American Economy on the Brink of Collapse

If you are trying to make sense of what’s going on with our economy and all this talk of economic collapse, this two-part series Scott Thill wrote for Alternet really lays it out in language we all can understand. It also links to a lot of great source material. I recommend reading part two first, then going back to part one.

The Crash of 1929: Are We on the Verge of a Repeat? (pt.I)

Out on a limb...
Great pair of articles, along with the linked report warning that the eco-crisis could be on the same plane as a nuclear war. Chilling stuff!
But back to the main thrust of the article... Could Putin and his Russian faithful, now on their ascendancy, be witnessing the decline of the United States of America?

The bellicosity in the middle east are really about trying to defend the american way of life by propping it up with cheap oil. So the goodies will flow back to america again, but only to people who turn a blind eye to crimes comitted in Iraq and elsewhere to preserve this lifestyle. You will be swamped by so many poor immigrants from south America and Mexico, that you will be grateful for your relative wealth.
FEMA and Blackwater will take care of the rest of you.
