Adam Clay, Lazarus Mouse and the Kingdom of Eros

"The last time he had sex with me, he was so forceful that it hurt me. I was really sore. He is not a visibly violent person, but this manner of sex tells me something about his latent hostility!”
This man is ruled by an archetype. An archetype is created when universal patterns or tendencies mold and define a person. Archetypes are mirrors of the human condition. They are illusions that form a barrier between the ego (conscious I) and the Self (unconscious I). Archetypes may be unlearned, and replaced with self-awareness. Examples of common archetypes are the Clown, the Thief, and the Maiden.
“Adam Clay” is a term that correlates to hypersexual masculine expression. When we deconstruct Adam Clay it is revealed that the archetype becomes the most balanced when exerting maximum force toward a goal it believes it can achieve. This force is libido. Sport is convenient and ideal for diverting libidinal energy. The reason we dance so little is that we are too athletic. Athletics are great, but we cannot evolve without applying a new rule to them: People must stop being competitive.
Because of Adam Clay, men express love through forceful sex just like their partners receiving it). Let’s call the violence of Adam Clay’s sexual force “Ares” and use “Eros” to name the love man expresses in forceful sex. Ares and Eros are on a pendulum in all spheres of human influence. If a person acts out of Ares, law is broken and death and hardship rule the day. If a person acts from Eros without compensating for Ares, they cannot survive. And so the pendulum swings.
When partners consensually unite in forceful sex, the pendulum is transcended. Eros neutralizes Ares, allowing the couple to bypass the pendulum of Ares & Eros altogether for a time, as they alchemically transform Ares into a massive dose of Eros. Yum. The greater the expression of Ares, the more erotic sex can be - up to a point. Past that point Ares harms the body and its dignity, creating a black hole of feelinglessness. From this feelinglessness Ares creates the Dominatrix.
In response to numbness, the dominatrix commands feeling. In response to misogyny, she demands respect. She is a personage of female Yang. The man whom Adam Clay rules has an inner-woman. All men do. She personifies receptivity, feelings and balance – male Yin. While Adam Clay’s stability relies on forcing the world into balance, the stability of his inner-woman lets the world be, which brings it into balance. Man’s inner-woman is elementally neutral toward that which compels Adam Clay. The Dominatrix emerges through this neutrality in response to man’s hypersexuality.
Adam Clay carries such blind rage his inner-woman won’t have anything to do with him.
To fend off Adam Clay some men compulsively attempt to personify their inner-women through crossdressing, others through forced feminization and still others through drink or denial. As man ages the power of youth wanes, allowing him more balance. Balance is an attribute of the inner-woman. If a man loses power because of drama (not age), Adam Clay has a tendency to awaken. Adam Clay can make a man abysmally selfish, sometimes until his life is hardly more than debris to the planet, till he is more archetype than man.
I had the following dream - a lesson about balancing man’s lack of erotic receptivity: There are six men lying supine on tables. None is allowed to move, at all. I am one of six gleeful women wearing lingerie and satin gowns. At the same time, we each mount one of the men for a few seconds. Then we simultaneously dismount and move on to the next, and so on to the next and the next, having sex with all the men. Meanwhile the men are meditatively still.
Were a man presented with the opportunity to participate in a waking-life event such as this, Adam Clay would make it difficult for him to approach it respectfully. When the man ruled by Adam Clay approaches this event respectfully, for the sake of neutralizing Adam Clay, he would find the mix of meditative stillness and erotic pleasure agitating in the extreme. By focusing on releasing agitation, man releases Adam Clay.
The dream offers a hyperbolic antidote to Adam Clay’s Ares. Instead of dominant and aggressive, Adam Clay must remain supine and receptive. If the man forces the archetype to remain receptive, through his penis, Adam Clay will dissipate and the man will be transformed, but not instantly. His transformation takes place through willful devotion to changing his relationship to Eros. Eros is central to the broader, global and cosmic existential shift toward greater awareness.
Nowhere in the Bible is it stated word-for-word that the lion will lie down with lamb. The verse most nearly echoing the prediction is Isaiah 11:6: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” The verse literally describes harmony as it is in the New Kingdom.
The New Kingdom is the post-apocalyptic world. In the New Kingdom, knowledge conceived in Eden from the Tree of Knowledge has cleansed the Beast from human reality. Hence, hence lion may lie down with lamb. “The Beast” is a name for the biological legacy of evolution. Spiritual evolution overcomes the Beast. Without the Beast to contend with, humanity may focus on existence before survival. Without the Beast obscuring existence, humanity’s relation to the world comes to mirror God’s, and the types of extraordinary relationships between man & beast – e.g., those that St. Francis is remembered for - become normative.
As the Beast is subdued with spiritual knowledge, animals take on a metaphorical function, like characters in a story. The metaphorical function of animals has been central to myth since its prehistoric advent. From the earliest times, stories about animals were suggestive of the relation between them and humanity that comes into being in the New Kingdom. In addition to myth, dreams are also rich with the metaphorical aspect of animals.
In the early 90s I dreamed the whole cat family, from the lion to the housecat proceeding side-by-side in a line sweeping from the front to the back of a church. While the lion stands for God, the cat family symbolizes Catholicism – Cat-holicism, or Holy Cat-ism, if you will. As the lion is known as King of Beasts, so God is King of the Beast in man. When the Lion lies down with the Lamb, God the Father is reunited with Christ the Son, on Earth.
I have dreamed of Mary as a purple panther and Jesus as “the rare spotted tiger.” The purple shows Mary possessing a post-evolutionary color, a color of beauty and royalty, rather than survival and adaptation. “Rare spotted” refers to how Jesus is rarely directly experienced. When he is experienced, it is in forms that are impossible to anticipate. That is, as someone would not anticipate a tiger having spots, neither can they anticipate experiencing Jesus. Where Catholicism is uncompromised by the Beast it becomes associated with the cat and is a vehicle of the New Kingdom.
As Christ can be symbolized as a cat, monks & nuns surrender themselves to him as mice so that he can torment the Beast out of them; tormenting them as cats do to mice – I know from experience. Purging the Beast is alchemical purgation. After purgation, Christ consumes the monk & nun like a cat eats mice. This is a metaphor for Christ integrating the monk & nun into his mystical body. Once they have been thus integrated, they are everlasting. Of them it can then be said: “I am in the Father as he is in me” (John 10:38). The Lion has lain own with the Lamb.
The snake is another beast with an elaborate metaphorical side. For modern spiritualists the snake is typically associated with Kundalini, a “serpent power” or concentrated life-force. People practice Kundalini yoga, have Kundalini awakenings, and access Kundalini in Tantric sex without understanding the Kundalini Snake’s relation to Christ Cat.
Kundalini Snake is within Christ Cat, being as central to Christ’s divine love as the snake is to every creature with a spine and brain. Where Kundalini is deeply instinctual, Christ consciousness is supremely ethical and self-aware. In the old world instinct and Christ did not mix. They are one in the New Kingdom, in the mystical body of Christ.
In biological evolution, the snake is more fundamental than the cat. The snake is inside the cat, as the cat’s central nervous system, its brain and spine.
Dream recipe:
I am straddling a guy while he is in the lotus position. We toss a dead mouse back and forth. As we do this, the guy is trying to lift off the ground by accessing Kundalini. I ask him if this is what he is doing, Then the real goal of what we are doing is accomplished: The dead mouse begins walking on the guy’s crotch. This is how man can recover his penis from death. Were this to happen, relationships of Earth would shift, initiating change in cosmic proportion, initiating Everlasting Life.
The Mouse is Eros. As the smallest warm-blooded creatures, mice convey meekness. Genuine meekness is a channel for immense feeling because it typically must remain out of view. In trying to access Kundalini, man is misinformed about Kundalini’s relationship to Eros. To manipulate Eros & Kundalini, as he does when he tries at all, is to misuse them. In essence, Eros & Kundalini are powers to sacrifice oneself to, like a mouse giving itself to a cat, like monks and nuns giving themselves to Christ. To pretend to be the Mouse to attract the Cat or Snake is folly, just as it is folly to manipulate Kundalini for Tantric sex without regard for Christ – and as it is also unheard of in the biological realm for a mouse to attract a cat or snake.
Dominion in an erotic partnership invokes Ares. The more a partner claims dominion over the other, the less the Mouse lives, the more Eros dies. To serve Eros purely, as Christ does, the Cat receives the Mouse as the Mouse does the Cat, neither with dominion over the other. The essence of erotic partnership is expressed by Mouse/Mouse, Cat/Cat, Cat/Mouse, Mouse/Cat.
I am holding my partner’s small foot, feeling her feeling. Eros spills across time into eternity. In the dream my hand is the Cat and my partner’s foot is the Mouse. Though I play the Cat, I receive the Mouse, feeling her feeling. Feeling another’s feeling subverts Ares. Forcing another to feel encourages Ares. Feeling another’s feeling is elemental to any form of compassion. As such, when partners feel each other’s feeling, there is sexual compassion. Sexual compassion nurtures saintly eroticism, vanquishing Ares, nurturing meekness, causing sex to lose its habituality, making each sexual event virginal.
People may endeavor to find their meekness and dignity by suffering their alienation from themselves. In doing so, they cultivate new perspectives, and thereby they change. In dreams, death symbolizes change. Conversely, in waking-life, change is a kind of mini-death. Change initially strips power, leaving people naked and imbalanced. Later, naked and balanced, they are reborn into a higher reality which sustains the sweet, white fire of erotic purity.
The following vision provides a glimpse of sex in the New Kingdom. I had the vision in 2000, a year I spent submerged visions. I was able to date the visions by how marvelous their scenes and how rich their colors. I dated this vision at 2450.
In the vision, two women are making love. Each has a penis and a vagina, but for the lovemaking they aren’t using their vaginas at all, only their penises. By getting in the right position, it would be possible for them to make love with all four sex organs simultaneously.
Woman A’s penis penetrates woman B through B’s penis, fluttering as it pushes B’s penis up inside of B. Then B’s penis pushes out, with both penis heads still touching. Woman B’s penis pushes A’s into A, fluttering and penetrating. Such penile movement becomes possible once Kundalini has married the flesh. Then there is no impotence or erection as we have known them. The penis is reunited with its snake nature. Like Moses’ staff, the penis becomes a snake.
Back and forth the women flutter into each other, crying out in ecstasy and weeping tears of joy. The tears stream, single file, into the eyes of the partner. Woman A is wearing a necklace of thorns that do not cut her.
The scene switches and woman A is standing on a little hill, flanked by two women on separate little hills. They are naked and streams of flowers are arcing through the air. They alternate poses with dance – sort of like voguing.
When they are in a pose, their bodies fill with Eros. They hold the pose for as long as they can bear, and then burst into dance as the Eros runs through them. In a few seconds, their bodies come to rest in another pose. Eros is breathing through them. They cry out in saintly, orgiastic ecstasy.

Seducing the rare spotted tiger
Hi Amy,
It’s great to see another one of your provocative and beautifully crafted essays. What struck me first was the range of the tone and imagery, from the near pornographic to the childlike to the scholarly/analytic to the rhapsodic to the apocalyptic to the confessional. I especially loved the playful but profound use of animal symbolism- the purple panther, the rare spotted tiger, the Christ Cat, the mouse as Eros. This use of imagery seems both Medieval and postmodern.
The breadth of your perspective reminded me of a few lines from a poem that I wrote several years ago called “They Have Gone Down to the Center of the Earth", in which I attempt to excavate the traumas from past civilizations that caused consciousness to be experienced as an alien visitor to the body. At the end of this piece, a voyager emerges from a series of apocalyptic encounters the underworld to see two ancient gates that are set before an ocean. The inscription on them reads:
“We were raised up by primordial love. Transcendent vice. Orgasmic intellect. Who does not bear his memory as a gift cannot return through us. Abandon time- all you who enter here.”
These words are a take off on Dante’s inscription on the gates of Hell. In this case, however, the words are posted at the exit rather than the entrance to the underworld, to signal the transmutation of Plutonic energies. The poem ends:
“My outmoded guide turned back with the small nod of a parent. I followed my own shadow through the gates. On the other side there heaved a revolutionary chaos. It was not hell. Space shattered like an egg. Pieces of shell landed on the ocean.”
There is something very alchemical in your incorporation of near pornographic as well as more traditionally spiritual images, each presented with the same matter of fact clarity. On one level, the elements you present would appear to be in conflict, and, in terms of literary style, it is certainly surprising to see them juxtaposed in a single work. I would argue, however, that your logic is consistent.
You have embraced and kissed “the stone that the builders rejected”, and have set yourself the task of seeing lead and gold as two points on a hyperdimensional curve, whose end has never been truly separate from its origin. Your goal is perhaps not to turn one element into the other, but instead to grasp them as the different qualities of a single primordial substance. So too with the other apparent contradictions you explore- that of Buddhism with apocalyptic Christianity, of devotional meekness with the Luciferian pursuit of Kundalini, or of dream with the external world.
As the pendulum swings, both separating and then joining the Eros and Ares archetypes, each incompatible viewpoint serves to generate still greater energy. A war between the worlds precedes the marriage between opposites.

Symbolic Overload
So, in case of sex:
*DO*: sacrifice self to eros, womankind, intimacy
*DON'T*: serve archetypes of masculinity
I get it, I get it.., because we hear it over and over again, from every New Age circuit.
Six men stripped down butt naked and thoroughly controlled is society, is civilization, and it's every day reality, over and over again.
The "transformation" you're describing has a name-- it's called "settling down," and it's a real horror.
Tranquilization and Pacification have been equated with Eros & Love. Everyone's seeking "World Peace."
"Visualize World Peace."
Well, have you ever done it? What did you see?
Here's the imagine that cames immediately to mind: Endless suburbs, miles of quietude, soft spoken people, an end to all conflict (globaly,) and deep and profound uniformity.
Whether we like it or not, whether we can visualize something else, this is the vision of World Peace that comes to people when we "Visualize World Peace."
I'd rather visualize World Inspiration, or World Enthusiasm, a Eudaimonic Society, which happened to also not have wars. ("Don't ask yourself what the world needs; Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that, because the world needs people who have come alive.")
So back to sex: Please, don't tell the story of the tranquilization of the male by the female; This story is harmful to men. And by extension, harmful to women.
I mean, realize that your vision of the future is basically all females, regardless of your assigning them penii. You've basically invalidated male sexuality, And your prophecy's endpoint is the same as the endpoint of the SCUM manifesto, with just a different envisioned route about "how we get there."

...what a difference that piece of information makes..!
Wonderful essay on comedy, as well.
Would Dr. Jung Agree?
Hmm. I'm not sure that the definition of "archetype" in the beginning of this article is really that accurate. In the words of Carl G. Jung, "The term 'archetype' is often misunderstood as meaning certain definite mythological images or motifs. But these are nothing more than conscious representations; it would be absurd to assume that such variable representations could be inherited" (Jung, in the introduction to the book Man and His Symbols).
What confused me was the idea that an "archetype" of a certain type of personality could rule someone's life, like the Adam Clay personality of an overly aggressive male figure. I really don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, I'm not at all obsessed with the defining of terms or anything, and this is my first post in the wonderful world of reality sandwich. I'm just confused with the usage of this term in this way, in following with Jung's original archetypal analysis.
Jung repeats over and over in the introduction to Man and His Symbols that there is a huge difference between what he terms the "personal complex" (personality) and the "archetypal character." He writes about the different archetypal characters that have places in mythology from around the world, such as the "trickster," (clown/thief) which first appeared in the oral mythology of the Native American tribe called the Winnebagos.
He is so careful to define the distinction between the personal complexes and the archetypal symbols that manifest themselves not only in myth, but in our subconscious. Jung was also extremely careful to state that symbols mean different things to every person. He states that "no symbol can be separated from the individual," meaning that no symbol, no matter how archaeic or archetypal, ever means the same thing to everyone.
I realize that I'm talking more about dream analysis than the eros and many other aspects to this well-written article, but it just launched me into thinking about Jung with the word "archetype" in the beginning...
The author of this article states that "archetypes may be unlearned, and replaced with self-awareness. " But my question is, in using the term "archetype" here really valid in Jungian terms? Isn't this more a description of personal complexes?
I'm only posting because I'm really very interested in hearing what everyone thinks, and I hope that someone can shed some light. Jungian psychology has always fascinated me, and in this case it even prompted me to sit down and try to articulate my confusion with whether or not the term "archetype" quite fits these scenarios. I wish I had the time to try and further support what I'm asking with more quotes, etc., but I hope this at least strikes up some ideas about the concepts. Any thoughts? :)
A little animustard on the hot dog...
sorry
Jung is indeed very Owl-ish :)
I completely agree that we have "lost the kind of mind Jung represented." It's sad, really! I love going back and reading him again and finding more things to think about. Archetypes and how they affect the conscious and subconscious aspects of human lives throughout history have always fascinated me (what an awkward sentence!).
And my secret? Hmmm, I seem to have many...I prefer universal, I actually don't care for many of Freud's ideas (although I'm sure he would say I'm just repressing sexual desire)...and Jung definitely is very owl-ish. I can just see him sitting in a leather armchair puffing away on a pipe and babbling on about archaic symbology...good stuff indeed :)
archetype as gas, complex as accelerator
Hi MarbleTulipJuicyTree, About your question I had to look it up. Here’s what Wikipedia says about complexes & archetypes: Jung saw an archetype as always being the central organizing structure of a complex. For instance, in a negastive mother complex [which I suppose is an example of a “personal complex”] the archetype of the "negative mother" would be seen to be central to the identity of that complex.
The archetype is gas, the complex the accelerator. The driver/ego has direct control over the complex, not the archetype. The archetype can be neutralized if the driver/ego takes their foot of the accelerator/complex. seems like you are pointing out that personal complexes and archetypes are in separate spheres, the former being individual and the latter beeing collective, which I would agree with, but still, treating the complex is essentially unlearning the archeype – or so it seems.
I dreamed that archetypes guard the door to the Self day and night, but they fell asleep and a guy opened the door, a circular door with these complex knobs and levers, cracking it open just slightly to let in “90 degrees of green-gold light,” which could destroy everything in an instant. It is where the aliens live.
"no symbol can be separated from the individual,"
For me the power in this quote is how it personalizes experience, allowing people to be responsible for the entire range of content in their minds, so that symbols no longer puppeteer them, but instead become a means through which they may exptress themselves.
thank you for contributing!
peace, Amy
wow!
Thank you for writing such a well thought-out response, Amy! That cleared everything up. I haven't read anything that put the personal complex and the archetypal character together quite like that, but I love the ideas and I'm intrigued to read even more Jung now. :)
Thanks for writing such a thought-provoking piece!
and what kind paux to faux is that, waaaah!
Ecstatic arrows activate their victim
Hi Amy,
1) “In essence, Eros and Kundalini are powers to sacrifice oneself to, like a mouse giving itself to a cat, like monks and nuns giving themselves to Christ.”
For a number of years before receiving Shaktipat in 1990, I had been practicing meditation under the guidance of a number of good teachers, as well as reading everything that I could get a hold of, but had almost entirely given up on the idea of any real physical or energetic transformation taking place. I knew that such things were possible, but I had come to assume that my system was inert.
When the energy did, in 1989, at last, begin to move- perhaps as a kind of signal broadcast backward by the future- I did not even realize for a few months what was happening. At one point, I felt an enormous pressure building up inside my head, and actually went so far as to schedule an urgent visit to my doctor; for fear that this might be the first sign of an aneurism about to break. Without the activated presence of the snake, any spiritual growth was no more than a concept.
In terms of my own experience, it has been necessary to first summon up Kundalini before it becomes possible to submit to it, although perhaps it is more accurate to say that one must first ask that a gift be offered before it is possible to accept it.; my breakthrough in this direction came through the action of a teacher, Anandi Ma, who communicated by direct transmission, not by words, and the breakthrough was perceived almost as the invasion of one body by another, in this case of a human male by a supernatural female. Your description of bodies moving inside of bodies brought memories of this period flooding back.
Eventually, the sensation was of multiple bodies clashing and interacting inside of one, until a sufficient degree of transparency had been reached. Agents probed and tested, opened and flushed out and ignited the channels that had long been closed.
2) “Woman A’s penis penetrates woman B through B’s penis, fluttering as it pushes B’s penis up inside of B. Then B’s penis pushes out, with both penis heads still touching. Woman B’s penis pushes A’s into A, fluttering and penetrating. Such penile movement becomes possible once Kundalini has married the flesh… The penis is reunited with its snake nature. Like Moses’ staff, the penis becomes a snake.”
Are you familiar with the Paleolithic images of shamanic figures transfixed by spears and arrows? (I have not, unfortunately, been able to find any good illustrations on the web.) There is quite a bit of debate about what these images mean, but my own sense is that they depict the idea of “ecstasy as a wound”- the sensation of being penetrated by higher dimensional energies, which can be perceived, as I have mentioned, as though many bodies were moving and interacting, at times violently, inside of one.
In New Age circles, the pain produced by this dimensional clash might very often be attributed to “resistance”, although it could just as easily be read as a natural part of the birth process, as a price that must be paid at the boundary between worlds, or as a sign that something big is going on. “Pain” is just one ego-bound interpretation of what might otherwise be felt as “ecstasy.”
Sesame Street Buddha
in this case of a human male by a supernatural female…Eventually, the sensation was of multiple bodies clashing and interacting inside of one, until a sufficient degree of transparency had been reached.
Brian, this was very much my experience, in 2000, being a human male and having a supernatural female emerge through me. Then in the following months, having lost my name and identity, I was a collection of selves dialoguing to put me back together: the mind, the body, the heart, wisdom, a therapist, a “soul-scientist” who was my observing ego, myself three years in the future, a 10 year old boy & a 10 year old girl who were brother and sister. Unified into one, they were called “The Sesame Street Buddha.” I was “We” for a couple years, and still am sometimes, but it is down to me and my five-year-old male self. There’s just two of us now.
like a cartoon without a punchline.

Hi vivifidal,
Don't you have anything better to do? Snide comments should be left in the high school cafeteria. You risk nothing of yourself by them. It is clear that you know who Keith Haring was. Perhaps one day you will learn that cynicism is no proof of superiority.
Hi vivfidal
Hi vivifidal, As I suggested to LionKimbro, “Do you know my story? If not, check out my Reality Sandwich profile, if you haven’t already – or my website www.amygeorge.net – If you do and you still have the same opinion of my ideas, then I will try to address your objections to the piece.” After taking up the suggestion, LionKimbro seemed to see the piece in a new light. Perhaps you will, too.

Note (Caveat)
Do note that -- while knowing your story completely changes my interpretation of it:
I still find it to be a woman's point of view, and I see the trace of fundamental misunderstandings and mistrusts about men. I stand by my opposition to the "pacification" story.
My personal belief is that men and women will never ever really deeply understand one another. My hope is that we will manifest respect, honor, and love, for one another, welcoming differences as gifts.
cool, ok yeppers
Snipers who live in glass houses/ part 2/ to vivifidal
Hi again,
1) I needed to take a short break to remove the mote from my neighbor’s eye, before helping him to sew his testicle back on.
2) Let me see if I have this right. In your comment titled “MTMTE”, you state: “But it doesn't stop there and you get all the nuances of texture and fragrance of the Okeefian queefery of the not specifically reproductive aspects of sexuality that extends beyond gender. I like IT! And it never mentions shoes, NOT EVEN ONCE ! ;-)”
Does this demonstrate the use of a “non-gelatinous fluid” in the pursuit of universal “substance?” In which all “oozy vapidity” is avoided like the plague? You might want to consider spending five seconds thinking for every minute you spend writing.
3) Anandi Ma, the teacher that I mentioned in the comment above, was herself a student of Dyanyogi Madhusudandas. For the last 10 years before his death, at the age of 116, he had little faith in the efficiency of language. He would, however, at times give pithy answers to both big and little questions.
For example, to rephrase a true story in the form of a Zen parable:
A student once asked Dyanyogi Madhusudandas, “What should someone do if he has mosquitoes in his house? Is it wrong to kill them?” Dyanyogi answered, “Mosquitoes do not belong in the house!”
never said it was to be avoided
and I'm up to 8 seconds, which is sufficient bullriding, per minute but I'm typing pretty fast so the thought per word count is sometimes a bit low,not exactly egyptian cotton if you break it down by thread. I'm not married to every idea I have but I hate to see a good one slip by me. The cthonic oozy gelatinous funk, not worth either aversion or worship, but is worth noticing...its ubiquitous. The shoe reference is a pop culture reference thats not worth explaining...
Okeefian queefery, I just like how it sounds and how vividly descripive it is and it doesn't seem to show up in google so I worked it into the discourse like a calendar word of the day since it seemed to capture that at once militant, yet soft murky, funky oozy gelatinous aspect of female sexuality. Ok maybe I give more than eight seconds thought, but its not exactly linear...I wish I had more windows and if I don't clip some vines back my place is going to look like a hobbit hole, which would be kindof cool, but I think it would weaken the structure a bit since its not designed for that...
There Is a Choice
Hi McNuggetz, Holy enlightenment and sex don’t mix, yet holy enlightenment and Eros do. “Adam Clay” presents a reconciliation between them.
It’s folly to underestimate the power of myth.
Everyone ought to go at sex to the heart’s content, till it becomes so mechanistic that the heart is denied involvement in it. Only then can abstinence truly exhume eros from the graveyard of sex.
Abstinence is a poor idea for many young people. Many young people need lots of sex in order to ground themselves in experience. The more solid the ground of experience, the more solid is higher innocence, if given the opportunity to come.
Jesus wants girls who can receive him and boys through whom he can express the Kundalini of his cock, which he cannot do without Eros. The obstacle to this is that boys tend to be too weighted with the Beast to be erotic avatars of Christ. The onus is on them to receive the vagina, the vagina of the Earth, of the universe, to the extent that they are capable. It is a capacity that can be learned as the Beast is unlearned. There is a choice.
The point about pacification is well-taken. Pacification hurts. It is the meaning behind the Cross It shreds identity and is “agitating in the extreme,” yet leeaves man beautiful and alive, and utterly erotic in all things.
Like a virgin, touched for the very first time
Hi McNuggetz,
1) Do we really know that Jesus was a virgin, or is this propaganda invented many decades after his death? It would certainly be very unusual for a 30 year old rabbi from this period to be unmarried, and without children. Significant too is the fact that the New Testament leaves out almost all of his earlier life.
2) Perhaps Amy’s erotic images should be read as Tantric diagrams. If we read them in this way, it is not so much a question of people having more or less sex, leading toward or away from violence, but rather of the transmutation of all biological energies into knowledge.
To shift cultures for a minute, in Taoism this would be the transmutation of “gen” (root biological energy) into “chi” (astral and sexual energy, associated with the sphere of human action) into “shen” (spiritual energy, transhuman in its breadth.). World peace, like the microcosmic orbit, is not a thing to be created; it is rather the realization of a state of connectedness that has always been in existence.
3) The tale told by the snake has never left its mouth.
4) A dream is not a social program. Amy is not, after all, proposing legislation on compulsory sex and violence reeducation for the masses.
reinventing Jesus
It seems that people are always reinventing Jesus and tacking so much excess baggage to the archetype of the self-sacrificing or dying god that its rolled itself into one heckofa Katamari Damacy of a megacomplex. Thats the one thing, all my other verbal fumbling poking and prodding aside, that seems out of place like a Quiplothic false echo of a displaced Sephiroth. Animus Mundi is not equivilant to Mary Mother, or Mary Magdelin in the modern K'iche mystical system and I tend to view them as a school that keeps their archetypes well sorted. Jesus just doesn't seem like a very tantric avatar which doesn't imply celibacy either. A lot of traditional alchemical symbolism was simply a way to sneak the tantra back into spirituality by obscuring the symbols of pagan concepts but it never wanted or needed to transmute the church canon, just work around it, not incorporate it. Since thats not necessary anymore, I'm for a broader more pan-pantheistic approach, but if reinventing Jesus works for you, then go for it.
Unlearning the Beast
McNuggetz, I would check out Zeitgeist, but my computer is too cheap. I get that broken film icon. Can you summarize it?
All this talk about sex....hows does it relate to reality sandwhich?
How does it not relate to Reality Sandwich? It’s exploring the depths of a psychic & cosmic reality.
Christanity has many goals one is to control human reproduction.
The institution invests in controlling reproduction, but the Bible is not nearly as preoccupied with it. “Be fruitful and prosper,” it says, and it says that Sodom & Gomorrah took it too far.
You are saying there is an imperative to perpetuate the Beast through sex. I say that we can choose not to perpetuate the Beast if we have adequate self-knowledge, knowledge of our ultimate, divine nature. Self-knowledge is something a lion cannot have much of because its psyche cannot be fractured like a human’s can. Don’t lose track of how different we are from animals. Lions have no apocalypse. Humanity has always been in the process of outgrowing and unlearning the Beast.
3) I dont understand the tale told by the snake never left it's mouth comment you lost me?
That lost me a little, too. I think it means, “You guys are having knee-jerk reactions without knowing the full-story behind what Amy is saying.” He is filling in the story eloquently with his posts.
4) A dream is not social program and like I said religion is the social program trying to control sex and violence for the masses.
A dream is a collection of perspectives bearing ego-transcendent meaning.
Though I use religious terminology, I am not religious. Jesus thinks it will do the mind well to have religious terminology reinvented.
Too bad intuitively we know that religions are based on myths and peddled as truth.
I agree. The mythic aspect of religion informs my reality, while the institutional aspect is something to ignore as much as possible.
Why not Zeitgeist?
I stopped watching Zeitgeist after I paused it in the middle, did a little bit of fact checking, and found it coming up wanting.
From bogus etymologies, to completely made up dates and virgin births in old religions, ... ... and then we're supposed to buy a 9/11 conspiracy theory.
"But the mayans!" "2012!" It's all echo chamber.
The emotional manipulations in this video are really bald-faced. If "the man" put out a video like this, we'd rightly call foul, and dissect it 10 million ways.
I absolutely can't give my stamp of approval to this movie.
self-perpetuating metaphor consumes fraud
If I understand, you are saying that since Christianity has pagan roots, it’s fundamentally invalid.
Christianity couldn’t come onto the world stage without precedence, but did over epochs; pagan epochs that cultivated collective consciousness to the point that people were able to receive the Christian message. Also, necessary as a precondition was the story of the Hebrews. (Here is a link to a dream-interpretation in which I address these issues.)
Christ was inherent in the sun as Mary was inherent in the Moon, as were pagans who made gods of Moon & Sun. Christ does not = the Sun, but the Sun + time + story = "the Light of the World."
Humans were inherent in the genetic material at the dawn of life. There was a time when you were rain, I was grass and she was a rock and he was a river.
As for astrotheological hybrids and frauds, I can say that metaphor is so self-perpetuating that no amount of will could forge it; and that the realities I share have been cultivated by dreams, visions and encounters with the godhead as well as raped through me by the universe, which edifies their veracity.
microcosmic avatar
Glad you caught the marijuana reference. It was intended.
Right, religion is the opiate of the people and all those other bad things you say it is.
God exists. God doesn't survive. People are to become microcosmic avatars of God and the Earth.
The Only Conspiracy
“The Beast” is a name for the biological legacy of evolution. Spiritual evolution overcomes the Beast. Without the Beast to contend with, humanity may focus on existence before survival. Without the Beast obscuring existence, humanity’s relation to the world comes to mirror God’s. As such, the type of extraordinary relationships between man and beast - such as those that St.
Animals in dreams possess the same function.
I had a dream that said, “The only conspiracy is the conspiracy against love,” and I live in this spirit.
Which way?
sexual cruelty is a teacher
Absolutely the former, that sexual cruelty is subdued by knowledge. Sexual cruelty is a teacher.
Why do you think I have agenda of sexual suppression?
Cruelty is cruelty.
Sorry, but I can't understand "cruelty is a teacher," of any variety of cruelty.
I don't think suppression is your agenda, at least not for women.
Evil is a Teacher
If I have an agenda it is balance for all.
Yes, there was something wrong with how I phrased the other point. I meant it in the sense of all evil being a teacher. Without awreness of evil to edify consciousness we are the same as beasts, so evil is an unwitting teacher, if it is used as something to learn from.
The Way Out: Through?
I know what you're talking about; I read my Howard Bloom, Global Brain, The Mote in God's Eye, and so on.
I don't think we'll get away from these terrors by suppressing sexuality, though; The sexual urge is remarkably consistent, forceful, and also generative. This applies to both men and women.
I'm of the mind that the way out can only be through. So, consequentially, personally, I'm on the understand-relate-express-reflect track, (with respect to sex,) rather than the suppress track.
Is All Fair in Love & War?
I think that the question of, -- I'll call it "sexual competitive violence," or the brutal, cruel, and visceral battle, that goes on in the securing of women -- which women turn a blind eye too ("It's mysterious!", one woman told me, refusing to look at it directly,) and which men are forced, like in a pit fight, to battle with each other over --
I absolutely agree that it's a serious question, that it has not received a thousandth of the attention that it requires, and that to be practically met, would force very hard questions on society.
I can understand -- having gone through those battles, and winning a few -- the equation of, "sex is violence." It may not be physical material bloody violence, but there's not a doubt in my mind that it is psychic violence, and that it permanently brands the psyches of participants.
Women are 100% just as complicit in this as men, even though they admit 0% of the moral bill. (Largely, because men can't afford to bill women: They'll be highly penalized by both savior men and helpless women for doing so.)
I have a few ideas how to begin in this direction; I believe a big part of it is recognizing the systematic injuring of *all* men, which our society, both male and female, is utterly disgusted to do. ("It's just the way things are!") Taking men's sexual nature seriously is a crucial part of this.
The tale told by the snake
Hi McNuggetz,
“The tale told by the snake has never left its mouth.” This is a reference to the Ouroboros, the snake that eats its tail, and involves a pun on the words “tail” and “tale.” The tale told by the snake is Time, in which all actions must be spoken as a sequence. The body of the snake, however, also takes the form of a circle- a symbol of completion- in which all actions and events are simultaneous.
This relates back to my earlier statement, “World peace, like the microcosmic orbit, is not a thing to be created; it is rather the realization of a state of connectedness that has always been in existence.” A more famous version of this concept is “The Kingdom of Heaven is spread out all around you, but you do not see it.”
In Taoist meditation, the “microcosmic orbit” refers to the circuit that is created when energy is raised from the feet or base of the spine up to the top of the head and then down again through the mouth, the heart, the solar plexus, the groin, and so on through the front of the body, which connects again to the image of the Ouroboros. No energy is lifted up to heaven without being grounded again in the earth.
Pacification
I personally think-feel-see that pacification is the robbing of uniqueness and living vitality; I don't see how it leaves people beautiful, alive, and erotic.
Pacification hurts because it's anaesthetizing to the human spirit, like the cutting of the daemon from the individual in the Golden Compass. I'm sure that the magisterium would see it as leaving man "beautiful and alive," but clearly the author and I see it differently.
So I can't connect at all with your argument here, at all, as I understand it: It is the murder of the spirit for the sake of world peace and "holy enlightenment," as in the movie Equilibrium.
I am confident that we can have world peace without pacification, spiritual enlightenment without passive stupor.
Lucky Star
glass seeds of light
1) I don’t feel I am reinventing Jesus so much as he is reinventing himself through me. This was dramatized in this dream from 1998: I’m in the room I live in with my friends: two men and a woman. We’re all trying to sleep, but my thoughts keep getting out of control and I feel afraid. Finally I allow myself to be pierced by Christ and am filled with the sweet fire. I open my mouth because I am asked to and Christ makes two tones leap out of my mouth at regular intervals. It is my voice of golden velvet. It's too intense and I am trying to roll away, which Christ allows. My escape feels like an animal’s. My friends are angry that I so drastically disturbed them in the middle of the night. The woman says it sounded like Satan and goes to sleep in the bathroom. There's sharp something under me. It's a light glowing through the bedsheet. One of the men says it's a glass seed of light.
Allah is said to have raped Mohammed in dictating the Koran, which is perhaps the Prophet’s glass seed of light.
The dream manifested in waking-life over several years. I endured Christ’s Luciferic nature, and thereby know his nature. He is a perpetually tangible presence for me.
2) The heavy-handed feeling of words like Jesus, Satan, Allah, and Mohammed comes from the way they are used like weaponry instead of as terms denoting personified consciousness - Brian George gets this. At “Jesus” all people hear is the word’s misuse. I have not misused it. I have no intention of directing allegiance to the word “Jesus,” but instead openness to the cosmic spirit of the Word, of Om, of Logos.
3) When Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene are united into one person, one being, she becomes a personification of and daughter to Anima Mundi. All women are potentially avatars of Anima Mundi, just as all men are of the spirit of God.
4) In the Adam Clay piece, the dream’s illustration of the masculine receiving the feminine is no more than a form of meditation. Meditation can be stuporous or it can be infused with being, depending on where one is at. It is the same with the dream’s Tantric mediation. In the meditation, man/God is receiving the woman/Earth. The environmental crisis is due to man’s refusal to receive the Earth for so long. The meditation is an antidote to all rape, including oil-drilling.
5) In Zuni tradition there is a myth that when the Earth Mother (or some such figure of the global feminine) captures the male clowns she forces them do a dance to celebrate their capture. They slump stuporously. Oh, how intolerable it feels after having established a level of independence! Yet, she is entirely yours if you would entirely receive her, receive her with the entirety of being. This does not necessarily entail castration, anaesthetics or permanent loss of vitality (as it did for me). It entails balance, receptivity, and depth of feeling. If it makes a male less than a man to have these, he is still a boy. Boys are great. Mother loves her boys, even when they rape her - like Jesus raped me. I dreamed Jesus marries his mother.
Pinning the Bill on Men
I strongly disagree, and this is an example where great emotional abuse is being heaped against men, totally unquestioned.
The simple fact is that the vast amount of money is spent by women, in our society, or for women.
Men, by and large, outside gadgetry, (computers,) are just not big spenders. They say: "Men would sleep in cardboard boxes, if they could have sex in them."
Cars, houses, clothes, shoes, machines & electricity for cleaning, ... Marketers know exactly who buys, and who to sell to.
And men, growing up, knows what attracts a woman to settle down with them. If anything, it seems to me that goddess worship is what gets us into the present mess. As usual, men get stuck with both financial and moral bill, for woman can do no wrong.
Nag Hammadi, and the reconstruction of the primal man
Hi Amy,
1) Although you are presenting scenarios in which 2-12 participants act out psychosexual roles, in another sense what you are describing is the dynamism between poles of the primordial Androgyne.
In many Nag Hammadi texts this figure is referred to as “The Augogenes”, or “Self-Begotten.” "On the Origin of the World”, the text I quote below, presents this primal entity in a mostly female aspect, although there are other texts that focus more on the aspect of “Primordial Man.” This figure is at the center of a great deal of Gnostic myth, and represents, in this way of thinking, the true form of the human body before its descent beneath the force-fields of the planets, into the cycles of hypnotic time and space.
Gnostic writers are generally more circumspect about the body that is reconstituted at the end of the time cycle, or that a voyager can lay claim to by direct ascent. This body must, of course, possess the balance of the preexistent Androgyne, but it must also, in some way, have been inoculated against the amnesiac power of the Archons, or rulers of the Demiurgic realms. Myths have survived, but the yogic methods of the first to fourth centuries AD have been lost.
“The Nag Hammadi Library”, edited by James M. Robinson, published by Harper and Roe, gives a good overview of these various Gnostic myths (although the translations leave quite a bit to be desired). Are you familiar with this book?
I mention this not to advocate for a Gnostic metaphysics, but rather because your work seems to connect, on a great many levels, with the explorations that were conducted in this period. The literary style is most often apocalyptic; the stage-set is both planetary and cosmic. There is a great concern for the relationship between male and female aspects of the divine. Writers often appropriate and play with Christian terms and images, but in a way that altogether bypasses dogma and often redefines or reverses the meaning of the terms. For example, the snake is often the hero of the story of the fall.
One problem with this comparison is that Gnosticism would appear to be dualistic, at least as it was understood by their enemies, the church fathers, whereas your eschatology of embodied consciousness and out of body sex would appear to be non-dualistic. The tone of these texts is often more than slightly “paranoid”, although emotions, good or bad, were perhaps of small importance in the face of the almost incomprehensible clockwork of the Aeon.
(Ecstasy, in these terms, is less of an emotion than the consequence of a newly rediscovered freedom; jogging is more fun when we take off the lead weights.)
It is perhaps best to see this type of Gnosticism as a description of the alienation that possessed most conquered peoples in the days of the late Roman Empire, a period in some ways similar to our own. At that one historical moment, Gnosticism represented the escalation of a conflict; alchemically, it was the separation of the elements before the body of a larger consciousness could be coagulated from the flux.
2) Here are a few excerpts from “On the Origin of the World”, an anonymous Gnostic text that relates to the mythology that you are constructing (The translation is a collaboration between Hans-Gibbhard Bethge, Bentley Layton and the Societas Coptica Hierosolymitana):
“Now the production of the instructor came about as follows. When Sophia let fall a droplet of light, it flowed into the water, and immediately a human being appeared, being androgynous. That droplet she molded first as a female body. Afterwards, using the body she molded it in the likeness of the mother which had appeared. And he finished it in 12 months. An androgynous human being was produced, whom the Greeks call Hermaphrodites; and whose mother the Hebrews call Eve of Life (Eve of Zoe), namely, the female instructor of life. Her offspring is the creature that is lord. Afterward, the authorities called it “Beast,” so that it might lead astray their modeled creatures. The interpretation of “the beast” is “the instructor.” For it was found to be the wisest of all beings.
….
Then the authorities were informed that their modeled form was alive and had arisen, and they were greatly troubled. They sent seven archangels to see what had happened. They came to Adam. When they saw Eve talking to him they said, “What sort of thing is this luminous woman? For she resembles that likeness which appeared to us in the light. Now come, let us lay hold of her and cast our seed into her, so that when she becomes soiled she may not be able to ascend into the light. Rather, those whom she bears will be under our charge. But let us not tell Adam, for he is not one of us. Rather let us bring a deep sleep over him. And let us instruct him in his sleep to the effect that she came from his rib, in order that his wife may obey, and he may be lord over her.”
.…
Then Eve, being a force, laughed at their decision. She put mist into their eyes and secretly left her likeness with Adam. She entered the tree of acquaintance and remained there. And they pursued her, and she revealed to them that she had gone into the tree and become a tree. Then, entering a great state of fear, the blind creatures fled.
.…
Afterwards, when they had recovered from the daze, they came to Adam; and seeing the likeness of the woman with him, they were greatly disturbed, thinking it was she that was the true Eve. And they acted rashly; they came up to her and seized her and cast their seed into her. They did so wickedly, defiling not only in natural ways but also in foul ways, defiling first the seal of her voice—that had spoken with them, saying, “What is it that exists before you? –intending to defile those who might say at the consummation of the age that they had been born of the true man through verbal expression.
.…
First she was pregnant with Abel, by the first ruler. And it was by the seven authorities and their angels that she bore other offspring. And all of this came to pass according to the forethought of the prime parent, so that the first mother might bear within her every seed, being mixed and being fitted to the fate of the universe and its configurations, and to Justice. A prearranged plan came into effect regarding Eve, so that the modeled forms of the authorities might become enclosures of the light, whereupon it (viz., the light) might condemn them through their modeled forms.
a 2008 retelling of On the Origin of the World
I actually just picked up “The Nag Hammadi Library,” and rewrote “The Origin of the World” to be more readable, adding some of my own observations as well as some guesses as to what is going on in this work. It’s a little long, but heck, the Internet is infinite:
Man was created by the Authorities, which were self-deferential patterns of behavior rooted in biological evolution. The Authorities acquired their status through the exertion of force. They possessed little perspective, but enough to command subordination to their will.
Man was in their likeness, without any wisdom in him. Man was either satiated or hungry to be satiated. He had no spirit and was like an abortion. The Authorities were closer to Earth than Heaven. They possessed authority over whatever they beheld, and disbelieved in higher powers. Yet, sometimes they could not help catching a whiff or glimpsing a wisp of Sophia-Wisdom. When they did, they feared for their existence. They could only exist in her absence.
When the chief Authority remembered Faith, he became afraid man would use it to gain possession of himself. Were this to happen, the Authorities would dissolve. Fearing dissolution, and not wanting to provoke man to call upon Faith, the Authorities went into hiding, leaving man to his own devices.
In the Authorities’ absence, Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom, condensed over epochs. Finally, she let fall a droplet of light. It flowed into the water, and immediately an androgynous human being appeared. The being commanded power in accordance to its command of balance. In this it was every bit like Sophia, only she had no form and the being was female in form. The Hebrews called the being “Eve of Life” (Eve of Zoë). She became the female teacher of life, since she chose to eat from the Tree of Knowledge and became one with it as it became one with her.
Then Sophia sent her breath into man, who had no soul. He began to move upon the ground. He could not stand up. He was beginning to awaken to his divine nature, but only just beginning.
Then the Authorities returned from hiding. They were changed, but were too self-absorbed to recognize the change. There were now a definite number of them: 7. The 7 saw themselves as the rulers of man, and were greatly disturbed to see him moving at all, and in any way that differed from how they had left him. They had expected he would go on indefinitely like an abortion, unable to distinguish himself from the universe.
The 7 Rulers went up to man and seized him. The chief ruler said to the breath within the man, “Who are you? And why did you come here?”
The breath of man answered through him, “I have come to possess, and to destroy what I cannot possess.”
When the 7 Rulers heard this, they could not hear Sophia speaking through man. The Rulers praised man, since he was so much like them. They took respite from the fear and anxiety in which they found themselves when they first returned and saw man in thought.
In their relief, the Rulers called that day “Rest.” When the 7 Rulers saw man could not stand up, they were glad. They took him and put him in Paradise so that he would either possess it for them or destroy it. And they withdrew.
After the day of rest Sophia sent her daughter Eve Zoe, as an instructor in order that she might make the soulless man arise so that those whom he might father could become vessels of light.
When Eve Zoe saw her male counterpart prostrate she had pity upon him, and she said, “Adam! Become alive! Arise upon the earth!” Immediately her word became accomplished fact. For Adam, having arisen, suddenly opened his eyes. When he saw Eve Zoe, he said, “You shall be called ‘Mother of the Living’ For it is you who have given me life.”
Then the 7 Rulers were informed that the man was alive and had arisen, and they were greatly troubled. They sent 7 demons to see what had happened.
The demons came to Adam. When they saw Eve Zoe talking to him they said, “What sort of thing is this luminous woman? For she resembles that presence [Sophia] which appeared to us in the light. Come on, let’s rape her so that she will not be able to return to the light. Instead, her children will be under our charge.
“And let’s not tell the man, for he is not truly one of us. Instead, let’s put him into a deep sleep, and instruct him in his sleep to the effect that the woman came from his rib, in order that his wife may obey, and he may lord over her.”
From this point on, for all the ages to come till the end of the world, Adam and Eve-Zoe came to live in separate worlds, in separate dreams. The demons did not realize, however, that Eve-Zoe was inseparable from Adam’s matter, as he was inseparable from her spirit. In the story the demons left with Adam, they had given him the gift of his own soul without realizing it. Adam would not realize it either until the end times.
In Adam’s dream Eve-Zoe had come from his rib, so he was the mother of the mother of life. In a far removed eastern kingdom Buddha, like Eve-Zoe, was born from out of the side, his mother’s side. As such, Eve-Zoe was like Buddha, but even greater. She was what eastern religion calls “dakini.” Yet in Adam’s sphere, Eve-Zoe’s status was dishonored. She was relegated to the station of “helper.” Hence, Mother Mary was deified as compensation.
Adam did not realize that he would be cast out of the Garden with the task of his Redemption forced upon him. Without Eve-Zoe to help him in this task, he would never accomplish it. Wisdom was indeed Adam’s helper. Eve-Zoe needed no help.
Eve-Zoe laughed at the absurdity of what the demons had done to Adam, filling his mind with his own importance and clouding it with dreams neither he nor they really understood. She temporarily blinded the demons with a mist into and secretly left a likeness of herself with Adam. The likeness was Eve. After the mist evanesced, the demons went after Eve-Zoe to defile her. Before they could reach her she disappeared into a tree, the Tree of Knowledge, and remained there. The demons looked all around the tree, but saw no trace of her. Eve-Zoe then revealed to them that she had gone into the tree and become it. Then, entering a state of great fear, the demons fled.
The demons returned to Adam. Seeing the likeness of Eve with him, they were greatly disturbed. Not sensing the difference between her and Eve-Zoe, they seized her and raped her. They did so wickedly, defiling her not only in natural ways but in spirit, telling her God had forsaken her, hoping that she would become too broken to pass on her wisdom to her children, so that her wisdom would not survive to redeem future generations. The demons erred, not knowing that it was Eve’s likeness, rather than Eve-Zoe.
Nor did they realize that the dream they had given Adam about Eve’s origin had changed everything, making they and Adam essentially the same. As Eve was actually Adam’s body, his matter, so was she theirs. As such, they raped and defiled themselves in every way.
First Eve was pregnant with Abel, by the first Ruler. And it was by the 7 Rulers and their demons that Eve bore other offspring. A number of Eve’s offspring lorded over other humans. They appeared wisest of all, but hardly differed from beasts.
All of this came to pass according to the forethought of God, the progenitor of all. Eve bore within her every seed of fate. The seeds of fate fit the fate of the universe and its configurations, and Justice. A prearranged plan came into effect whereby all that the Rulers possessed would become vessels of light, whereupon their ignorance would be put out as light does darkness.
And what are your thoughts, ...
...with regards to this story?
Do you find it meaningful, valuable, demonstrative of truth or benevolence?
body within a body
1) I do find it meaningful, valuable, and demonstrative of truth. It is mythological so benevolence doesn’t really factor into it. It is about subhuman, human and divine nature. It’s a scape, not a morality tale. It is about the interplay of levels of consciousness. I think it is about a transformation in human consciousness that took place over thousands of years. In it Sophia substitutes for God. I think both the Biblical Genesis and this story are equally valid.
2) I agree with you that the world treats men unfairly. It starts when they are little, and learn not to cry and to beat on each other, and also that throwing away their hearts makes them men. They go through rites that harden them, that make them compete for sex, that make some of them monsters. (For every wound to the masculine there is one to the feminine.) But by and large, people compensate and there is then emough room to be alive, beautiful and to rejoice in forceful sex.
As Brian George points out, Adam Clay is like a body within the male body. He is a collection of behaviors and attitudes that can be released, and his behaviors and attitudes are what give the fire to forceful sex. Hence, Adam Clay deeply fears the fire being put out, since it his life, so I appreciate that men could find this idea threatening, or rather the part of them that is subordinate to the archetype finds it threatening.
If boys are to realize their capacity as men, their tenderness, heart, and passion needs to be protected from Adam Clay. Most men have no way of accessing tenderness without risking emasculation.
3) Last night I dreamed that Johnny Depp is with his lover, a gorgeous, blond woman who cares for his sexual needs like a mother would the emotional needs of her four-year-old son. Johnny feels hurt. His lover is going to help transmute the hurt from Aries and directly back into Eros. His erect penis is in her hand and she tells him sweetly and maternally, “Make that fussy face.” She is telling him to get in touch with his feelings so their absence doesn’t turn him into Adam Clay. She is not infantilizing him. She is letting him experience himself at the point where he split off from himself to be a "man," but actually became Adam Clay.
Female complicity with Adam Clay is in how women reject male sensitivity, when it would better serve all to be able to honor it and nurture it as a mother does her little boy. After all, the little boy never goes away. But he can be perverted by archetypes society forces on him.
The cosmic archetype of Madonna and Child applies to Johnny Depp and his lover, as it does to all. The spirit that vitalizes men, that you are concerned in protecting, is the same they were born with, that they had when they were little and lived in union with their mother. In those times they were akin to Jesus, but then they went into the world just as Jesus’ youth disappeared from the Bible. Other men disappear into Adam Clay.
No, Women are Highly Involved.
1. Frankly, I think the story sucks. It's not terribly different from the SCUM manifesto; I could show you some interesting parallels between the two document. (Search both for the word "abortion," for instance.) I would never expose a boy to your story, which basically codifies the common sense of our day.
2. I think the argument that the world compensates is insensitive but typical of our day: "Men can take it," after all, "no?" We wouldn't want to challenge their masculinity, right?
Perhaps we should report to feminists of all ages, "Everything is fine, it all compensates out in the end; No need to change anything -- You can handle it."
The rites men go through are essentially governed by women's libidos and interests. Men don't cry because women don't want them to, (won't sexually respect such a man, and likely can't sexually respect such a man,) and men train men on not crying because men are compassionate to children: Men know what happens to men who cry.
The social response to men voicing problems, frustrations, angers, is systematic and automatic emasculation; Women say, "I can't believe what a crybaby you are," (and so on,) and men order, "Man up!", and then, "Here, have a hankerchief; Is this pervert bothering you? Let me help with that..."
As it is, readers probably have rumbling feelings in their stomach, even just reading this post -- it's just "so wrong." Men feel inclination to offer advice on how to man up, and so on; Women feeling "unattracted."
Women are happy to turn a blind eye, and "blame society," in the abstract. They rightly perceive that they have nothing to gain by doing otherwise; This is just "why is she attracted to all the wrong men" in the larger, mythological form.
Until women face up to men's lives and their involvement in them, nothing can really change. Society, for the most part, is quite content with nothing changing: Men against change are having sex, women against change get stuff and masculine mates.
Right: "Man up."
So, you're giving me the "man up" response, just as I predicted.
Here's an interview with Sam Keen that explains some of my objections.
Basically, that perspective oppresses both men & women.
I learned it, you learned it, we all learned it, we all internalized it, because you can't really have sex unless you've embraced it, and worked really hard to retrain yourself to self-identify with it.
As far as I can tell, the "tough love" comes from (A) women, who give us "tough love," by refusing to look at us sexually, unless we meet the images of masculinity, and (B) men teach it to us, trying to spare us future grief from the women (and also, to demonstrate prowess to any ladies who may be watching.)
It's both nature and nurture, both informing the other. (Just to put that whole argument to the side.)
This is what Patriarchy looks like.
Amy George, are you reading this?
Here is what you wrote:
"I agree with you that the world treats men unfairly. It starts when they are little, and learn not to cry and to beat on each other, and also that throwing away their hearts makes them men."
"They go through rites that harden them, that make them compete for sex, that make some of them monsters."
This "talking to" that McNugget is issuing -- this is one of those rites. Every man has seen just this, at some point or another in there life, often multiple times.
Women in general, this is what being a man is like. This is "male priviledge." This is where "the armor" comes from. You're seeing it in action, right here. Are you looking?
It's all exactly as I predicted:
* Women turn away.
* Men order, "Man up!"
* Men say, "Here, have a hankerchief; Is this pervert bothering you? Let me help with that..."
(Specifically, on the last one, he accused me of "complaining about women," thust turning to the protectorate mode for himself.)
Amy, you wrote:
"But by and large, people compensate and there is then emough room to be alive, beautiful and to rejoice in forceful sex."
Is that what you're seeing here?
Is this all "people compensating?"
I'm not seeing it.

You are right. Perhaps I ought to have written: "people make do" or "eke out lives from a time-honored framework of lies." It's more than compensation. It's blindness.
It is tragic that this happens and I am glad you are pointing it out and appreciuate how sensitive you are to its nuances. Are you planning to do anything more involved about it? Write a book? Teach a course?
Here is a dream I interpreted:
Dreamer: I had a dream that the moon was hit by something and it looked like it fell from the sky and disappeared. Without mentioning my dream to anyone, I asked my 4-year-old-son if he remembered his dreams from last night and he said “The Moon” I asked him what happened to the moon and he said “Moon going.” I don’t know if he was thinking what I was thinking or if he really had the same dream.
Amy: When babies are born they recognize no divisions between themselves and their mother, themselves and the world, nor themselves and the stars and moon. As divisions begin to organize their minds, big chunks of the primordial unity they were born with become lost. Their greatest loss - even for girls - is unity with the feminine. In the symbol of losing the moon, your son is losing his connection to the cosmic feminine, the part of him that belongs in the universe. While there is sorrow in this, there is also joy. He is maturing. Moreover, no one can find their place in the universe without first losing it.
The moon in your dream is “hit.” For many boys, a part of becoming male is learning to hit and be hit. They train for this in sports and play. You might imagine your son slugging the moon out of Solar System Stadium for a homerun.
In gender socialization, masculine imbalance knocks the feminine out of place. Then, as adults, the sexes come together in conception to re-create the wholeness of the universe - the wholeness your son is losing...He is on the cusp of losing his primordial unity with the feminine and becoming a “little man.”
LK Hopefully they may re-create it with the benefit of your insight.
