2010: Contact?

There have been several UFO sightings since the summer that are significant in that they were witnessed by many, caught on camera by major news agencies, and remain unexplained by government and scientific authorities. On July 7th at around 8PM, Xiaoshan Airport in Eastern China was closed when a mysterious object was spotted in the sky.
Arcing over Zhejiang's provincial capital Hangzhou, the UFO appeared to glow with an eerie white light and left a bright trail in its wake.
Witnesses reported seeing a comet-like fireball in the sky and local residents took many photos of the strange ball of light.
There were seven more sightings of a similarly described object in the months following--just last week, on October 6th, a fresh report emerged of another Chinese aiport in Mongolia that had to be closed after reports of a strange object in the sky on the evening of September 11th.
"The alert was triggered by bright lights in the sky that moved erratically, but reports claim that air traffic controllers at the Hohhot Air Traffic Management Bureau spotted the object on their radar. After about an hour, the object and the lights suddenly vanished and passenger jets were allowed to land."
The Chinese government has refused to comment on this most recent sighting.
In possibly related news, a "silvery vision of a dozen balloon-like dots" was seen hovering in yesterday's clear blue NYC skies. Thousands saw the objects hovering over West 23rd Street around 1:30 PM EST on October 13, 2010--the same date that a retired U.S. Air Force General predicted there would be a "a massive UFO display over the world's principal cities."
Callers flooded the phone banks at the NYPD and Federal Aviation Administration with reports of the strange, silver objects high in the sky.
"Some people saw something described as yellow with blue lights surrounding it," said FAA spokesman Jim Peters reported that some people described the object as "yellow with blue lights surrounding it." He added that if the objects were weather balloons--as has been suggested--his agency had no prior notification they'd be launched.
Tim Powell, 28, described the objects to the NY Post as, "the most bizarre thing I've ever seen."
"It looked like a jellyfish made of lights that just hovered in the sky like it wanted to be seen," he said. "I was half expecting the aliens to beam down and introduce themselves."

its more fun when they're unidentified.

the truth is out there :-)
cosmic balloon joke
Now balloons from a school party are the official explanation, without any hard evidence to back that up. As Fox News puts it in their story, the objects were "almost certainly errant party balloons."
Whether they were balloons or UFOs (or somehow both simultaneously) doesn't matter. This is about us. It's about the bipolar nature of ourselves and our culture that, consciously or not, seeks UFOs, then scrambles to explain them away as quickly as possible. But at the same time the "other," or the mysterious, in my experience, loves making jokes. And there's something very comical about many of these events and our society's reaction to them that makes me sense an "other" presence.
But like Jennifer and others have said before, determining the "truth" of these sightings matters less than probing why they are happening. As Terence McKenna once asked, "If the UFO phenomenon is something that is coming from us, then what is it, and what is it for?”
If the majority of people, Fox News included, believe the phenomenon comes from us, then balloons don't explain away anything.

Sphere in a cube
Thanks for this comment, auditioning hunters. I think the things in the sky are part of a new reality breaking through into the dominant one. As more and more people wake up to the possibilities of new ways of being, I think we'll start seeing more things in the sky. It's not about whether these things are real any more than this laptop is "real" that I type on...reality is a collective decision.
By way of synchronicity, this crop circle appeared at around the same time that the first airport in China was closed because of a UFO:

I find that it has a strong similarity to the pic above of the NYC UFO. Also, an RS contributor has revealed that this cube has strong ties to 9/11, the date of the second airport closing in China:

loose change
laptops are pretty real. a lot of them are assembled probably by small chinese hands.. IN CHINA! coincidence?
speaking of balloons...
hoaxes aside, I like
The undeniable truth ...
I suggest to do a test for anyone that says: Balloooommsss! Look! Faulty hoaxy ballooons!....... Go to a store and buy a bunch of silvery balloons and release them into the sky and.... Observe... Tape it.... Watch it.... and then you will see if it looks anything like the video.
I understand CNN, FOX and all of those guys aren't gonna say a word until the aliens are having a summer picnic in central park. But to deny this, as an individual now, I will dare to say it is to go beyond denial... which I believe it categorizes under insanity.
If this "balloons of our collective imagination" are in the sky now.... oh brother lololololol... wait until our collective imagination brings them closer and "the collective imaginary beings start coming out of them"...
MOAR COOL!!!
For the record
I wrote this piece because I think these phenomena deserve serious attention. I believe we are in the midst of contact with E.T.'s--but language makes this sound like they are something Other to us--when they aren't. I believe these are our galactic brothers and sisters--they may have been here all along, watching us like angels. Maybe we haven't been ready to see them until now. Whatever the case, I think that these events are intimately connected with our evolution as a species. They signify a shift from one reality to another.
I'm super psyched to be alive and here to be a part of it.
I'm glad you guys are all here too.
Peace,
jp

Curious isn't
Curious isn't it?
Perhaps they are only nearly real, and so photographing them is a half possible endeavour.
But perhaps to say they are nearly real implies that they are really near.
Tricky things. I bet nobody will ever catch a fairy in a jar.
exactly weres the clear pictures
in this time of technology no one of de thousands that saw these ballons for minutes, in
NY -the big apple- and no one had a videocamera with a telelense on a tri-pod...??!
Oct 13 UFO Sightings PREDICTED
do you believe
please provide more info?
hello friend, i believe it
hello friend, i believe it was you and also Jay Archer i was talking to on facebook about the crop circles showing the eclipse of the sun (Aaron Rase), i just thought it was neat to see that you were drawn to the same article. These crop circles mean something, and some "one", or perhaps just "one", is trying to tell us something that is indefinitely pertinent for the evolution of our species into the next level of conscious existence. If these were in fact UFO's over NYC, then it was certainly predicted here in the link Jennifer posted: "The author predicts that the "aliens will neither land nor communicate on that date; they are aware from eons of experience with other planets in similar conditions their sudden intervention would cause fear and panic."
Namaste friend

Bluebeam..
Howdy.
Just wondering if you guys have heard of Project Bluebeam? Read about it a while ago after getting particularly interested in UFO's after witnessing on a couple of occasions now, (what I can only describe as) glowing orbs of light flying around in the sky over my hometown Wanganui, New Zealand. Another post would be required to justify that these weren't your average satellite, weather balloon, or asteroid. Kind of a side note really :D.
But.. for those of you who haven't;
Google Cache link (via Wapedia) to an interestingly now removed Wikipedia article on the subject.
and, a Consipiracy Science wiki entry, which contains some video links and stuff.
Interested to read what you think. Potentially relevant I feel.

Ballons
Phoenix and El Paso
Hi,
Thanks for the comments--Red Collie, I would love to take a deeper look at the connection between things seen in the sky and circles on the ground. I've been convinced for several years that one informs the other...
In the last day these links have come to my attention--one is from Phoenix and one is from El Paso. They depict objects in the sky that are very similar to the ones filmed over NYC:

excellent work Jennifer,
excellent work Jennifer, please keep us all informed on new sightings of these things as I have seen the almost exact same objects at night. Balloons tend to wobble with the currents of air flowing, and they look like balloons, not 'flying' objects. Thanks again
