Arctic Humor

In a New Jersey town in 1992, a waitress named Alex Hallatt started drawing what is now known as Arctic Circle, a comic strip featuring three immigrant penguins, a snow bunny and a polar bear. Using humor to bring the Arctic Circle’s melting ice and other climate changes into awareness, the strip often jokes about pollution, cloned meat, mass-production and materialism.
Ms. Hallatt provides tips on her website on how to reduce the impact your waste has on the planet, stating that “Human activity has increased the levels of greenhouse gases and human activity can decrease them.” You can view a few of her strips on her website or on the King Features site for free.
