was I tapping into something psychically? I still have no clue. All I know is that I woke up in a cold sweat, and that's totally subjective.
A fork in our historical timeline: two clouds
Dear John, Goatberg and others,
That cloud-wagon-wheel dream could be interpreted as a "change in our current timeline" as we approach 2012 through directed outside intervention: whether psychic, crop pictures, UFOs, letters in the sky, or whatever.
Interesting that you were also led to a specific individual. See the book "Phoenix Star" about Egypt, the Mayans and 2012 for my dream contact (by name!). Some people think that her excellent book should be made into a movie.
The "pi-Stonehenge" dream which was associated with Barbury Castle has just been further documented as paranormal, see www.cropcircleconnector.com/2008/barbury/Archimedespi.html
I don't believe that "Jungian archetypes" could be doing all of these things. That theory seems too narrow in scope. Rather, we may be receiving messages of assorted kinds from energy beings ('spirits') who usually inhabit other spacetime locations, that are intended to help us evolve (or change our timeline) before some momentous event in late 2012.
Further documentation and study might therefore prove useful.
I can understand why the pure materialists might get upset. Yet by their narrow attitudes, they may be excluding themselves from participation in this important worldwide trend. Can one find truth simply by reading peer-reviewed scientific journals from our libraries? Of course not, those texts only tell what is happenning in scientific laboratories today, based on corporate or government grants that tend to be very conservative in their nature.
So why not become more open-minded and join in?
18 years ago at Barbury: hyper-dimensional physics and 2012?
Quite right, Jeff! Eighteen years ago in the same general area at Barbury Castle, another ratchet-type spiral appeared. We only learned recently (18 years later) that it represents our Sun in terms of hyper-dimensional physics. Indeed, the entire picture was oriented in the field precisely due North as required to represent that theory: www.cropcircleconnector.com/anasazi/time2007s.html
Nassim Haramein has discussed the same concept in his work: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ekGJC5HFDlE
This strange idea may be very relevant to the year 2012, because when we change galactic aligment, will some hypothetical flow of energy through our Sun also change?
I wish more people could catch on to these difficult but important ideas. You can imagine it to be like the "Big Bang", but still happening to some extent today, and not just 15 billion years ago.

Awesome Article!!
This is all great stuff, and
Impulse telepathy between humans
Relevant to the previous post, which suggested that some of us (at least) will evolve into a telepathic state soon, I studied that subject a bit some years ago, and made an interesting discovery that others can test at home.
If two people get together and join their brain EEG signals in a Tesla-type resonance (50 watts of power) around 4 to 7 Hz, then sometimes the thoughts from one person's brain will resonate in the other person's brain, just like an electronically emitted mobile phone signal.
Trying to transfer simple instructions is best: say to pick up a pencil, move a chair, or so on.
When I showed that technique to a young neurobiology graduate student (a close friend), she was shocked, especially when I suggested that we repeat the same experiment under controlled conditions in her fMRI laboratory. No, that would get her into deep trouble, and shock her Professor! Only mental defectives could be studied there, say with neuroses or schizophrenia.
A few rare witnesses have said that humans from other worlds don't use verbal or written language as we do, but instead transmit pictures by telepathy. Well, I can believe it: maybe they are more evolved than us in that technique? As John Locke once wrote, "Someone with the eyesight of a mole should not deny the eyesight of an eagle."
Some training in hypnosis or biofeedback may be needed to achieve the special resonance conditions described above, yet the effect lies well within our standard rules of electromagnetic physics, especially since certain parts of our brain contain iron-rich receptor proteins (mainly ferritin).
The electromagnetic waveform from one person's brain simply transfers through space into the other person's brain, where it is absorbed by similar receptor proteins, and is decoded by their brain in much the same way as an ordinary thought.
My doctor said
www.notherpoet.com
I posted below before reading your post. I forgot to mention I have nickel clips in my head. Fifteen tiny transmitters. So, no, really are you serious? How do two (or more?) people go about joining their brains' "EEG signals in a Tesla-type resonance (50 watts of power) around 4 to 7 Hz"? I ask in all seriousness. My doctor told me that the sounds I heard (described below) may have been radio waves jumping, that they were probably actual sounds and that I didn't have to be concerned about my mental health (he's an awesome doctor).
