Ayahuasca Monologues Call Out

Ayahuasca Monologues Marqueelp.jpg

Do you have an amazing story you’d like to share about an encounter with ayahuasca? Over the past three years, I've produced an annual performance in New York with Reality Sandwich called "The Ayahuasca Monologues: Tales of the Spirit Vine," where writers, artists, scientists, filmmakers and musicians have told their most mind-bending, soul-bearing, ayahuasca stories. The series has been a great success, drawing enthusiastic crowds who are eager to learn more about aya and the experiences of those who have come to know her.

Due to the success of these “Ayahuasca Monologues,” we have been publishing a series of written “Ayahuasca Monologues” on Reality Sandwich. We're inviting you to submit your best personal narrative concerning your experiences with ayahuasca for publication on the site. I am currently compiling a book from these pieces, although publication on Reality Sandwich does not guarantee inclusion in the book (we have to see how it all comes together).

We encourage you to send in your stories in the next couple of weeks if you'd like them to be considered for RS and the book. Also, if you aren’t familiar with the format of “The Ayahuasca Monologues,” I recommend watching thia well-crafted tale by Adam Elenbaas. A

All monologues must be personal stories. The most successful ones usually aren’t mere “drug trip” accounts but tell a journey from where you were in your life at the time and the transformation that an ayahuasca adventure brought about. Also, it often helps not to overwrite this -- simply tell your story. Submissions can range from 1,000-5,000 words. Send your stories to me, jonathan(at)evovler(dot)net with “Ayahuasca Monologues Submission” in the subject line.

I look forward to reading about your with experiences this sacred brew.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Hope I can meet the deadline...

Hello Jon, We met at the Philly Spore last month, I went to dinner with Ken, Daniel, and yourself. First of all thank you for having my wife and I, eventhough we didnt talk a great deal. Anyway my wife and stepdaughter, and myself are travelling to Peru in June for our first Aya experience with the shaman and shamanesses of the amazon basin. I would love to write a great piece about this, we will be leaving June 12th and returning June 26th. Is this too far away to meet submission requirements. Thanks, Bob
