Blogosphere DJ Battle

Starting today, March 5th, Turntable.fm is holding a several-round contest to find someone to DJ a (remote) 30-minute set at their SXSW Interactive event on March 10th.  The winner will also receive a swank ASUS Zenbook UX31 Series Ultrabook powered by Intel. 

The first pre-event is a DJ Battle with 32 contestants plus some very special blogosphere/media participants, including RS and Evolver co-founder, Daniel Pinchbeck.

DJs will be competing in groups of four, with the best DJ from the round advancing. We’re trying to keep the rounds to about an hour, so that’s three five minute songs each. The schedule is going to look something like this:

3/5 - Round 1, Day 1. Four 1-hour-long DJ battles, four DJs at a time; 4 advance
3/6 - Round 1, Day 2. Four 1-hour-long DJ battles, four DJs at a time; 4 advance
3/7 - Round 2, Two 1-hour-long DJ battles, 4 DJs at a time, followed by
The Finals, The two remaining DJs in a 30-minute battle.
3/10 - The Party, The winner of the battle DJs at our event at SXSW Interactive from
7:30-8:00pm
