Darwin attributes the development of the prefrontal cortex to the nurturing of love and altruism. This particular neural grouping constitutes the high point of evolution to date. Somewhere along the way, however, nurturing was compromised. Today, nurturing, as needed by our species and the Earth, has all but disappeared.  (more)
