Reality Sandwich is a proud media sponsor of Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics

September 25-27

Horizons, now back for a third year, is a forum for learning about and discussing psychedelics. The goal of the weekend is to "open a fresh dialogue about psychedelics and rethink their role in medicine, culture, history, spirituality and art."

Psychedelics have been used by humans for thousands of years, but have only come into popularity in the western world in the past fifty years. In the 1950s and 1960s, academic research using the psychoactive drugs began taking place, resulting in both important discoveries in the fields of psychology and neuroscience, and the exposure of psychedelics to the public.

The academic research slowed and psychedelics began to gain a reputation. "Questions about their safety, medical value, history and implications in politics and culture were unfortunately answered with numerous myths spread by both their users and the media."

Horizons gathers the brightest minds and the boldest voices of the renewed psychedelic movement for an open forum on the subject.

Speakers for the weekend include:

Alicia Danforth
Earth Erowid
Fire Erowid
Bob Jesse
Andy Letcher
Valerie Mojeiko
William A. Richards
Steven Ross, M.D.
Franz X. Vollenweider, M.D.
