The Amero: Fact or Conspiracist Fiction?

amero-full.jpg

The Internet has been bubbling with several new theories proposing a governmental conspiracy to create a unified currency for all of North America. The move would be similar to the unification of European countries’ monetary systems into the Euro with the amero replacing the U.S. Dollar, the Canadian Dollar and the Peso.

Whether the Amero is real or just a theory is yet to be determined. If a new currency is really on the horizon, then why is it receiving so little publicity? Why did the signing of an agreement between the U.S., Canada and Mexico receive so little media attention. And why wasn't there a need for congressional approval? Even NAFTA did that.

This was an executive agreement signed only by the leaders of the three countries. Moving forward in what some consider a play to solidify "the North American Union," the leaders of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico met on August 21 to discuss a cooperative effort under what is now called the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. Released documents don't mention if the amero was discussed during this meeting. (See the joint statement here.) An eery inclusion in this agreement might allow for military management in case of flu outbreaks. The official website contains much information denying that the agreement has far-reaching implications, including that of the possibility of a new currency. In the controversial movie Zeitgeist, the SPP is seen as a step to a North American Union as part of the plan to create a One World Government.

Much online discussion has been stimulated by both the amero and the SPP, which some claim is illegal and violates anti-trust laws. According to CBC News, congress is attempting to block funds for participation of congressional members in SPP working groups. Funding is certainly a concern as the agreement calls for protecting the safety of North America, which could mean the commitment of U.S. forces to aid Mexico and Canada in patrolling borders. It is questionable how the terms of the agreement will be enforced, particularly with opposition in the Canadian parliament and the U.S. congress.

Who knows? If Bush pushes the limits of the agrement, the amero may not turn out to be just a conspiracist dream.

Conspiracy theories aside, this thing is one to watch and perhaps dance around (away). What's a bit scary here is not so much the monetary thing (money, nations - old hat) but the potential for the 'Virus that is America' spreading in power down into Mexico and up into Canada in ways beyond the obvious like culture, media etc. Ways like laws and 'order'.

Also, longtime ago a friend told me this little line:

Canada and Mexico are bordering on the insane.

Look at the facts

Lets put aside the Amero for a second, and not focus on one facet of this corrupt organization. Proof of the North American Union in existence is evident with several instances.

The NAFTA Superhighway is a corridor that will begin in southern Mexico and expand intravenously throughout the country into Canada. The TTC or Trans Texas Corridor is evidence of the beginning stages. Just recently, Mexican trucks were granted full access to US roads.

North Carolina just issued a new driver's license with a holographic security logo depicting North America. This is the transition into the National ID Card implemented by the Real ID Act.

22 Congressmen have also written an opposition to the President in regards to the North American Union. Hell, the ideology of a NAU is already being taught in colleges.

Why are they doing this in secret you ask? Because it would cause an uproar of unfathomable magnitude, and their agenda would crumble. It's being created much similar to how the European Union was established. The EU was in effect for almost 50 years before being disclosed publicly. Secondly, president Bush has affirmed that he is above the law, and does not need congress' approval. Fortunately, many people are waking up to this, and hopefully it will disrupt their destructive plan. My primary concern with a NAU is no United States, no US = no US Constitution.

We shall see while we dance

I had the urge to just dance around this...a bit like dancing with the devil in the writing of it. I was also just shocked at the lack of media coverage. The disease of western/northern/big brother corportization globalization (running out of pseudonyms...), etc. is creeping in, but I think it will reach a breaking point. Or at least I have a hope that something will reverse the trend.

To feel secure and to prosper - dance!

Yes, the lack of media coverage is sad, but I guess it's to be expected.

Interestingly, what did get a lot of coverage during the meeting was this;

A protest occuring during the event led to controversy, when labour leaders accused police of disguising themselves as demonstrators in order to incite violence. The Quebec Provincial Police have admitted to the claims of police disguising themselves as demonstrators but denied any attempts to incite violence.

shock doctrine

Naomi Klein has a new book out, The Shock Doctrine, about how Milton Friedman's economic "scorched earth" policies have been instituted in an undemocratic way. There is a nice video of her thesis here:

Here thesis is that crisis is utilized to allow for the "turn of the screw" that ups the ante of the screwing of the multitudes with horrendous economic policies. So perhaps the current crisis in the subprime mortgage market is a preparation for the Amero - the Gov can wait until recession hits depression, and then say that this is the great solution and by the way it is already law.

We absolutely need a very accelerated rise in the collective intelligence and awareness in this country, plus the development of what Marxists call "class consciousness," and as of yet I don't see much sign of it.

Connection

We absolutely need a very accelerated rise in the collective intelligence and awareness in this country...

...and everywhere.

I've posted Mark Pesce's Mind States presentation almost in direct response to this article about the Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America.

The SPPoNA, how shortsighted. How Insecure.

Anyway, Mark's presentation shows how it is possible to accelerate collective intelligence and awareness. How this is possible and indeed how this is already happening. Remember, Mark is in large part responsible for Virtual Reality for the Web. Now, he has turned his focus to communication technolgies, social networks, sharing, sharing wisdom and so forth. He's virtually scripting the code for a new reality.
