The 9/11 Cube

As I write these words almost nine years have passed since the epoch-making event
universally known as "9/11." I say "epoch-making" because its impact on the
collective psyche of the human race has been out of all proportion to the scale
of the tragedy. For example, we now use the terms "pre-9/11" and "post-9/11" in
much the same way as we use "BC" and "AD" (or the rather bland "BCE" and "CE"),
in recognition of the fact that 9/11 has changed our world forever.
Who was really responsible for this horrifically audacious, breathtakingly successful
act of terror? What is presented here is not another "9/11 hypothesis" -- rather,
it is my interpretation of what appears to be a communication about 9/11 that
has been placed within the event itself, insisting that the ultimate
perpetrator was not any group of people but an intelligence which created 9/11 to
mark a watershed moment in history. The communication is written in a symbolic
language utilising words, numbers and geometric figures and is translated by means
of an esoteric science known as gematria.
Gematria arose in classical antiquity from the practice of using
strings of letter-numerals to represent numbers (a vestige of these ancient counting
systems is Roman numerals). Each letter was converted to a number under an
accepted system of alphabetic numeration, then the numbers summed to give a
total. Since words are also strings of letters, then in any language to which a
system of alphabetic numeration can be applied, words -- and by extension
phrases, sentences, etc -- can also be assigned numerical values. Gematria is the
discernment and study of what is claimed to be a numerical cyphertext within
many ancient and modern languages, including the English language, its central
tenet being that if a meaningful relationship exists between two words or
phrases then this will tend to be reflected in their numerical values. Strict
causality would deny such a possibility, insisting that languages evolve in
Darwinian fashion over time. The existence of a cyphertext would suggest a very
different reality, where teleological foresight triumphs over the blind
stumblings of evolution.
The translation key for a major part of the 9/11 message is the simplest and
most natural system of alphabetic numeration: the substitution of a letter by
its position in the alphabet. So for English words A = 1, B = 2, C = 3... Z =
26. An example of English gematria based on this system is given below.
Jesus Christ = 151
Holy Spirit = 151
Jesus is Lord = 151
Lord of Hosts = 151
Christ the King = 151
The Sacrificial Lamb = 151
This example shows the number
151 to be a kind of "strange attractor" for names and phrases meaningfully
related to Jesus Christ, hinting that some divine ordering principle has indeed
been influencing the development of language.
Another example is more subtle, involving a third, geometric, element of
gematria (the word comes from a Greek word meaning "earth measures").
God = 26 (13 x 2)
Lord = 49 (7 x 7)
I have broken down the numerical value of each word into its prime factors,
through which it can be seen that the largest prime factors of each number are
thirteen and seven, respectively. There seems at first glance to be no obvious
relationship between these numbers, but they are indeed related through a
geometric figure. Regular arrays of counters can create polygons and thirteen
is the number of units required to form a hexagram, within which is a hexagon
of seven units (figure 1).
This Star of David, ancient
symbol of Christ and modern emblem of Israel, links the two most significant
English names for the Judeo-Christian God. The product of 13 and 7 is 91, the
numerical value of "Spirit" and "The Father."
My own involvement with 9/11 and gematria began in 1998, with an internal
vision that symbolised my entry into a kind of celestial college, staffed by
angelic teachers. The first course of study lasted three-and-a-half years and
amounted to a tour-de-force of spiritual and paranormal experiences,
deftly woven into my life to teach me important lessons and often having a
distinctly Christian flavour. By 2001 my long-held agnosticism had been replaced
by an awareness of unseen dimensions and invisible but very real companions.
On the morning of September 11th, 2001, several hours before the attacks (I
live in the UK), I heard a male voice speak the words "Serpent Power" into my
left ear. I knew from past experience that the two words were important in some
way, so I wrote them down. Serpent Power is also known as Kundalini energy,
from the serpent goddess of Hindu mythology. Yogis claim that this energy is
our life force, normally residing in our "subtle body" near the base of the
spine. Under certain conditions this energy can rise through the subtle body's
channels and give rise to a Kundalini awakening, a dramatic and potentially
dangerous moment of enlightenment. Around 3.00PM my wife telephoned me to
say that something extraordinary had happened in New York and that I should
turn on the television. I did so then sat in front of it for eight hours,
watching with horror, fascination and an odd sense of unreality as the serpent
struck New York and Washington, causing the deaths of three thousand people,
the destruction of the twin symbols of global capitalism and the "Kundalini
awakening" of our sleeping world.
My sense of the unreality of 9/11 was compounded by something else: a growing
number of coincidences involving the number 11. The date was the 11th, the twin
towers resembled a giant eleven and there were 110 storeys in each building.
These snowballed into an avalanche of elevens, including historical links with the
number. For instance, Manhattan Island, on which the WTC stood, was first seen
by Henry Hudson on September the 11th, 1609, and work on the construction of
the Pentagon began on September the 11th, 1941. [1] Bizarrely, the 9/11
Commission report was released on 22/7/04, 1045 (11 x 95) days after 9/11.
Could this clustering of elevens around 9/11 be accounted for simply by chance?
I sensed from the start that a more likely explanation was a phenomenon
described by the great psychologist Carl Jung: synchronicity, or meaningful coincidence. [2] My own spiritual
awakening had been accompanied by many synchronicities and I could confirm the
observation made by Jung and others that these intensified during periods of transition
or crisis, outer events reflecting inner changes. Could 9/11 itself have been
such a reflection? What inner change was it reflecting?
By the summer of 2001 my spiritual education had begun to include the study of
gematria and one day in November 2001, during a period when I was myself at the
centre of a storm of meaningful coincidences, it occurred to me to look at the
gematria of 9/11. The first words I numerated were ‘Osama bin Laden'. A thrill
went through me when I saw that the most popular English translation of his name
has a numerical value of 110. Next I numerated ‘New York', which has a value of
111. ‘September the eleventh, two thousand and one' is 440 (11 x 40). The US
emergency code ‘Nine One One' is 110. ‘Osama bin Muhammad bin Laden'--the name
the man used for signing documents after the 9/11 attacks--is 209 (11 x 19).
Bin Laden's full name is ‘Osama bin Muhammad bin Awad bin Laden', which has a
value of 263, the same as the sum of the flight numbers of the three planes
that struck their targets (11 + 175 + 77). Two of these are 11 and 77 (11 x 7).
How many coincidences make a communication?
As my researches progressed I was helped in unusual ways. In addition to the synchronicities
I mentioned, much of this assistance came from dreams and visions, guiding me
with hints and clues I was expected to follow up. People around me also began
to have strange dreams which they felt compelled to share with me. One woman
with whom I worked had this dream in 2004. I swap bodies with my cousin, who
is very beautiful. My father then catches my cousin (in my body) with a diary
in which she has written many hateful things about him. My father reads the
diary then attacks my cousin in anger, slashing her back and chopping off two
fingers. This is a dream about 9/11. The two amputated fingers represent
the destruction of the twin towers, suggesting it was a punishment from God
(the father in the dream) for our rebellion. However, the beautiful cousin who
took the punishment for my workmate, because they'd swapped bodies, reminded me
of the "perfect sacrifice" who took our place on the cross. The slashes across
her back represented the scourging with whips Jesus received before his
crucifixion.
"The Pentagon" has a numerical value of 125. This is the cube of five, a number
that is as strongly linked to The Pentagon as 11 was to the twin towers. For
example, the Pentagon building has five storeys and consists of five concentric
pentagons, the pentagon itself being a five-sided figure. "Pentagon" = 92,
which is a pentagonal number. Again we find coincidences that defy the odds and
which, in some cases, have been built into our language, precluding any
possibility of a purely human conspiracy.
The number 125 can be displayed as a cube five units on a side. The other
structure hit on 9/11 was The World Trade Centre, the value of which is 218.
There is a profound geometric relationship between 125 and 218, because 218
units can surround cube 125 to create the cube of seven, with 343 units.
Coincidence? Well, the twin towers were individually known as The North Tower
and The South Tower (these are the names on the architect's plans for the WTC).
[3] The value of "The North Tower" is 189 and that of "The South Tower" is 197.
These sum to 386, which is, incredibly, the number of units in another hollow
cube, surrounding cube 343 to create the cube of nine, with 729 units (figure
2).
The "reasonable" explanation
of coincidence is seriously undermined by this second discovery, which takes us
beyond the reasonable world into a realm where some events, rather than being
senseless accidents of history, have been created to bring transcendent meaning
into our lives. The meaning within the events of September the 11th,
2001, is encoded into this nest of cubes; these present a kind of puzzle, the
solution to which is shown below.
The two hollow cubes surrounding cube 125 can be opened up to reveal two
crosses, built from 218 and 386 units (figure 3).
The twin towers themselves resembled the stake and crossbar of a cross, as do the digits of 11. Bearing in mind that cube 125 is associated with The Pentagon and the number five, what then does it represent? The pentagon and related pentagram have many symbolic associations. However, for Christians they are associated with the five wounds received by Jesus Christ as he was crucified: the wounds to his two wrists, his two feet and his side. In fact the early Christians used the pentagram as a symbol of the crucified Lord, before it was dropped in favour of the cross. A reciprocal link is found in the numerical value of "Jesus Christ," which you will recall is 151 (notice that this number incorporates the digits of the numbers 11 and five). Geometrically, 151 is a centred pentagram, as are 11 and 911. All three numbers are therefore linked to the pentagram and five-ness (figure 4).
A particular flower that has long been associated with the number five and its geometry is the rose. Christian symbolism associates the five petals of the wild rose with the wounds of Christ-the rose therefore carrying precisely the same symbolic meaning as the pentagram. The link between the rose and the crucified Lord is so strong that two well-known esoteric societies, the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons, have combined rose and cross to create distinctive emblems (figure 5).
Recall that through gematria the names "The Pentagon" and "The World Trade Centre" suggest cube 125 nested within cube 343. If we now take cube 343 and unfold its outer shell of 218 units, we see that we have a symbolic crucifix (figure 6).
The inner cube of 125 units is automatically positioned where the beams cross and thus, like the pentagram and the rose, symbolises the crucified Lord (figure 7).
The same procedure could be
carried out on cube 729 to leave a cross of 386 units. The cube mounted on this
cross has 343 units, symbolising through gematria the death of Jesus (the
Pentagon) and the two criminals (the World Trade Centre) at Golgotha. This
brings me to a remarkable confluence of cubes within the Bible that supports
the crucifixion interpretation of 9/11. Here is Matthew's version of the
Superscription, the charge against Jesus placed above his head on the cross
(Matthew 27:37).
THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS
Matthew's version of the Superscription, found as worded here in English
versions of the Bible, has a cubic watermark. The numerical value is 343, the
cube of seven encoded within the 9/11 targets. The numbers of words and letters
are eight and 27, the cubes of two and three, and the chapter is 27. Multiplying
the chapter and verse indicators gives 999, which recalls cube 729, and summing
these gives 64, the cube of four. In addition to its geometric relationship to the
cross, the cube, symbol of perfection, has deep significance within Judaism, as
discussed below.
The significance of the crucifixion to Christians is that it ended the need for
the Day of Atonement. This most solemn of Jewish holy days was an annual
sacrifice by the high priest to atone for the sins of his people, made
initially in the tabernacle then in the Jerusalem temple. Several animals were
sacrificed and their blood was sprinkled on and around the Ark of the Covenant,
which was held in the inner sanctum of the tabernacle, called The Most Holy Place.
The Bible describes three Most Holy Places: within the tabernacle, within the Jerusalem
Temple and the New Jerusalem itself. Astoundingly, all three spaces were perfect cubes, just like the three
cubes encoded into the 9/11 targets! [4]
To enter The Most Holy Place the high priest had to pass through a series of curtains, separating YHVH (who resided within the inner sanctum) from his sinful people. Within the tabernacle there were three curtains: the door to the outer court, the entrance to the tent and the veil (figure 8).
At the moment of Christ's death on the cross the curtain in
the Jerusalem Temple was torn in two, shattering the barrier previously in
place between God and his people: "The curtain of the temple was torn in two
from top to bottom." [5] If we now view the three strikes on 9/11 as the
tearing of the three curtains separating the Most Holy Place from the sinful
world beyond the tabernacle, we see that the events of September the 11th,
2001, were meant to reiterate the significance of the Crucifixion of Jesus
Christ, as the ultimate Day of Atonement. Thus, on 9/11 the Most Holy Place
was entered by our high priest Jesus Christ and atonement made for our sins by
the blood of those who were killed on that day.
This profound correspondence can be symbolised in a special way, using the
cubes encoded into the 9/11 targets. If we colour a one-unit-thick slice
through the centre of cube 729, then repeat this process in the other two
spatial directions -- to symbolise the three airplane strikes, the three torn curtains
and the three men crucified at Golgotha -- we obtain the figure I call The 9/11 Cube (figure 9).
The 9/11 cube looks something like a Rubik's cube, which is appropriate given that it presents us with the final part of the encoded puzzle. The solution is found by shining a light through the cube, oriented as shown in the figure, then looking to see what projects onto a piece of white paper -- imagine the cube to be composed of coloured marbles (figure 10).
The projection is a hexagon of 217 units with an internal
hexagram of 121 units, itself containing a hexagon of 61 units. The number 217
is the value of the following momentous phrase:
Christ's Second Coming = 217
Incredibly, by counting the individual units in each of the three coloured
zones we find that these three numbers are the ordinal values of the individual
words in that phrase!
Christ's = 96 = units in outer rhombi
Second = 60 = units in outer triangles
Coming = 61 = units in inner hexagon
The internal Star of David symbolises Jesus Christ, through its instantly
recognisable form, and his Second Coming, through gematria (figure 11).
Moreover 121 is the fifth hexagram in its series and the
square of 11, five and 11 being the numbers encoded into the Pentagon and the
twin towers! The stunning degree of coordination shown here between numerical
values, geometric properties and symbolism is singularly appropriate for the
message being conveyed and is a magnificent realisation of the potential of
synchronicity to bring transcendent meaning into our lives.
Finally, remember the mysterious fall of building 7 of the World Trade Centre?
I propose that the fall of this structure was preordained to complete the
message built into 9/11. The number 217, value of "Christ's Second Coming," was
implied by the numbers of the three buildings that fell on 9/11. These were
buildings 1, 2 and 7, which fell in the order 2, 1 and 7! As if to confirm the eschatological
import of 9/11, the numbers 217 and 911 twice "cross" each other in the Bible.
The 217th verse in the Bible is Genesis 9:11 and the 911th chapter in the Bible
is Haggai 2, which opens with these words, "On the twenty-first day of the
seventh month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai." [6] The ordinals "twenty-first" and "seventh"
imply 217 again!
I well recall the moment when I discovered the 9/11 cube, because another dazzling
synchronicity alerted me to its significance: at that very instant my wife
changed the TV channel and I heard the pop band Cockney Rebel sing the opening
words of their biggest hit: "You've done
it all, you've broken every code and pulled the rebel to the floor." [7] If
synchronicities really are manifestations of psycho-spiritual transformation, then
9/11 may have signified the greatest leap in human consciousness since we first
stood on two legs. In fact the 9/11 cube insists that this was the Event that
Christians throughout the world have long awaited. What better way to return
than by recreating his crucifixion and simultaneously destroying the twin
pillars of a rapacious economic system? In this way he demonstrated his
ultimate authority over world affairs and reminded us, during his bi-millennial
anniversary, of the sacrifice he made on the cross, by making a second
sacrifice to atone for our sins.

Thankyou for your comments on my article. I understand why you would think that 9/11 was a satanic plot - the equivalent of a black mass, if you like. I know one 9/11 researcher who holds precisely that view.
My own view is that the destructive forces unleashed on 9/11 were controlled by a higher power with the foresight to see what the long-term consequenses of 9/11 will be. What seems like evil to our myopic minds will (I hope) be our saving grace. To a kitten on the operating table the veterinarian might seem to be an evil monster, but that same kitten will wake up with it's malignant abscess drained and its life saved. 9/11 was the draining of an abscess of evil. It was the pushing of a reset button in our collective psyche, spellbound by the fake glamour of global capitalism. It was the bursting of the bubble of protection around the USA (and the rich western nations in general) that we imagined our wealth and military forces afforded us.
It's never pleasant to be disillisioned, but all you have to lose are the illusions you held in the first place.

I agree very much with you here! I think there were two levels of 'conspiracy' here (which is perhaps the cause of so much confusion about 9/11). There was a human or human-demonic conspiracy and a higher power that was in ultimate control.
In a sense I think the human psyche created (or co-created) 9/11, to fulfil the eschatological expectations of the Christian community and as a symbol and manifestation of a huge change in consciousness we are currently exeriencing.

Hi Mark. Thanks for your insights here. Yes, I think that all events are first created in the Mind of God, or Bohm's implicate order, before manifesting here, in the explicate order. It may be difficult for many people to understand what good could come from 9/11 -- and we all project our own beliefs, wishes and prejudices onto the event -- but if the information encoded into 9/11 is to be believed it will ultimately have a positive outcome for humanity. Perhaps that is one of the reasons the code was put there -- to reassure us that all will be well in the end.
Was Jesus power mad and God insane? It would be easy to believe that if you read the Bible literally. I think that the patriachal, judgmental YHVH of the Old Testament was a reflection of the mindset of those who wrote the scriptures. God appears to us as we understand him/her. In fact, the destruction wrought on 9/11 may have happened precisely for that reason -- because we expected punshment from a judgmental father-figure. The Judeo-Christian mindset runs deep.
I share your dislike of institutional Christianity (the car bumper sticker "God, save us from your people" says it all for me). But following Jesus Christ is not the same thing as being a church-goer or televangelist, in my opinion. Following Christ is not about worshipping him or adoring him like a football fan. I think it's about following his example, even unto the cross. In fact I think that all of us will have to undergo our own 'crucifixion' if we are to live the risen life. The crucifixion and 9/11 were manifestations of an internal process where we 'crucify' our lower, fearful natures and adopt a more spiritual way of life. This is the real Second Coming: the descent of higher consciousness into this realm, and it is now well underway.

The "punishment" of 9/11 was symbolic. I'm well aware that the world is still an unequal and unjust place, and may in some instances have been made more so by 9/11. Perhaps the seeds have been sown for a better world, though. The WTC and the Pentagon were idols that we worshipped, symbolising the military and financial strength of the rich western nations. People believed in what they stood for: free-market capitalism and its defense. But in reality capitalism is based on greed (ultimately on fear), assumes people are 'selfish units of selection' rather than spiritual beings and has lead to the economic exploitation of billions, the promotion of materialism and consumerism and the devastation of the environment. We worship mammon, not God, and have filled the world with temples to honour that false deity. The twin cathedrals of mammon in New York were destroyed to shatter our confident belief in the rightness of the system that enslaves us and make us think again. It's not the wanton destruction of a jealous God, it's necessity: if we keep on living this way we won't have much longer left.

If we believe that deities actually exist in some form, and we believe that they have some impact on consensus reality, then we can venerate or criticize these deities for the changes they're bringing forth in the world. In my experience a relationship with a deity is like a feedback loop, both in one's personal experience and the world around them. And unfortunately I have to question a deity who's institutions are having such profound success making our world a much darker and vicious place. "
I think we have to distinguish between the actions of politicians and the work of churches in the world. George Bush and Tony Blair may have called themselves Christians but can Christ really be blamed for the invasion of Iraq or Guantanimo Bay or the reductions in civil liberties we have all suffered? The church is far from perfect and "conservative Christian" is little more than an oxymoron to me, but the Church as a whole does much good in the world, quietly, without fanfare, purely for the love of humankind.
Yes, I do know a more benevolent Christ. He is well worth getting to know!

The prosperity doctrine, dominionist Christianity and the like are monstrous aberrations of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why the structures destroyed on 9/11 were the very temples at which those people worship. The message could not be clearer: God was pointing to the WTC and the Pentagon and saying "These are the abominations that cause desolation!" The Bible could hardly be clearer either. Jesus was on the side of the poor, the scorned, the lame and the dispossessed, not the rich and powerful.
The church has always bred heretical doctrines, from docetism to Arianism, and it seems to me that dominionism is another heresy. The majority of Christians throughout the world currently have no truck with it. The influence of America in the world is still huge, though, and it worries me that US-style Christianity is spreading, especially since the church in Europe is moribund. I think we also have to distinguish between the man-made church and the Church of God, which are two different entities. I try to serve the latter.

Actually, I have done some probability calculations, within my own very limited capabilities (I would be pleased to accept help in this area).
The 9/11 Cube is only one of many discoveries I've made regarding 9/11 and the Second Coming. Most of the encoded information is actually within the NIV Bible (I was 'given' this version in 2001). At the very start of the NIV Bible are three numbers that define a kind of fractal snowflake I call The Creation Snowflake. The full structural properties of this figure can be defined by a set of numbers several of which are numerical values for the Christian Trinity. Using the binomial theorem I calculated that the odds against these numbers also being numerical values for the English names 'the Lord God', 'Jesus Christ', 'the Holy Spirit' and shorter variants (eg. 'God') were 118 million to 1. This does not take into account the Hebrew and Greek names encoded therein or the encoding of the snowflake within the first two verses of the NIV.

I think that this kind of analysis can add some weight to my findings, but also you can use statistics and probability to prove whatever you want, which is why even some of the best minds in mathematics could not agree about the reality of the ELS codes in the Torah. Bot sides had their minds made up before they started. I think that the only convincing evidence of the reality of the spiritual realms is the kind of awakening that I and many others have had. Hopefully the 9/11 cube will catalyse this kind of experience in others.

However, I will say that if I am deluded then so are the many people around me who received information for me, such as the woman who received a message for me apparently from the apostle Paul. She had no idea that I had just made my first gematria finds concerning 9/11. The message she received was encoded -- in fact it was the key to the code itself, showing exactly how information is encoded and how to decode it. Unbelievable, I know, but absolutely true.

It's true that the pentagram, hexagram, etc, predate Christianity and that these symbols may have been appropriated by Jews and Christians for their own purposes, but I don't think this changes anything.

I think, though, that this intuition was NOT referring to Kundalini, but an entirely different and much darker kind of serpent power...
As for the esoteric symbolism of 9-11, I think the most obvious esoteric reference is the twin pillars of Solomon's Temple, which appear in the Tarot, called Jachin and Boaz.

Did 'serpent power' refer to some satanic power? I considered that myself for a while, but the message of the 9/11 cube is that the serpent refers to Christ. In Hebrew gematria 'Ha Nachesh' (the serpent) and 'Ha Mashiah' (the Messiah) both have the same numerical value of 363, which is also a double multiple of 11.
It seems far more likely to me that satan was represented by the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. Revelation 13:11 speaks of 'the beast out of the earth', which has two horns like a lamb (blunt) but which spoke like a dragon. That seems to me to be a good description of the twin towers.
A direct reference to satan and his followers is found in the Bible. This too is encoded with elevens:

This verse tells us in allegorical terms the fate of satan and his followers. “They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. The ordinal value of this verse is 1342, or 11 x 122.
In March 2002, while thinking about the meaning of the code I had a vision (eyes open) of the following two words:
ARMS AVARICE
This has a value of 110, 11 letters and each word begins with A (AA = 11). ARMS = 51 = demon. AVARICE = 59 = dragon. The two words have 4 and 7 letters. Beast = 47. It is a stunningly direct reference to the Pentagon (force of arms) and the WTC (avarice - lust for money).
Notwithstanding what I just said, 9/11 was multisymbolic to an incredible degree, so yes it also could have represented the destruction of the temple. God often used their enemies to punish his people.

I don't know too much about western occultism but I looked up the latin words Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem: 'Visit the interior of the earth and rectifying (i.e. purifying), you will find the hidden stone'. I agree with the sentiment. Jung says something similar, I think: one doesn't become enlightened by imagining figures of light but by making the darkness conscious. 9/11 has caused many people to do some soul searching.
The number 11 has meaning in many traditions, as well as being a 'master number' in traditional numerology. In Biblical numerics 11 means disorgaisation, disorder, disintegration, etc, which fits well with 9/11. There is much more to it than this, though. There are other systems of numeration besides the one I showed in the article. In the reduced value system of numeration (all letters take the value 1 to 9)

There might seem to be some ambiguity here, but if we understand that the crucifixion was and is a process of shifting our identification away from the material towards the spiritual then both Jesus who was crucified and the beast which was destroyed represent the death of our identification with our bodies and the material world, the world of duality represented by the two digits of 11 or the horns of a beast or the twin towers. This was part of the 'esoteric' meaning behind 9/11, I believe.
The other numbers are also significant. For instance, the sum of the four flight numbers is 356 (11 + 175 + 93 + 77):

The three flights that hit their targets were 11, 175 and 77, which sum to 263. In the standard value system, which is the direct English equivalent of Hebrew gematria (A = 1 to Z = 800):

It's been awhile, but the number of passengers on some of those flights were, I believe 56 passengers, also a highly thelemic number, also equalling 11.
I'm sort of a closet occultist but not really a practitioner - became fascinated with Thelema's mysterious Liber al vel Legis, which ends with a very cryptic passage which could easily be interpreted as the return of the messiah. Messiah has many interpretations, and in this light, messiah would mean the global consciousness. If your a Christian occultist, however, you may find some of this book a bit blasphemous overtly, but covertly it's another story.
Anyway, I always found the numerology of 911 to appear to have some significance and your article is the only one I have come across that touches upon this.

I have no problem with occultism ("occult", as you will be aware, simply means "hidden"). So yes I am a "Christian occultist" I suppose, although in my case it wasn't a conscious decision. It was something I came here to do. The little me (my ego) had little choice in the matter.
I think if people's intentions are pure and they keep their wits about them (in other words, if they are as wise as serpents and innocent as doves) they won't go too far wrong, no matter what tradition they hang their hat on.
There are certainly dangers in going public about ones occult interests. I work for a Christian charity. When my fundamentalist boss (actually, my boss's boss) found out that I was interested in gnosticism he came to see me to tell me in no uncertain terms that I had "better not be a satanist!" I think he imagined there was some kind of satanic infiltration of the charity going on. I knew then there would be no promotion for me in that organisation. They claim to be an equal opportunity employer but there seems to be a glass ceiling for satanists...

The idea of the temple being the 'shadow' of the real, heavenly temple has a mathematical analogue in the 4-D cube or tesseract, the shadow of which s a 3D cube with a smaller cube inside, these being connected at their corners. Wow, that's a fascinating story you have to tell! If I hadn't had similar experiences myself I would have found it difficult to believe. At the precise time the attacks happened I was telling my work colleagues that the global capitalist system was now so corrupt that only a revolution of some kind would have a chance of changing it for the good. A junior colleague had made a paper airplane and was launching it around the laboratory where we worked.
9/11 was the focal point for an immense cluster of synchronicities, drawing world events, popular culture and people's daily lives into alignment with it. I think those who are atuned to synchronicities could see that something unprecedented was occurring. I can trace the influence of 9/11 in films, books (most notably the Bible, of course), past and future events, UFO abductions (I kid you not) and in other ways. Here's one example: the Great Northeastern USA blackout took place on 11/9/65. This power blackout affected large parts of northeastern USA and Canada, including the NY metropolitan area. 11/9/65 is 13090 (11 x 1190) days before 9/11.
On Islam, I don't think gematria is specific to Hebrew/Greek/English or the Bible. I believe there are references t 9/11 in the Quran, in fact. My interpretation is given in Christian language, but you probably realise by now that I don't restrict myself to a narrowly Christian view. I think that 9/11 may have been a point of convergence for the end-time prophecies of many traditions.
UFO Abductions

Sorry to take so long to reply, but I didn't notice this posting.
There was a very famous UFO incident 30 years ago in Scotland, where I live. A forestry worker called Bob Taylor saw a craft in a clearing in some local woods. Two spherical objects rolled towards him and attached themselves to his trouser legs, pulling him towards the craft. He woke up later with both his trouser legs ripped. He later left the area to avoid publicity and died a few years ago.
There are some very strange features of this event that point towards it being some kind of prophecy or warning of 9/11.
1. The incident took place on 11/9/79 (note the date).
2. This was (11 x 2) years before 9/11.
3. Bob Taylor = 110
4. The two ripped trouser legs symbolise the twin towers. Mr. Taylor was pulled to the ground by the two spheres. The conventional explanation (amongst the UFO community) is that it was an attempted ubduction, but it seems to me that it was a little vignette, representing the fall of the towers.
5. The incident took place only two miles from where I lived (I live close to there now).
6. A personal link is that Mr. Taylor was a colleague of the man who was my best friend at the time.

Another fascinating synchronicity! I think that at a very deep level in our collective psyche we knew that 9/11 as coming. People such as artists, musicians etc, who go deep within for inspiration are particularly receptive to information from this level, which is why, for instance, so many films made immediately before and around 9/11 seemed to hint at the event -- films such as The Two Towers (Lord of the Rings - 2002), Oceans 11 (2001), The Matrix (1999), where Neo's room number was 101, Harry Potter (2001), where Harry went to Hogwart's on his 11th birthday.

To a limited extent I agree that different interpretations of the event are certainly possible and I also agree that the point is for people to interpret it in accordance with their own understanding, so that the event can thereby be processed by the psyche. Thanks for your recollections. I was particularly interested to read about your experiences with the number 217. We have been forwarned about the Second Coming in many ways. Those three digits are perfect for the task because not only is 217 a hexagonal number, but 127, 271 are too (and other combinations of the digits). In fact 127, 217 and 271 thereby make a kind of '666'.

12/21/2012... the Omega Point of our current age? It is certainly interesting that 9/11 was 11 years beforehand, something I noticed too. In truth I haven't done too much reearch into 2012 -- although I'm obviously aware of its importance in New Age thinking -- so I don't think I'm the best person to write about it.
In fact, until recently I didn't think there was any connection between 9/11 and 2012, other than that they are both linked to end-time prophecies. However, a few months ago I had a dream where a copper-coloured coin with the digits '2012' came bouncing towards me. The next day I was browsing in a bookshop when I saw Daniel Pinchbek's book "2012: The year of the Mayan prophecy, with copper-coloured lettering and a globe with Quetzalcoatl. I took the synchronicity as a sign I was supposed to read the book, which I did. That's actually what brought me here. So I'm taking a new interest in the '2012' phenomenon. Watch this space!

I can understand how 9/11 must have affected those who lost loved ones. But many more people died on 9/11/2001 than the 3000 victims of the terrorist attacks. Before the first tower fell that morning 10000 children had died of hunger around the world, most of them the silent victims of a pitiless economic system that has the third world in its thrall and which is largely the responsibility of rich western nations such as the USA.
We live in a world poisoned by fear, greed and exploitation. In fact it was that very mindset that created 9/11 in the first place. It was a mirror held up to us, showing us to ourselves. If we don't like what we see it's no use blaming the reflection. Better that we change who we are.

Yes, I think you've hit the nail on the head here. This Grand Awakening will have painful consequences for many of us, but will be our salvation. Yes life here is a dream, and for those for whom the dream is a pleasant experience, the awakening will be rude. But for many of us the dream has become a nightmare.

Many, many interesting ideas in this discussion. I had a nightmare in the early 80's which I wrote down, tried to dissect for years, until 9/11 happened. Offer it now, since it seems to fit in with the satanic theory: I am in my basement laundry room, pulling many clean white sheets from the dryer. Suddenly the wall opposite opens up into a window, and I see a distant horizon. A plane crashes, and black smoke plumes out. I am somewhat disturbed, but then a moment later, another plane crashes right next to it! There are two plumes of black smoke. When this happens in the dream, I think that something truly horrible has happened, something beyond belief. White ashes fly from the black smoke, and am horrified because I know that they are the ashes of the people burned up in the crash. Then the window seems to open up, and the ashes come through the window into the laundry room. I can smell them, and know that this is the smell of burning flesh. Then, one of the ashes, which seems to be perfectly round, flies into my mouth, and I can taste it. This is more horrifying than anything else, and I awake with the taste in my mouth. The smell and taste was unbelievably intense and stuck with me for years, although I cannot remember it now, thankfully. It occured to me after 9/11 that the white sheets were shrouds; I realized before that the white ashes were communion wafers (and at that time I had the dream, I was unfamiliar, at least consciously, with round communion wafers, having never been to a Catholic service or any other that had them); and I also realized the satanic implication of the whole dream (I think after reading Michelle Remembers!) but I never could figure it out. I still can't. I don't understand what the implication would be for 9/11 being a mass satanic sacrifice. I cannot quite make out my captcha code, but unbelievably it seems to be "Mr Wtcnn".

This was an incredible dream and I agree that it anticipated 9/11. Going on that basis I would offer an alternative interpretation.
The white sheets were indeed shrouds, I would say (I have dreamed of shrouds myself before a death)and the round pieces of ash communion wafers. However, the communion wafer represents (actually is for Roman Catholics) the body of Christ. The burning flesh taste was a confirmation that the people who died in 9/11 were representing Jesus Christ, which fits in PERFECTLY with my interpretation of 9/11 as representing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ!
Blood sacrifices are not necessarily satanic and 9/11 did not 'undo' the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Whether or not you think the event happened in reality the dying/resurrected Godman is a very powerful and ancient archetype which was restated on 9/11 and which had an immense impact on our collective psyche, as it was meant to have. We have been in thrall to the God of darkness for far too long, exploiting the planet, its life and each other in a fruitless and insane spiral into materialistic hell and spiritual oblivion. The number 11 means different things within different traditions, but its meaning within the Judeo-Christian tradition -- disorder, disorganisation, destruction, etc (according to E. H. Bullinger, a recognised authority in biblical numerics) -- is what is most relevant to the understanding of 9/11, which was created to fulfil biblical end-time prophecies. It also resonates with the idea of duality and division and is almost a pictogram expressing the concept. This is reinforced by the many encodings of the number 11 within passages in the Bible (specifically the NIV Bible) where these ideas are found, such as Genesis 11 (the tower of Babel), Mark 11 (Jesus overturning the tables of the money changers, his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, his making the fig-tree wither -- all metaphors for 9/11). If 9/11 is understood within this tradition it all makes perfect sense. That doesn't mean, of course that it cannot be understood in other ways and I myself stress that 9/11 was multisymbolic. I agree that the towers/Pentagon and all they stood for were and are a result of disharmonic or discordant thoughts and that it is time (high time!) for these to be replaced by more harmonic ones. I think that discordant, hateful thoughts create an energy that I would call 'antichrist', of which the Pentagon and twin towers were archetypal manifestations. It reminds me of the 60's film Quatermass and the Pit, where a demonic energy is created from the thoughts of people genetically altered by ancient Martians to kill anyone who is different (ie the mindset of duality). The energy manifests as a giant devil's head, complete with horns, towering over London.

Yes, the orbit of Venus does create a pentagram over several revolutions. Both Jesus and Lucifer are associated with the Morning Star in the NIV Bible. I don't know if the writers of the gospels had any knowledge of this when they wrote the crucifixion accounts and gave Jesus five wounds, or whether it's another astounding synchronicity. I hope you agree though that the Pentagon does indeed represent Jesus Christ (or at least his five wounds) in the crucifixion drama created on 9/11. Flight 77 that struck the Pentagon would also represent the spear being stuck in his side.

The reality of the planet 'Niburu' is very controversial and by no means proven. Mainstream science has no truck with the idea. If you have any good links by all means post them. I'm always open to new possibilities but I have to say the idea comes across as a New Age fad held by people who have little scientific knowledge.

I disagree. If anyone could find a similarly meaningful set of numbers encoded into any other event I would be very surprised. It's difficult to do accurate probability calculations but those of us who are aware of the reality of synchronicity are in a better position to accept the reality of gematria than those who adhere to a purely materialistic worldview. 9/11 was saturated and surrounded with synchronicities, signalling like a beacon that this was no ordinary event. The 'Bible Code', incidentally, was based on equidistant letter sequences, not gematria. Finally, it's probably difficult to mathematically define meaning, but if this could be factored into the probability calculations the reality of the code (and perhaps the ELS codes too) would then be obvious. This would also distinguish them from pseudo-encoded patterns in books like Moby Dick.
